product, follow basic precautions, including the following:
Installation
Make sure the cooktop is properly installed and grounded by a qualified installer, according to the
Installation Instructions. Any adjustment and service should be performed only by qualified gas range
installers or service technicians.
Plug the cooktop into a 120-volt grounded outlet only. Do not remove the round grounding prong from
the plug. If in doubt about the grounding of the home electrical system, it is your personal responsibility
and obligation to have an ungrounded outlet replaced with a properly grounded, three-prong outlet in
accordance with the National Electrical Code. Do not use an extension cord with this cooktop.
To prevent fire hazard or electrical shock, do not use an adapter plug, an extension cord, or remove the
grounding prong from the electrical power cord. Failure to follow this warning can cause serious injury,
fire or death.
This appliance is equipped with a three-prong grounding plug for your protection against shock hazard

5IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
ENGLISH
These adjustments must be done by a qualified service technician according to the manufacturer’s
instructions and all codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. Failure to follow these
instructions could result in serious injury or property damage. The qualified agency performing this
work assumes responsibility for the conversion.
Remove all tape and packing materials before using the cooktop. Dispose of all plastic bags after
unpacking the cooktop. Never allow children to play with packing materials.
Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service or maintenance can cause injury or property
damage. For assistance or additional information, consult a qualified installer, service agency,
manufacturer (dealer) or your gas supplier.
Never reuse old flexible connectors. The use of old flexible connectors can cause gas leaks and personal
injury. Always use NEW flexible connectors when installing a gas appliance.
This appliance must not be installed with a ventilation system that blows air downward toward the
cooktop. This type of ventilation system may cause ignition and combustion problems with the gas
cooking appliance resulting in personal injury or unintended operation.
Ask the installer to show you the location of the cooktop gas shut-off valve and how to shut it off if
necessary.
Before servicing, disconnect the electrical supply.
Operation
WARNING
NEVER use the cooktop as a space heater to heat or warm the room. Doing so may result in carbon
monoxide poisoning and overheating of the cooktop.
Gas appliances can cause minor exposure to four potentially hazardous substances, namely benzene,
carbon monoxide, formaldehyde and soot, caused primarily by the improper combustion of natural or
LP gas.
Correctly adjusted burners, indicated by a blue rather than a yellow flame, will minimize improper
combustion. Exposure to these substances can be minimized by opening windows or using a ventilation
fan or hood.
Do not place or use combustible materials, gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity
of this or any other appliance.
Stepping, leaning or sitting on this cooktop can result in serious injuries and cause damage to the
cooktop.
Do not leave children alone or unattended where a cooktop is hot or in operation. They could be
seriously burned.
Do not allow children to climb or play around the cooktop.
Let the burner grates and other surfaces cool before touching them or leaving them where children can
reach them.
Items of interest to children should not be stored in cabinets above a cooktop — children climbing on
the cooktop to reach items could be seriously injured.
Do not let anyone climb or stand on the cooktop. They could damage the cooktop or tip it over, causing
severe personal injury.
Never wear loose fitting or hanging garments while using the appliance. Be careful when reaching for
items placed in cabinets over the cooktop. Flammable material could be ignited if brought into contact
with flame or hot surfaces and may cause severe burns.
Do not place flammable materials on or near the cooktop.
Do not use water on grease fires. NEVER touch a flaming pan. Turn the controls off. Smother a flaming
pan on a surface burner by covering the pan completely with a well-fitting lid, cookie sheet or flat tray.
Use a multi-purpose dry chemical or foam-type fire extinguisher. Flaming grease outside a pan can be

6 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
put out by covering it with baking soda or, if available, by using a multi-purpose dry chemical or foam-
type fire extinguisher.
If the top burner flame goes out, gas is still flowing to the burner until the knob is turned to the OFF
position. Do not leave the burners ON unattended.
Use proper pan size. Do not use pans that are unstable or easily tipped. Select cookware having flat
bottoms large enough to cover burner grates. To avoid spills, make sure cookware is large enough to
contain the food properly. This will save cleaning time and prevent hazardous accumulations of food.
Because heavy spattering or spills left on a range can ignite, use pans with handles that can be easily
grasped and remain cool.
Never leave the surface burners unattended at high flame settings. Boilovers can cause smoking and
greasy spillovers may catch on fire.
Control the top burner flame size so it does not extend beyond the edge of the cookware. Excessive
flame is hazardous.
Use only dry pot holders—moist or damp pot holders on hot surfaces may result in burns from steam.
Do not let pot holders come near open flames when lifting cookware. Do not use a towel or other bulky
cloth instead of a pot holder.
To prevent burns, ignition of flammable materials and spillage, turn cookware handles toward the side
or back of the cooktop without extending over adjacent burners.
NEVER place any items on the cooktop. The hot air from the vent may ignite flammable items and will
increase pressure in closed containers, which may cause them to burst.
Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or any other
appliance.
Storage on Appliance - Flammable materials should not be stored on the cooktop or near surface units.
This includes paper, plastic and cloth items, such as cookbooks, plasticware and towels, as well as
flammable liquids.
Carefully watch foods being fried at a high flame setting.
Always heat fat slowly, and watch as it heats.
Use a deep fat thermometer if possible to prevent overheating fat beyond the smoking point.
Use the least possible amount of fat for effective shallow or deep-fat frying. Filling the pan too full of fat
can cause spillovers when food is added.
LG does not recommend using a gas cooktop for the preparation of flaming foods. If you choose to
prepare flaming foods under a hood, turn the fan on.
To prevent burns, always be sure that the controls for all burners are at the OFF position and all grates
are cool before attempting to remove them.
If you smell gas, turn off the gas to the cooktop and call a qualified service technician. Never use an open
flame to locate a leak.
Do not place cooking oils or other flammable materials on or near the cooktop.
Always turn knob to the OFF position before removing cookware.
Do not store explosives, such as aerosol cans, on or near the cooktop. Flammable materials may explode
and result in fire or property damage.
Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilation air.
Do not block the airflow into or out of the cooktop. It is necessary for proper combustion and ventilation.
Always turn knobs to the LITE position when igniting the top burners and make sure the burners have
ignited.
If frying a combination of oils or fats, stir together before heating or as fats slowly melt.
Liquids such as water, coffee or tea are able to be overheated beyond the boiling point without
appearing to be boiling, due to surface tension of the liquid. Visible bubbling or boiling is not always
present when the container is removed from the cooktop. This could result in very hot liquids suddenly
boiling over when the container is disturbed or a spoon or other utensil is inserted into the liquid.
To reduce the risk of injury to persons
background
7IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
ENGLISH
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
- Do not overheat the liquid.
- Stir the liquid both before and halfway through heating it.
- Do not use straight-sided containers with narrow necks.
- After heating, allow the container to stand on the cooktop for a short time before moving the
container.
- Use extreme care when inserting a spoon or other utensil into the container after heating.
Maintenance
Do not attempt to repair or replace any part of the cooktop unless it is specifically mentioned in this
manual. All other service should be referred to a qualified technician.
Clean the cooktop with caution. If a wet sponge or cloth is used to wipe spills on a hot cooktop, be careful
to avoid steam burns.
Leak testing of the appliance must be conducted according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Do not lift the cooktop. Lifting the cooktop can cause damage and improper operation of the cooktop.
If the cooktop is located near a window, do not hang long curtains that could blow over the surface
burners and catch on fire.
CAUTION STATEMENTS
CAUTION
To reduce the risk of minor or moderate injury to persons, malfunction, or damage to the product or
property when using this product, follow basic precautions, including the following:
Operation
To prevent poor air circulation, place the cooktop out of the kitchen traffic path and away from drafty
locations.
If using glass cookware, make sure it is designed for top-of-range cooking.
If frying mixtures of oils or fats, stir to combine before heating.
Do not use a wok on the surface burners if the wok has a round metal ring that is placed over the burner
grate to support the wok. This ring acts as a heat trap, which may damage the burner grate and burner
head. Also, it may cause the burner to work improperly. This may cause a carbon monoxide level above
that allowed by current standards, resulting in a health hazard.
Foods for frying should be as dry as possible. Frost or moisture on foods can cause hot fat to bubble up
and over the sides of the pan.
Never try to move a pan of hot fat, especially a deep fat fryer. Wait until the fat is cool.
Do not place plastic items on the cooktop—they may melt if left too close to the vent.
Keep all plastics away from the surface burners.
To avoid burns, do not clean the cooktop surface until it has cooled.

9OPERATION
ENGLISH
OPERATION
Using the Surface Burners
Before Using the Surface Burners
Throughout this manual, features and appearance
may vary from your model.
Make sure all grates on the cooktop are properly
placed before using any burner.
Be sure the burners and grates are cool before
you place your hand, a pot holder, cleaning
cloths or other materials on them.
Make sure all burners are in place.
Do not operate the burner for an extended
period of time without cookware on the grate.
The finish on the grate may chip without
cookware to absorb the heat.
Lighting a Gas Surface Burner
Push the control knob of the burner that you
wish to light and turn it counterclockwise to
LITE.
When turning a burner to LITE, all the burners
spark. Do not attempt to disassemble or clean
around any burner while another burner is on.
An electric shock may result, which could cause
you to knock over hot cookware.
If you keep the control knob held down, the
automatic ignition for the burner will operate.
You should hold down the control knob for 15
seconds after the flame on the burner has lit. If
after 15 seconds the burner has not lit, stop
operating the device and ventilate the area and/
or wait at least 1 minute before attempting a
further ignition of the burner.
After this 15 second interval, to regulate the
flame you should continue turning the control
knob counterclockwise until the flame is at a
suitable level. The operating position must be at
a position between HI and LO.
To switch the burner off, turn the control knob
fully clockwise to the gas off position.
In case of power failure, the burners can be lit by
carefully using a match.
In Case of Power Failure
In case of a power failure, you can light the gas
surface burners on the cooktop with a match.
Hold a lit match to the burner, then push in and
turn the control knob to the LITE position. Use
extreme caution when lighting burners this way.
Surface burners in use when an electrical power
failure occurs will continue to operate normally.
Automatic Ignition with Flame
Failure Safety Device (Gas Control)
The appliance is fitted with a flame failure safety
device on each burner, which is designed to stop
the flow of gas to the burner head in the event of
the flame going out.
Safety and Energy Saving
The diameter of the bottom of the pan should
correspond to that of the burner.
CAUTION
Be careful! When you use oversize cookware, the
surface around the product may be overheated.

10 OPERATION
Correct
Always use cookware that is suitable for each
burner to avoid wasting gas and discoloring the
cookware.
Place a lid on the cookware.
Only use pots, saucepans and frying pans with a
thick, flat bottom.
Center cookware on the grate over the burner
head.
Handle cookware carefully when it is on the
burner.
Incorrect
Do not use small-diameter cookware on large
burners. The flame should never come up the
sides of the cookware.
Avoid cooking without a lid or with the lid half
open as this wastes energy
Do not use a pan with a convex or concave
bottom.
Do not place cookware on one side of a burner,
as it could tip over. Do not use cookware with a
large diameter on the burners near the controls.
If cookware sits too close to the controls or
touches them, the increased heat can damage
the controls.
Never place cookware directly on top of the
burner or burner cap.
Do not place anything, such as a heat diffuser or
asbestos mat, between the cookware and the
grate, as it may cause serious damage to the
appliance.
Do not use excessive weight and do not hit the
cooktop with heavy objects.
CAUTION
Do not use roasting pans, frying pans or grill
stones heated simultaneously on several
burners because the resulting heat build-up may
damage the appliance.
Do not touch cooktop surfaces while cooking or
after cooking until they cool down.
NOTE
As soon as a liquid starts boiling, turn down the
flame to keep the liquid simmering.
Selecting Flame Size
NEVER let the flames extend up the sides of the
cookware.
Watch the flame, not the knob, while reducing the
heat. When fast heating is desired, the flame size
on a gas burner should match the cookware used.
Flames larger than the bottom of the cookware will
not result in faster heating of the cookware and
could be hazardous.

11OPERATION
ENGLISH
Cookware
Aluminum
Medium-weight cookware is recommended
because it heats quickly and evenly. Most of the
foods brown evenly in an aluminum skillet. Use
sauce pans with tight fitting lids when cooking
with minimum amounts of water.
Copper
An excellent heat conductor but discolors easily.
Cast-Iron
If heated slowly, most skillets will give
satisfactory results.
Stainless Steel
This metal alone has poor heating properties
and is usually combined with copper, aluminum
or other metals for improved heat distribution.
Combination metal skillets usually work
satisfactorily if they are used with medium heat
as the manufacturer recommends.
•Enamelware
Under some conditions, the enamel of some
cookware may melt. Follow cookware
manufacturer’s recommendations for cooking
methods.
•Glass
There are two types of glass cookware - those for
oven use only and those for top of the range
cooking (saucepans, coffee and teapots). Glass
conducts heat very slowly.
Heatproof Glass Ceramic
Can be used for either surface or oven cooking.
It conducts heat very slowly and cools very
slowly. Check cookware manufacturer’s
directions to be sure it can be used on gas
ranges.
Using a Wok
Do not use a wok support ring. Placing the ring
over the burner or grate may cause the burner to
work improperly, resulting in carbon monoxide
levels above allowable standards.
This can be a health hazard.
Use a 14 inch or smaller flat bottom wok. Make
sure the wok bottom sits flat on the grate.
Woks are available at a local retail store.
Only a flat-bottomed wok should be used.
Stove-Top Grills
Do not use stove top grills on the surface burners.
Using the stove top grill on the surface burner will
cause incomplete combustion and can result in
exposure to carbon monoxide levels above
allowable current standards.
This can be a health hazard.

WAIVING THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO BRING OR PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION.
Definitions. For the purposes of this section, references to “LG” mean LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc., its
parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, and each of their officers, directors, employees, agents, beneficiaries,
predecessors in interest, successors, assigns and suppliers; references to “dispute” or “claim” shall include
any dispute, claim or controversy of any kind whatsoever (whether based in contract, tort, statute,
regulation, ordinance, fraud, misrepresentation or any other legal or equitable theory) arising out of or
relating in any way to the sale, condition or performance of the product or this Limited Warranty.
Notice of Dispute. In the event you intend to commence an arbitration proceeding, you must first notify
LG in writing at least 30 days in advance of initiating the arbitration by sending a letter to LG at LG
Electronics, USA, Inc. Attn: Legal Department- Arbitration 111 Sylvan Avenue, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632.
You and LG agree to engage in good faith discussions in an attempt to amicably resolve your claim. The
notice must provide your name, address, and telephone number; identify the product that is the subject of
the claim; and describe the nature of the claim and the relief being sought. If you and LG are unable to
resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may proceed to file a claim for arbitration.

Agreement to Binding Arbitration and Class Action Waiver. Upon failure to resolve the dispute during
the 30 day period after sending written notice to LG, you and LG agree to resolve any claims between us
only by binding arbitration on an individual basis, unless you opt out as provided below. Any dispute
between you and LG shall not be combined or consolidated with a dispute involving any other person’s or
entity’s product or claim. More specifically, without limitation of the foregoing, any dispute between you
and LG shall not under any circumstances proceed as part of a class or representative action. Instead of
arbitration, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court, but that small claims court
action may not be brought on a class or representative basis.
Arbitration Rules and Procedures. To begin arbitration of a claim, either you or LG must make a written
demand for arbitration. The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association
(“AAA”) and will be conducted before a single arbitrator under the AAA’s Consumer Arbitration Rules that
are in effect at the time the arbitration is initiated (referred to as the “AAA Rules”) and under the
procedures set forth in this section. The AAA Rules are available online at www.adr.org/consumer. Send a
copy of your written demand for arbitration, as well as a copy of this provision, to the AAA in the manner
described in the AAA Rules. You must also send a copy of your written demand to LG at LG Electronics,
USA, Inc. Attn: Legal Department- Arbitration 111 Sylvan Avenue, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632. If there is a
conflict between the AAA Rules and the rules set forth in this section, the rules set forth in this section will
govern. This arbitration provision is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. Judgment may be entered on
the arbitrator’s award in any court of competent jurisdiction. All issues are for the arbitrator to decide,
except that issues relating to the scope and enforceability of the arbitration provision and to the
arbitrability of the dispute are for the court to decide. The arbitrator is bound by the terms of this
provision.
Governing Law. The law of the state of your residence shall govern this Limited Warranty and any
disputes between us except to the extent that such law is preempted by or inconsistent with applicable
federal law.
Fees/Costs. You do not need to pay any fee to begin an arbitration. Upon receipt of your written demand
for arbitration, LG will promptly pay all arbitration filing fees to the AAA unless you seek more than $25,000
in damages, in which case the payment of these fees will be governed by the AAA Rules. Except as
otherwise provided for herein, LG will pay all AAA filing, administration and arbitrator fees for any
arbitration initiated in accordance with the AAA Rules and this arbitration provision. If you prevail in the
arbitration, LG will pay your attorneys’ fees and expenses as long as they are reasonable, by considering
factors including, but not limited to, the purchase amount and claim amount. Notwithstanding the
foregoing, if applicable law allows for an award of reasonable attorneys’ fees and expenses, an arbitrator
can award them to the same extent that a court would. If the arbitrator finds either the substance of your
claim or the relief sought in the demand is frivolous or brought for an improper purpose (as measured by
the standards set forth in Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 11(b)), then the payment of all arbitration fees will
be governed by the AAA Rules. In such a situation, you agree to reimburse LG for all monies previously
disbursed by it that are otherwise your obligation to pay under the AAA Rules. Except as otherwise
provided for, LG waives any rights it may have to seek attorneys’ fees and expenses from you if LG prevails
in the arbitration.
Hearings and Location. If your claim is for $25,000 or less, you may choose to have the arbitration
conducted solely on the basis of (1) documents submitted to the arbitrator, (2) through a telephonic
hearing, or (3) by an in-person hearing as established by the AAA Rules. If your claim exceeds $25,000, the
right to a hearing will be determined by the AAA Rules. Any in-person arbitration hearings will be held at a
location within the federal judicial district in which you reside unless we both agree to another location or
we agree to a telephonic arbitration.
Opt Out. You may opt out of this dispute resolution procedure. If you opt out, neither you nor LG can
require the other to participate in an arbitration proceeding. To opt out, you must send notice to LG no
later than 30 calendar days from the date of the first consumer purchaser’s purchase of the product by
either: (i) sending an e-mail to [email protected]
, with the subject line: “Arbitration Opt Out” or (ii) calling 1-
800-980-2973. You must include in the opt out e-mail or provide by telephone: (a) your name and address;
(b) the date on which the product was purchased; (c) the product model name or model number; and (d)
the serial number (the serial number can be found (i) on the product; or (ii) online by accessing https://
www.lg.com/us/support/repair-service/schedule-repair-continued and clicking on “Find My Model & Serial
Number”).
You may only opt out of the dispute resolution procedure in the manner described above (that is, by e-mail
or telephone); no other form of notice will be effective to opt out of this dispute resolution procedure.

PROCEDURE FOR RESOLVING DISPUTES:
EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, ALL DISPUTES BETWEEN YOU AND LG ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING
IN ANY WAY TO THIS LIMITED WARRANTY OR THE PRODUCT SHALL BE RESOLVED EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH
BINDING ARBITRATION, AND NOT IN A COURT OF GENERAL JURISDICTION. EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED
AT LAW, YOU AND LG BOTH IRREVOCABLY AGREE TO WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO BRING
OR PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION. FOR CLARITY, THIS PROVISION DOES NOT APPLY TO CONSUMERS
RESIDING IN ONTARIO.
Definitions. For the purposes of this section, references to “LG” mean LG Electronics Canada, Inc., its
parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, and each of their officers, directors, employees, agents, beneficiaries,
predecessors in interest, successors, assigns and suppliers; references to “dispute” or “claim” shall include
any dispute, claim or controversy of any kind whatsoever (whether based in contract, tort, statute,
regulation, ordinance, fraud, misrepresentation or any other legal or equitable theory) arising out of or
relating in any way to the sale, condition or performance of the product or this Limited Warranty.
Notice of Dispute. In the event you intend to commence an arbitration proceeding, you must first notify
LG in writing at least 30 days in advance of initiating the arbitration by sending a letter to LGECI Legal
Team at 20 Norelco Drive, North York, Ontario, Canada M9L 2X6 (the “Notice of Dispute”). You and LG
agree to engage in good faith discussions in an attempt to amicably resolve your claim. The notice must
provide your name, address, and telephone number; identify the product that is the subject of the claim;
and describe the nature of the claim and the relief being sought. If you and LG are unable to resolve the
dispute within 30 days of LG’s receipt of the Notice of Dispute, the dispute shall be resolved by binding
arbitration in accordance with the procedure set out herein. You and LG both agree that, during the
arbitration proceeding, the terms (including any amount) of any settlement offer made by either you or LG
will not be disclosed to the arbitrator until the arbitrator determines the dispute.
Agreement to Binding Arbitration and Class Action Waiver. Upon failure to resolve the dispute during
the 30 day period after LG’s receipt of the Notice of Dispute, you and LG agree to resolve any claims
between you and LG only by binding arbitration on an individual basis, unless you opt out as provided
below, or you reside in a jurisdiction that prevents full application of this clause in the circumstances of the
claims at issue (in which case if you are a consumer, this clause will only apply if you expressly agree to the
arbitration). To the extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute between you and LG shall not be
combined or consolidated with a dispute involving any other person’s or entity’s product or claim. More
specifically, without limitation of the foregoing, except to the extent such a prohibition is not permitted at
law, any dispute between you and LG shall not under any circumstances proceed as part of a class or
representative action. Instead of arbitration, either party may bring an individual action in small claims
court, but that small claims court action may not be brought on a class or representative basis except to
the extent this prohibition is not permitted at law in your province or territory of jurisdiction as it relates to
the claims at issue between you and LG. This does not apply to consumers in Ontario. In accordance with
provincial legislation, the consumer and LG may agree to resolve the dispute using any procedure
available, including commencing the action in the Superior Court of Justice.
Arbitration Rules and Procedures. To begin arbitration of a claim, either you or LG must make a written
demand for arbitration. The arbitration will be private and confidential, and conducted on a simplified and
expedited basis before a single arbitrator chosen by the parties under the provincial or territorial
commercial arbitration law and rules of the province or territory of your residence. You must also send a
copy of your written demand to LG at LG Electronics, Canada, Inc., Attn: Legal Department- Arbitration, 20
Norelco Drive, North York, Ontario M9L 2X6. This arbitration provision is governed by your applicable
provincial or territorial commercial arbitration legislation. For consumers in Ontario, the applicable
arbitration legislation only applies if consumers agree to submit the dispute to arbitration. Judgment may
be entered on the arbitrator’s award in any court of competent jurisdiction. All issues are for the arbitrator
to decide, except that, issues relating to the scope and enforceability of the arbitration provision and to the
arbitrability of the dispute are for the court to decide. The arbitrator is bound by the terms of this
provision.
Governing Law. The law of the province or territory of your purchase shall govern this Limited Warranty
and any disputes between you and LG except to the extent that such law is preempted by or inconsistent
with applicable federal or provincial/territorial law. Should arbitration not be permitted for any claim,
action, dispute or controversy between you and LG, you and LG attorn to the exclusive jurisdiction of the
courts of the province or territory of your purchase for the resolution of the claim, action, dispute or
controversy between you and LG.

22 LIMITED WARRANTY
Fees/Costs. You do not need to pay any fee to begin an arbitration. Upon receipt of your written demand
for arbitration, LG will promptly pay all arbitration filing fees unless you seek more than $25,000 in
damages, in which case the payment of these fees will be governed by the applicable arbitration rules.
Except as otherwise provided for herein, LG will pay all filing, administration and arbitrator fees for any
arbitration initiated in accordance with the applicable arbitration rules and this arbitration provision. If you
prevail in the arbitration, LG will pay your attorneys’ fees and expenses as long as they are reasonable, by
considering factors including, but not limited to, the purchase amount and claim amount. Notwithstanding
the foregoing, if applicable law allows for an award of reasonable attorneys’ fees and expenses, an
arbitrator can award them to the same extent that a court would. If the arbitrator finds either the
substance of your claim or the relief sought in the demand is frivolous or brought for an improper purpose
(as measured by the applicable laws), then the payment of all arbitration fees will be governed by the
applicable arbitration rules. In such a situation, you agree to reimburse LG for all monies previously
disbursed by it that are otherwise your obligation to pay under the applicable arbitration rules. Except as
otherwise provided for, LG waives any rights it may have to seek attorneys’ fees and expenses from you if
LG prevails in the arbitration.
Hearings and Location. If your claim is for $25,000 or less, you may choose to have the arbitration
conducted solely (1) on the basis of documents submitted to the arbitrator, (2) through a telephonic
hearing, or (3) by an in-person hearing as established by the applicable arbitration rules. If your claim
exceeds $25,000, the right to a hearing will be determined by the applicable arbitration rules. Any in-
person arbitration hearings will be held at the nearest, most mutually-convenient arbitration location
available within the province or territory in which you reside unless you and LG both agree to another
location or agree to a telephonic arbitration.
Severability and Waiver. If any portion of this Limited Warranty (including these arbitration procedures)
is unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect to the maximum extent
permitted by applicable law. Should LG fail to enforce strict performance of any provision of this Limited
Warranty (including these arbitration procedures), it does not mean that LG intends to waive or has waived
any provision or part of this Limited Warranty.
Opt Out. The arbitration provision requires you and LG to resolve disputes by binding arbitration instead
of court, unless the laws of your province or territory do not permit that, or, in other jurisdictions, if you
choose to opt out. The arbitration provision does not apply to consumers in Ontario.
For individuals that fall within the binding arbitration provisions, you may opt out of this dispute resolution
procedure. If you opt out, neither you nor LG can require the other to participate in an arbitration
proceeding. To opt out, you must send notice to LG no later than 30 calendar days from the date of the
first consumer purchaser’s purchase of the product by either (i) sending an e-mail to [email protected]
, with
the subject line: “Arbitration Opt Out;” or (ii) calling 1- 800-980-2973
. You must include in the opt out e-mail
or provide by telephone: (a) your name and address; (b) the date on which the product was purchased; (c)
the product model name or model number; and (d) the serial number (the serial number can be found (i)
on the product; or (ii) online by accessing https://www.lg.com/ca_en/findmodel_serial/
).
In the event that you “Opt Out”, the law of the province or territory of your residence shall govern this
Limited Warranty and any disputes between you and LG except to the extent that such law is preempted
by or inconsistent with applicable federal or provincial/territorial law. Should arbitration not be permitted
for any claim, action, dispute or controversy between you and LG, you and LG agree to attorn to the
exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the province or territory of your residence for the resolution of the
claim, action, dispute or controversy between you and LG.
You may only opt out of the dispute resolution procedure in the manner described above (that is, by e-mail
or telephone); no other form of notice will be effective to opt out of this dispute resolution procedure.
Opting out of this dispute resolution procedure will not affect the coverage of the Limited Warranty in any
way, and you will continue to enjoy the full benefits of the Limited Warranty. If you keep this product and
do not opt out, then you accept all terms and conditions of the arbitration provision described above.
Conflict of Terms. In the event of a conflict or inconsistency between the terms of this Limited Warranty
and the End User License Agreement (“EULA”) in regards to dispute resolution, the terms of this Limited
Warranty shall control and govern the rights and obligations of the parties and shall take precedence over
the EULA.
