Unpacking Your Refrigerator
1, Remove all packaging material. This includes the foam base and all adhesive
tape holding the refrigerator accessories inside and outside. Slide out and
remove the plastic or foam guard used to protect the compressor from shipping
damage due to vibration and shock.
2. Inspect and remove any remaining packaging, tape or printed materials
before powering on the refrigerator.
3. Check to be sure you have all accessories and parts listed inthe Parts and
Features section.
Proper Air Circulation
To ensure that your refrigerator works at the maximum efficiency it was
designed for, you should install it in a location where there is proper air
circulation, plumbing and electrical connections.
The following are recommended clearances around the refrigerator :
Sides ...................3/4 inches (19mm)
Top......................2 inches (50mm)
Back .................. 2 inches (50ram)
Electrical Requirements
Make sure there is a suitable power outlet (115volts, 15amps) with
proper grounding to power the refrigerator.
WARNING: NEVER cut oF the third grounding prong in order to
no effective grounding for the refrigerator and may result in serious
accommodate a two prong outlet. This is a dangerous practice since it provides
injury from electrical shock.
Installation
Your refrigerator is designed for freestanding installation ont4 It should not be
recessed or built-in. Place the refrigerator on a floor strong enough to support it fully
loaded. When moving the refrigerator, never tilt it by more than a 45 degrees angle. This
could damage the compressor and the sealed system.
tf the refrigerator has been tilted more than 45 degrees, let it stand inan upright
position for at least 24 hours prior to plugging it into the power source. This
will allow the refrigerant to settle and reduce the possibility of a malfunction in
the cooling system.
Plug the refrigerator into an exclusive, properly installed grounded wall outlet,
Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the third (grounding) prong from
the power cord. See the WARNING in Electrical Requirements on the previous
page. Any questions concerning power and/or grounding should be directed
toward a certified electrician or a Sears or other qualified service dealer
After plugging the appliance into a wall outlet, allow the unit to cool down for
2-3 hours before placing food into the refrigeraton
Installation Limitations
Do not install your refrigerator in any location not properly insulatedor
heated, suchas a garage,etc.Your refrigerator was not designedto operate in temperature
settingsbelow 55° Fahrenheit.Select a suitable location for the refrigerator on a hard
evensurface away from direct sunlightor heatsources suchas radiators, baseboard heaters,
cooking appliances, etc.

Door Reversal
CAUTION : To avoid injury to yourself and/or property, we recommend
someone assist you during the door reversal process.
1,To access lower hinge, tilt back the refrigerator cabinet (A void
tilting the refrigerator 45 degrees)
2, Remove left adjustable leg located at the front of the cabinet
(Fig.A).
3, Remove the screws holding the lower hinge to the cabinet
(Fig.A).
4, Remove the lower door from the refrigerator cabinet (open
door and pull down).
5, Remove the screws from the middle hinge, then remove the
middle hinge and upper door (open door and pull down).
6, Remove the hinge cover and then remove the upper hinge
(Fig.C).
NOTE: Be careful to retain all gaskets and washers in
position when removing and reinstalling hinges.
7,Remove the hole plugs fixed top hinge. Remove the door plugs
located on the top of each door.
8, Re-install the upper hinge on the opposite side of the cabinet,
re-install the hinge cover (Fig.C).
9, Re-fit the door plugs on the opposite sides of both doors.
Install the hole plug on the hinge fixing hole.
10, Re-install the upper door on cabinet.
11,Remove the middle hinge plugs from the divider panel
between the upper and lower compartment (Fig.B).
Re-fit plugs on opposite side of panel. Re-install middle hinge using holes
exposed from removal of plugs. Re-fit the plug on the opposite side of panel.
12, Re-install the lower door on cabinet.
13, Re-install the lower hinge on the opposite side of cabinet base.
14, Re-install the adjustable leg to the opposite side of cabinet.
15,Make sure the doors are properly aligned on the cabinet before
tightening the screws.
The process is now complete.

initial Use
To reach the set coldness level when operating the refrigerator for the first time, run it without food
load until you hear the compressor stop. This usually takes 2 to 3 hours. Once the set temperature is
reached, load food into the refrigerator.
Note: tf the refrigerator has been placed in a horizontal or
titted position for any period of time, wait 24 hours before plugging it in.
Temperature Control
The first time you turn the unit on, adjust the temperature control knob
to Recommended setting and give your refrigerator time to cool down
completely before adding food; a full 24 hours is recommended. After ÷_,i!'_';'2''_'_:::_
it is fully cooled, test it and adjust towards COLD to make less cool
or towards COLDEST to cool more to best suit your needs.
Note: Turning the temperature control knob to the OFF position will stop the
cooling cycle but does not shut off power to the unit.
Defrosting Your Refrigerator
For maximum energy efficiency, defrost freezer section whenever frost accumulates to a thickness of
1/8" or more on freezer walls. Note that frost tends to accumulate more during the summer months.
To defrost freezer, turn the temperature control dial to OFF. Open both freezer and refrigerator door
and remove ice cube tray and all food items from both compartments. Defrosting will take several
hours, so store the food in another refrigerator in the meantime. Once defrosting is complete, replace
ice cube tray and food in both compartments.
Defrosting may take a few hours. To speed up defrost time, keep the door open and place a bowl
of warm water in the refrigerator.
You may now reset your refrigerator to the desired temperature and return food.
Normal Operating Sounds You May Hear
Boiling water, gurgling sounds or slight vibrations that are the result of the
refrigerant circulating through the cooling coils
The thermostat control will click when it cycles on and off.

Cleaning and Maintenance
WARNING: To avoid electric shock, always unplug your refrigerator before
cleaning. Ignoringthiswarning may result in death or injury.
CAUTION: Before using cleaning products, always read and understand the cleaning processes.

personal injury or product damage.
General Cleaning
Prepare a cleaning solution of ] to 2 tablespoons of baking soda mixed with warm water. Usea
sponge or soft cloth, dampened with the cleaning solution, to wipe down your refrigerator.
Rinse with dean warm water and dry with a soft cloth.
Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, ammonia, chlorine bleach, concentrated detergents,
solvents or metal scouring pads. Some of these chemicals may dissolve, damage and/or discolor your
refrigerator.
Door Gaskets
Clean door gaskets every three months according to the instructions described above in General
Cleaning.
Gaskets must be kept dean and pliable to ensure a proper seal.
Petroleum jelly applied lightly on the hinge side of gaskets will keep the
gaskets pliable and ensure agood seal.
Power Interruptions
Occasionally there may be power interruptions due to thunderstorms or other causes. Remove the
power cord plug from the AC outlet when a power outage occurs. When power has been restored
after a prolonged outage, inspect all food for spoilage. Clean the inside of the refrigerator and
freezer compartment before reuse.
Vacation and Moving Care
For long vacations or absences, unplug the unit, empty food from both compartments, move
the temperature dial to the OFF position and clean the door gaskets according to the General
Cleaning section. Prop door open, so air can circulate inside. When moving, always move the
refrigerator verticall% Do not move unit when in a horizontal position, as possible damage to the
sealed system could occur.

Enchufeel frigodfico en unatoma de corriente exclusiva, apropiadamente instatada con
toma de tierra. Bajo ningunacircunstancia corte ni quite la tercera patitta (tierra) deI cable
de alimentaci6n. Cualquier pregunta con respecto a Ia alimentaci6n y/o taconexi6n a tierra
debe dirigirse a unetectricista certificado o hacia Searsuotro comerciante cualificado de
servicio. Despu@sde enchufar el aparato en unatoma de corriente de la pared, deje que la
unidad seenfrle durante 2-3 horas antesde colocar alimentos en el frigodfico.
Limitaciones de la instalaci6n
No instalesufrigorifico en ningOnlugar no aislado apropiadamente o
caliente, como ungaraje etc. Sufrigorifico nofue diseBado para funciona a temperatura
por debajo de 55° FahrenheitSeleccione una posici6n conveniente para el frigorifico en una
superficie dura lejos de la luz directa del sol o fuentesde cator, como radiadores, calentadoras
de z6calo, aparatos de cocina, etc.

Inversi6n de la puerta
PRECAUCI6N: Para evitar da_arse a usted mismo y/o la propiedad, le
recomendamos que atguien le ayude durante et proceso de inversi6n de
la puerta.
1.Parael acceso a la bisagra inferior,incline hacia atr6s el
armario del refrigerador (Eviteinclinar el refrigerador a 45
grados)
2. Quite el pie izquierdo ajustable Iocalizado en la parte
delantera del armario (Fig.A).
3.Quite los tornillos sujetando la bisagra inferior al armario
(Fig.A).
4. Quite la puerta inferior del armario del refrigerador (abra
la puerta y b6jela).
5.Quite los tornillos de la bisagra media, despuesquite la
bisagra media y la puerta superior (abra la puerta y b@jela).
6.Quite la tapa de bisagra y despues quite la bisagra superior
(Fig.C).
Nota: Tengacuidado de retener todas las juntas y arandelas en
posici6n al quitar y reinstalar las bisagras.
Z Quite lostapones para orificios fijados en la bisagra superior.
Quite lostapones de puerta Iocalizados en la parte superior
de cada puerta.
8. Reinstalelabisagra superior enel lado opuesto del armario,
reinstale la tapa de bisagra (Fig.C).
9.Refije lostapones de puerta en los lados opuestosde ambas
puertas. Instaleel tap6n para orificio en el orificio para fijaci6n de bisagra.
10.Reinstalela puerta superior en el armario.
11.Quite lostapones de bisagra media del panel divisor entre el
compartimiento superior y el inferior (Fig.B).
12.Reinstalela puerta inferior en el armario.
13.Reinstalela bisagra inferior enel lado opuesto de la base del armario.
14.Reinstaleel pie ajustable al lado opuesto del armario.
15.AsegOresede que las puertas estencorrectamente alineadas enel armario
antesde apretar lostornillos.
Ahora setermina el proceso.
Uso inicial
Paraalcanzar el nivel de frb establecido cuando el frigorifico se hace funcionar por primera vez,
p6ngalo en funcionamiento sinalimentos hastaque seoiga que el compresor sedetiene. Estotarda
generalmente de 2 a 3 horas. Unavez quese alcanza tatemperatura establecida, cargue con
alimentos el frigorffico
Nota: siel frigorffico seha colocado en una posici6n horizontal o se inclin6 durante algOn
periodo de tiempo, espere 24 horas antesde conectarlo.
Control de Temperatura
Cuando enciende la unidad por primera vez,ajuste el bot6n de control de
temperatura a la configuraci6n recomendada y de surefrigerador tiempo o
para enfriarse completamente antesde aBadir comida; unperfodo
completo de 24 horases recomendado. Despuesde que se halle
totalmente enfriado, pr6belo y ajuste hacia FR/Opara hacerlo menosfrio
o hacia MUY FR/Opara hacerlo m6sfrio para satisfacer mejor susnecesidades.
Nota: Girando el bot6n de control de temperatura a la posici6n APAGADO, se pondr6 final ciclo
de refrigeraci6n, pero noseapagar6 launidad.
Descongelando Su Refrigerador
Parala m6xima eficiencia energ@ica, descongele la secci6n del congelador cuando la escarcha se
acumula a unespesor de 1/8" o m6sen las paredes del congelador. Leinformamosque la escarcha
tienda a acumularse en losmesesde verano. Paradescongelar el congelador, gire el selector de
control de temperatura a APAGADO. Abra la puerta del refrigerador y ladel congelador, y quite
cubitera y toda comida de ambos compartimientos. Ladescongelaci6n puede tardar unas horas,
por eso, durante este periodo, guarde la comida en otro refrigerador. Unavez terminada la
descongelaci6n, reemplace cubitera y comida en ambos compartimientos.
Eldeshielo puede durar unaspocas horas.Paraaceterar ettiernpo de deshielo, mantenga abierta la
puerta y coloque untaz6n de agua tibia en el frigorffico.

Limpieza y Mantenimiento

Limpieza general
Prepareuna soluci6n de timpieza de 1a 2 cucharones de bicarbonato de sosa mezclado con
agua tibia. Utilice una esponja o trapo suave,humedecido con la soluci6nde limpieza, para
frotar sufrigorifico.
Aciare con agua tibia limpia y seque con untrapo suave.
No utilice sustanciasqulmicas duras,abrasivos,amoniaco, lej_ade clara, detergentes concentrados,
disolventes o estropajos met61icos.Algunas de estas sustanciasquimicas pueden disolver da_ar
y/o decoIorar sufrigorifico.
Juntas de la puerto
Limpielas juntas de la puerta cada tres mesessegOnlas instruccionesdescritas antesen Limpieza
General.
Lasjuntas deben mantenerselimpiasy flexibtes para garantizar uncierre apropiado. Unpoco de
vaselinaaplicada en el tado de las bisagras de lasjunta mantendr6 lajunta fexible y asegurar6
un buencierre.
Interrupciones de alimentaci6n
Ocasionatmente puede haber interrupciones de alimentaci6n debido a tormentas uarras causas.
Quite eI cable de alimentaci6n de la toma de C.A. cuando seproduzca unapag6n. Cuando la
atimentaci6n se restaure despu_s de unapag6n protongado, inspeccione todos los alimentos par
si sehan deteriorado. Limpieel interior del compartimiento de frigorifico y congelador antes de
volver a empleartos.
Cuidado en vacaciones y movimiento
Paravacaciones o ausenciaslargas, desenchufe Ia unidad, vade de alimentosambos
compartimientos, mueva ia rutetade temperatura a la posici6n"OFF"y limpie ias juntas de ta
puerta segOnIa secci6n "LimpiezaGeneral". Sostenga ta puerto abierta, de modo que el aire pueda
circular dentro. AI moverto, muevasiempreel frigorlflco verticaimente. No muevala unidad cuando
est@en unaposici6n horizontal, ya que sepueden producir da5os aI sistemade sellado.

Si el ajuste del control de temperatura es demasiado frio, aj6stelo
a un valor m6s tibia y espere varias horas para que la temperatura
se ajuste.
Esto puede ser normal para mantener la temperatura constante en dJas
de alto temperatura y h6medos.
Los puertas pueden haberse abierto con frecuencia o durante un periodo
de tiempa prolongado.
Compruebe que los juntas realizan un cierre aprapiado,
Compruebe si los puertas est6n camptetamente cerrodas.
Esto es normal durante perlodos de alto humedad. Reduzca prolongadas
o frecuentes aperturas de la puerto. Compruebe que las juntas de la
puerto seJlan correctamente.
El interior necesita una limpieza.
Los alimentos incorrectamente envueltos o envasados exhoJan olores.
Nivele el frigorifico.
Vea la secci6n de Inversi6n de la Puerto para obtener la descripci6n
de los caracterlsticas de fijaci6n de la puerto. Compruebe si hay
obstrucciones creadas par envases de alimentos, baldas_ etc.
