MAINTENANCE
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the tool is
switched o and the battery cartridge is removed before
attempting to perform inspection or maintenance.

Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner, alcohol
or the like. Discoloration, deformation or cracks may result.

Cleaning up chip discharge openings
Cleanthechipdischargeopeningsregularly.
Use a compressed air to clean the clogged chip dis-
charge openings.
Sharpening blades
For conventional planer blades only
Alwayskeepyourplanerbladessharpforthebestperfor-
mance.Usethesharpeningholder(optionalaccessory)to
renetheplanerbladeedgessafelyandeectively.

Loosen the two wing nuts in the sharpening holder.
2. Slip the back ends of the planer blades into the
mountingslotsasfarastheywillgowiththecutting
edges to be sharpened facing downwards.

Tighten the wing nuts to secure the planer blades in place.
4. Soak a dressing stone in water for 2 or 3 minutes
before sharpening.
5.
Holdthesharpeningholderrmly,andgentlyplace
the cutting edges over the surface of the dressing stone.
6. Sharpenthecuttingedgesbymovingthesharpen-
ing holder back and forwards.
