4. Wash pre-cleaner in liquid detergent and water. Then
allow it to thoroughly air dry. Do not oil pre-cleaner.
5. Assemble dry pre-cleaner to lter.
6. Install seal washer, lter, and pre-cleaner, if equipped,
into base and onto stud. Make sure lter is properly
assembled into base and secure with fastener.
7. Install cover and secure with fastener. Make sure
fastener is tight.
Service Spark Plug
Changing the spark plug will help your engine to start
easier and run better.
1. Clean area around spark plug.
2. Remove and inspect spark plug.
3. Replace spark plug if electrodes are pitted, burned
or porcelain is cracked. Use the recommended
replacement plug. See Specications.
4. Check electrode gap with wire feeler gauge and reset
spark plug gap to recommended gap if necessary
(see Specications).
5. Install spark plug and tighten rmly.
Inspect Muer and Spark Arrester
Inspect the muer for cracks, corrosion, or other damage.
Remove the spark arrester, if equipped, and inspect for
damage or carbon blockage. Clean if carbon blockage is
found using brush and commercial solvent or replace if
damaged.
WARNING! Contact with muer area could
cause burns resulting in serious injury. Do not
touch hot parts.
