forexample,recognizefacesorlicenseplates,movethenormallightpriorityslidertowardlowmotionblur.Atnighttime,motion

detectionismoreimportantthanidentication.Motionblurisacceptableandsincelowlightcancausealotofnoise,move

thelowlightpriorityslidertowardlownoise.

Example

Ifstoragespaceorbandwidthislimited,tryusingalowergain.Thiswillreduceimagenoiseandproducesmallerimageles.

PrivacyMask

Aprivacymaskisauser-denedareathatpreventusersfromviewingpartsofthemonitoredarea.Privacymasksappearas

blocksofsolidcolororblurredimageelementsandareappliedonthevideostream.Privacymaskscannotbebypassedusingthe

VAPIX®applicationprogramminginterface(API).

ThePrivacyMaskList(Video&Audio>PrivacyMask)showsallthemasksthatarecurrentlyconguredintheAxisproductand

indicatesiftheyareenabled.

Youcanaddanewmask,re-sizethemaskwiththemouse,chooseacolorforthemask,andgivethemaskaname.

Addingmanyprivacymasksmayaffecttheproduct’sperformance.

Note

Privacymaskisnotavailableforthequadstream.However,privacymasksconguredoneachchannelwillbedisplayed

inthequad.

Quadstream

AQuadviewdisplaysimagesfromallfourchannelsonasinglescreen;wheretheimagesfromeachcameratakeupaquarterof

thedisplayarea.Itispossibletodenesettingsforthevideostreaminquadview.

StreamProles

Astreamproleisasetofpredenedstreamsettingsincludingresolution,compression,framerateandoverlaysettings.Stream

prolescanbeused:

•Whensettinguprecordingusingactionrules.SeeEventsonpage33.

•Whensettingupcontinuousrecording.SeeContinuousRecordingonpage39.

•IntheLiveViewpage–selectthestreamprolefromtheStreamproledrop-downlist.

Forquicksetup,useoneofthepredenedstreamproles.Eachpredenedprolehasadescriptivename,indicatingitspurpose.If

required,thepredenedstreamprolescanbemodiedandnewcustomizedstreamprolescanbecreated.

Tocreateanewproleormodifyanexistingprole,gotoSetup>Video&Audio>StreamProles.

Overlay

Overlaysareusedtoprovideextrainformation,forexampleforforensicvideoanalysisorduringproductinstallationand
