Tips for grilling:
Your meat will be tender if you marinade it overnight before cooking (the marinade is always
made of oil (to moisten), vinegar (to tenderize) and a mixture of seasonings).
To prevent foods from sticking to the cooking surface, use a long handled brush to apply a
light coat of cooking or vegetable oil before each barbecuing session.
Always use tongs or some form of scoop to turn the grilled food (using a fork to turn the food
will dry it out and damage the coating).
Only turn meat and fish once during grilling. You do not need to turn it more than once too
much turning will dry food out.
Cleaning & Care:
Regularly clean your barbecue between uses and especially after extended periods of storage.
Appliance maintenance checks should be carried out at least once a month.
FOR YOUR SAFETY:
All cleaning and maintenance should
be carried out when the barbecue is
cool and with the fuel supply turned
OFF at the gas cylinder.
CAUTION
Cleaning:
“Burning off” the barbecue after every use (for approximately 15 minutes) will keep excessive food
residue to a minimum. After each cooking session, turn the barbecue burners to the “high” position
and burn for 15 minutes. This procedure will burn off cooking residue, thus making cleaning easier.
Make sure the hood is open during this process.
Outside Surface:
Use a mild detergent or baking soda and hot water solution.
Non-abrasive scouring powder can be used on stubborn stains.
Rinse with water.
Clean thoroughly with strong hot soapy water solution.
Rinse with water and allow to completely dry.
NOTICE
If the inside surface of the barbecue
lid has the appearance of peeling
paint, baked on grease build up has
turned to carbon and is flaking off.
NOTICE
Never use oven cleaner.
Interior Of Barbecue Base:
Remove residue using a brush, scraper and/or cleaning pad then wash with a soapy water
solution.
Rinse with water and allow it to dry.
Plastic Surfaces:
Wash with a soft cloth and hot soapy water solution.
Rinse with water.
NOTICE
DO NOT use abrasive cleaners,
degreasers or a concentrated
barbecue cleaner on plastic parts.
background
23
Cooking Grid:
Use a mild soapy water solution. Non-abrasive scouring powder can be used on stubborn
stains, then rinse with water.
Grease Cup:
Regularly check the grease cup after use and remove the oil when ⁄ full.
When the grease cup is cold, move the grease cup holder and remove the grease cup. Empty
and clean the grease cup of any fat or food particles, using a plastic or wooden scraper if
necessary. If required, the cup can be washed in hot soapy water.
FOR YOUR SAFETY:
DO NOT remove the grease cup
during operation of the BBQ.
CAUTION
DANGER
FOR YOUR SAFETY:
Failure to keep it clean, excessive
build up can result in a fat fire.
Cleaning The Burner Assembly:
Turn the gas OFF at the control and disconnect the cylinder.
Remove side burner grid.
Clean the burner with a soft brush or blow clean with compressed air and wipe with a cloth.
Clean any clogged ports with a pipe cleaner or stiff wire (such as an opened paper clip).
Inspect the burner for any damage (cracks or holes). If damage is found, replace with a new
burner. Reinstall the burner, check to ensure that the gas valve orifices are correctly positioned
and secured inside the burner inlet (venture).
In some cases your barbecue will light back because of an insect crawling, or a spider spinning
its web, inside the burner. This can be rectified by using a bottle brush inserted through the
burner venturi and pushing it into the burner along the burner length. If the condition persists
consult your gas dealer.
Gas Cylinder and Hose:
Turn the appliance to the ‘OFF’ position before removing and replacing the cylinder.
Be careful with the gas supply hose. Always check for signs of damage, wear and kinks. If the
hose is worn or damaged hose replace it.
Servicing:
Turn the appliance to the ‘OFF’ position before removing and replacing the cylinder.
Be careful with t
Storage:
Ensure the appliance is cool and clean before storing.
In order to extend the life and maintain the condition of your barbecue, we strongly
recommend that the unit be covered when left outside for any length of time, especially
during the winter months.
Even when your barbecue is covered for its protection, it must be inspected on a regular basis
as damp or condensation can form which may result in damage to the barbecue. It may be
necessary to dry the barbecue and the inside of the cover.
It is possible for mould to grow on any fat remaining on parts of the barbecue. This should be
cleaned off smooth surfaces with hot soapy water.
Any rust that is found that does not come into contact with the food should be treated with a
rust inhibitor and painted with barbecue paint or a heat resistant paint.
Cover the burners with aluminium foil in order to prevent insects or other debris from
obstructing the burner holes.
Storage of the appliance indoors is only permissible if the cylinder is disconnected and
removed from the appliance. When the appliance is not to be used for a period of time it
should be stored in its original packaging in a dry dust free environment.

Operating Instructions for A100is Snap On Compact Low Pressure Regulator – 2531CS-0140:
Please read thoroughly before use and retain for future reference.
Connecting and operating conditions:
1. The “Snap On Compact” is a domestic regulator designed to supply gas to consuming
appliances at a pressure and capacity as indicated on the identification label (1).
2. The “Snap On Compact” can be fitted to any cylinders equipped with automatic valves, having
a diameter as indicated on the regulator (2).
3. The gas cylinder must always be used in the upright position.
4. Whenever used outdoors the “Snap On Compact” should be suitably protected against rain.
5. Never use a flame to look for leaks. Use a soap solution.
6. In case of any difficulties or problems, close the gas supply immediately and contact the
dealer.
7. Never move or displace the gas cylinder when it is on.
Fitting the hose:
1. Before connecting the “Snap On Compact” to cylinder valve, take care to fit a regulation
rubber hose (3) to the barbed stem (lubricate the latter with water to facilitate the insertion).
To guarantee a sound connection use a hose clamp (4), which is usually sold together with the
hose and matches the hose dimensions.
Connecting to the Gas Cylinder:
1. Ensure that all taps on the consuming appliance are closed.
2. Ensure that the connecting pipe to the consuming appliance is correctly fitted.
3. Ensure that the “Snap On Compact” regulator handle is in the ‘OFF’ position.
4. With no flame on, remove the seal cap from the automatic valve.
5. Place the “Snap On Compact” onto the valve and push down vertically and firmly. There will be
an audible click, confirming that the regulator is securely latched.
6. The “Snap On Compact” is designed to prevent it from being fitted to the valve, unless the
regulator handle is in the ‘OFF’ position. Therefore never attempt to mount or to dismount it
when the handle is not in position.
background
26
Operation:
1. Once the “Snap On Compact” is correctly mounted on the valve, gas supply is possible by
turning the regulator handle (5) upwards (anti-clockwise).
2. To shut “OFF” the gas supply, reverse the above procedure. An arrow on the handle indicates
the closing direction.
FOR YOUR SAFETY:
If you are unable to turn the
regulator handle to the “ON”
position, this means that the “Snap
On Compact” is not correctly
connected to the valve. DO NOT
force the handle to open it. Restart
the process as described in the
Connecting to the Gas Cylinder
section.
CAUTION
Exchange of Cylinder:
Ensure that:
All taps on the gas consuming appliance are in the “OFF” position.
The “Snap On Compact” regulator handle (5) is in the “OFF” position.
1. Dismount the “Snap On Compact” by pressing horizontally on the handle (6) and pulling
upwards at the same time.
2. Replace the protective cap on the cylinder after disconnecting the cylinder from the appliance.
Operation of Excess Flow Check Device:
The “Snap On Compact” regulator can be fitted with a safety device designed to automatically limit
the gas export in case of disconnection or rupture of the pipe that supplies gas to the consuming
appliance. The marking “excess flow” on the identification label (1) means that the “Snap On
Compact” is provided with this option.
The excess flow device is likely to activate under the following condition:
The consumption of the gas fired appliance is higher than the regulator flow capacity. Should
this occur contact your installer.
The gas pipe becomes detached. Should this occur, turn the “Snap On Compact” regulator
handle to the “OFF position. Re-fit the hose correctly. Turn the “Snap On Compact” regulator
handle to he “ON” position. Wait approximately 20 seconds before restarting the system.

NOTICE
To guarantee a proper operation
of the excess flow device, the pipe
that supplies gas to the consuming
appliance should be no more than 2
metres long.
WARNING
FOR YOUR SAFETY:
The “Snap On Compact” regulator
must never be left on the cylinder
without it being connected to the
consuming appliance, as the detach
-proof safety is not designed to
ensure the operation of the cylinder
valve.
NOTE:
In normal conditions of use, in order to ensure correct operation of the installation it is
recommended that this device is changed within 10 years of the date of manufacture.
When the regulator is installed downstream of another regulator, the supply pressure range shall be
correct for the regulated pressure range of the upstream regulator, plus any pressure losses in the
interconnecting pipe work.
The downstream installation pressure loss must not exceed the P value marked on the device.
This regulating device should not be positioned lower than the cylinder outlet valve, to avoid gas
vapour which may have re-liquified from draining into the regulator. Pipes and hoses used to
connect to the inlet of the regulating device should slope continuously back to the cylinder.
FOR YOUR SAFETY:
The gas cylinder must always be
used in the upright position
