DRYER WON'T START
CLOTHES TAKE TOO
LONG _ DRY
POSSIBLE CAUSE AND REMEDY

• Dryer unplugged. Makesure cord is plugged in.
• No power to dryer. Cheek fuses and circuit breakers to make sure dryer is getting
currant. Amomatic electric dryers may use two.
eControls improperly set. Make sure timer is set and START control is turned.
eDryer door is open. Make sure duer door is securely closed. DiTer will not run with
door open.
If dryer still does not operate, call for service.
•Controls improperly set. Check all controls to make surethey are correctly set for
the loadyouwislito dry.
*Failure to cleanlint filter.Remove and clean lint filtereachtime diner is used.
Periodically clean area under lint filterwith vacuum cleaner.
•Improper ducting. Make sure dryer is ductedinaccordance with Instigation
Instructions.
.Obstruction in exhaustducting. Make sure ducting is clean and freeof obstruction,
and make sure damper in outside wall cap operates easily. If flexible ducting is used,
be sure it is not kinked and is installed according to Instigation Instructions.
• Blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers. Check household fuses or circuit breakers.
Most electric &Ters use two. It is possible for one to be blown or tripped, and the dlTer
still tunable without heat.
• Improper sorting. Do not,,,,x heavy, hard-to-& y items with lightweight articles.
• Too many items in dryer. Dry only one washer load at a time. Do not combine loads.
• Too few items in dryer. If drying only one article, add two more similar articles, even
if du, to ensure proper tumbling.
• 120-volt operation. If your &Ter is operating on 120-volt circuit, longer &Ting times
could be normal. The drying on this circuit takes about three times as long as on a
240-volt circuit.
• Excessively wet clothes. Check washer; it may be malfunctioning.
