Be sure your power supply agrees with the nameplate
marking. Voltage decrease of more than 10% will cause loss
of power and overheating.

WARNING: Never modify the power tool or any part

Refer to Figure A at the beginning of this manual for a
complete list ofcomponents.
Intended Use
Your heavy-duty small angle grinder has been designed
for professional grinding, sanding, wire brush, and cut-off
applications at various work sites (i.e., constructionsites).
DO NOT use under wet conditions or in presence of
flammable liquids orgases.
Your heavy-duty small angle grinders is a professional
power tool. DO NOT let children come into contact with the
tool. Supervision is required when inexperienced operators
use thistool.
ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, turn unit off and disconnect it from
power source before making any adjustments or
removing/installing attachments or accessories.
An accidental start-up can causeinjury.
Attaching Side Handle (Fig. A)
WARNING: Before using the tool, check that the
handle is tightenedsecurely.
Screw the side handle

tightly into one of the holes on
either side of the gear case. The side handle should always
be used to maintain control of the tool at alltimes.
Guards
CAUTION: Guards must be used with all grinding
wheels, cutting wheels, sanding flap discs,
wire brushes, and wire wheels. The tool may
be used without a guard only when sanding with
conventional sanding discs. Refer to Figure A to see
guards provided with the unit. Some applications may
require purchasing the correct guard from your local
dealer or authorized servicecenter.
NOTE: Edge grinding and cutting can be performed with
Type 27 wheels designed and specified for this purpose;
6.35 mm thick wheels are designed for surface grinding
while thinner Type 27 wheels need to be examined for
the manufacturer's label to see if they can be used for
surface grinding or only edge grinding/cutting. A Type 1
guard must be used for any wheel where surface grinding
is forbidden. Cutting can also be performed by using a
Type41 wheel and a Type 1guard.
NOTE: See the Accessories Chart to select the proper guard
/ accessorycombination.
Fitting and Removing the Guard

CAUTION: Unplug the tool before mounting or
removing the guard. Guards must be used with all
grinding wheels and sanding flap discs, wire brushes
and wire wheels. The tool may be used without the
guard only when sand ing with conventional sanding
discs. Before reconnecting the tool, depress and
release the rear part of the switch to ensure that the
tool isoff.
Fitting Guard
CAUTION: Do not operate grinder with a loose guard
or the guard latch in the openposition.
1. Open the guard latch

and align the arrow on the
guard with the arrow on the gearcase.
2. Push the guard down until the guard lugs engage and
rotate freely in the groove on the gearcase.
3. With the guard latch open, rotate the guard into the
working position providing maximum protection to the
user (Fig.C).
4. Close the guard latch to secure guard on gear case
(Fig.C).
NOTE: The guard is pre-adjusted to the diameter of the
spindle hub at the factory. If the guard needs further
adjustment after a period of use, perform the following ad just-
ment. With the guard latch in the closed position tighten or
loos en the adjustment screw

Removing Guard
1. Open the guard latch

and align the arrow on the
guard with the arrow on the gearcase.
2. Pull the guard up until the guard lugs engage and rotate
freely in the groove on the gearcase.
3. With the guard latch open, rotate the guard until the
arrows are aligned. (Fig.C).
4. Remove theguard.
CAUTION: Do not tighten adjusting screw with guard
latch in open position. Undetectable damage to the
guard or the mounting hub mayresult.
