AND EXCELLENCE SINCE 1912
Since the turn of the 20th century, Tower has been designing,
developing and manufacturing housewares and small
appliances used by millions of households throughout the
UK and beyond. During the 1960s, the rise in popularity
of pressure cooking saw Tower become the UK’s largest
producer of pressure cookers, right through into the late
1980s. In recent years the Tower brand has been reborn with
an exciting and varied range of housewares and electrical
appliances that have quickly reinstated the brand’s richly

1. Remove your appliance from the packaging.
2. Your appliance is now ready for normal use.
3. Dispose of the packaging in a responsible manner.
1. Plug the can opener into a suitable mains socket. Take care to ensure the cable
is not bent or kinked before plugging in the appliance.
2. Raise the lever into the upright position.
3. To pierce the can, insert it into the unit so that the lower edge of the can lip
rests on top of the drive wheel. Ensure that the cutting edge is on the inside of
the can lip.
4. Push the can opener lever down firmly until the can is fully opened by the
mechanism. When the can is fully open, the cutting action will automatically
stop. The can will remain in position until the lever is raised.
5. To release the can, grasp the can firmly in one hand and raise the lever with the
other hand. The magnetic lid holder will retain the lid.
CAUTION! When removing the lid there may be some sharp edges. Do not
touch them to avoid injury.
Jammed Cans:
To open a can that has become jammed, raise the can opener lever and release the
can. Begin the cutting action again in a new place on the can lip.
Using The Knife Sharpener:
1. Ensure the knife is clean and free of grease.
2. Place the heel of the knife into the guide slot located on the back of can
opener.
CAUTION! To prevent the risk of injury, ALWAYS take care to ensure your
fingers are out of the way of the blade when sharpening.
CAUTION! The blade is very sharp. Take extreme care when handling the knife
and blade.
Note: It may help for the knife sharpener to be placed on its front while in use.
3. Press the lever down and lightly draw the blade towards you, applying slight
downward pressure.
Note: Do not let the knife cut into the body of the can opener.
4. Repeat this procedure six to seven times to sharpen the knife. Do not attempt
to sharpen hollow ground blades or those with serrated edges. The grinding
wheel may jam if too much pressure is applied on the knife. Lift the knife
slightly to release the wheel.
