Note: Test to make sure the entire installation works properly before pulling
cables through ceilings/walls.
1
Connect the B165-101 local unit to the source using a user-supplied
serial cable.
2
Connect the included external power supply to the local unit and plug it
into a Tripp Lite Surge Suppressor, Power Distribution Unit (PDU) or
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). The green RJ45 LED on the local
unit will illuminate to indicate it is receiving power from the external
power supply.
3
Using user-supplied Cat5e/6 cable, connect the RJ45 port on the local
unit to the RJ45 port on the remote unit. The orange RJ45 LED on the
local unit will illuminate to indicate it is powered ON and connected to
the remote unit.
4
Connect the included external power supply to the remote unit and plug
it into a Tripp Lite Surge Suppressor, Power Distribution Unit (PDU) or
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). The green and orange RJ45 LEDs
on the remote unit will illuminate. The green LED indicates the unit is
receiving power from the external power supply, and the orange LED
indicates that it is both powered on and connected to the local unit.
