SEALED BURNERS
Thesealedburnersaresecuredtothe cooktop
andare not designedto be removed. Since
the burners are sealed into the cooktop,
boiloversor spillswill not seep underneath
the cooktop.
However,theburnersshouldbe cleanedafter
eachuse.Theheadportionofthe burnerhas
a removablecap that is easily removedfor
cleaning. (See page 6 for cleaning direc-
tions.)
Burnercaps mustbecorrectlyplacedonthe
burnerbaseforproperoperationoftheburner.
HIGH PERFORMANCE
BURNER*
There is one high speed burner on your
cooktop, locatedin the right front position.
Thisburneroffershigherspeedcookingthat
can be used to quicklybringwater to a boil
andfor large-quantitycooking.
SIMMER BURNER*
This burneris locatedin the centeror right
rear position.The simmer burneroffers a
lower BTU flame for delicate sauces or
meltingchocolate.
*BTUratingswill vary whenusingLPgas.
BURNER GRATES
The gratesmustbe properlypositionedbe-
forecooking. Toensureproperpositioning,
align bumperson grate bottom with the
indentationsin the cooktop.
Donot operate the burners withoutapan
on the grate. The grate's porcelainfinish
may chip withouta pan to absorb the
heat from the burner flame.
Although the burner grates are durable,
they will gradually lose their shine and/or
discolor,duetothe hightemperaturesofthe
gas flame.
> A properlyadjustedburnerwithcleanportswilllightwithinafew seconds.Ifusingnatural
gas,the flamewill be bluewitha deeperblueinnercone.
Ifthe burnerflameis yellowor is noisy,the air/gasmixturemaybeincorrect.Contacta
servicetechnicianto adjust.(Adjustmentsare notcovered by the warranty.)
With LP gas, some yellow tips on the flames are acceptable.This is normal and
adjustmentis not necessary.
> With some typesof gas, you may hear a "popping"soundwhenthe surfaceburneris
turnedoff. This is a normaloperatingsoundof the burner.
> To improvecookingefficiencyand to preventpossibledamageto the cooktopor pan,
the flamemust beadjustedso it does not extendbeyondthe edgeof the pan.
