If you connect any external batteries, set the
Battery Charge Level Switches (see
3b
) to the
down position (High Charge Rate – External
Battery). This will increase your UPS’s charger
output so that the additional batteries charge
faster.
Caution! DO NOT set the Battery
Charge Level Switches to the
down position (High Charge Rate –
External Battery) without an external
battery connected. There is a risk of
damaging the UPS’s internal battery
system.
Caution! When an external battery
pack is connected, make sure
the AC load does not exceed the
nameplate rating.
Your UPS supports the following battery packs available from Tripp Lite. Contact
Tripp Lite Customer Support at 773.869.1234 for the appropriate Tripp Lite battery
pack to continue.
48V Battery Packs
• BP48V24-2U, 18AH (limit 1)
• BP48V27-2US (unlimited)
• BP48V60RT-3U (unlimited)
When installing your UPS with external batteries, be sure to connect the ground
strap between the external battery packs to the metal enclosure of the UPS before
connecting to the two-conductor external battery pack cables. Follow installation
directions in accordance with the external battery pack owner’s manual using the
ground strap included with the external battery packs.
