Wiring Safety for UK Use Only
IMPORTANT
As the colours in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in
your plug, please proceed as follows:
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
Blue neutral [N] Brown live [L]
Plug Fitting Details (Where Applicable).
The wire coloured blue is the neutral and must
be connected to the terminal marked [N] or
coloured black.
The wire coloured brown is the live wire and
must be connected to the terminal marked [L]
or coloured red.
On no account must either the brown or
the blue wire be connected to the [EARTH]
terminal .
Always ensure that the cord grip is fastened
correctly.
The plug must be fitted with a fuse of the
same rating already fitted and conforming to
BS 1362 and be ASTA approved.
If in doubt consult a qualified electrician who
will be pleased to do this for you.
Non-Rewireable Mains Plug.
If your appliance is supplied with a non-
rewireable plug fitted to the mains lead and
should the fuse need replacing, you must use
an ASTA approved one (conforming to BS 1362
of the same rating).
If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician who
will be pleased to do this for you.
If you need to remove the plug – disconnect
it from the mains – and then cut it off of the
mains lead and immediately dispose of it in a
safe manner. Never attempt to reuse the plug
or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a
danger of an electric shock.
WARNING:
This appliance is double insulated.
Do not connect any wire to the earth terminal.

Preparing The Knife:
Note: DO NOT plug the knife into the mains before the blades have been inserted.
1. To prepare the knife for use, begin by installing the blades. To do this, start by removing them
from their protective package, taking care to keep your palm on the dull side of the blade and
your fingers away from the sharp edge.
2. Lay both blades parallel to each other with the metal pin from one blade to be locked into the
slot of the other.
3. Grip both blades together at the blade guard and glide into the housing until they snap in.
4. Test the locked-in security of the blades by applying a light pressure in the reverse direction.
When attempting to remove the blades to test their security, it is recommended to have the
protective sheath fitted in order to avoid an accident.
5. The appliance is now ready for operation.
Removing The Blades:
1. To remove the blades, begin by unplugging the unit from the mains.
2. Once the unit is unplugged, press the blade release button and pull the blades upwards and
away from the main body of the unit until they detach completely.
Note: When removing the blades, take care to keep your palm on the dull side of the blade and your
fingers away from the sharp edge.
CAUTION! ALWAYS disconnect the knife from the mains when removing the blades, to prevent
injury.
Using Your Electric Knife:
1. Carefully remove the protective sleeve from the blades.
2. Attach the two blades together as described in the Preparing the Knife section above.
