PARTS
HOW LONG WILL YOUR BATTERIES LAST?
Three “AA” Alkaline Batteries should last up to 6 months. Replace as needed, or when the red
LED Power Indicator light is no longer glowing.
TWO WAYS TO MAKE SURE YOUR NEW PRODUCT IS WORKING
1. Push the ON/OFF slide switch on the side of the unit to the ON position.
2. The RED LED light above the switch should glow red, indicating power is activated.
NOTE: The LED will blink rapidly for 5 seconds when first started, then blink every
2 seconds thereafter.
3. TEST the Ultrasonic sirens by pushing the TEST button on the top of the unit down
for 3 seconds; you will hear a siren-like noise emitting from the front speakers.
Depressing the TEST Button brings the Ultrasonic Sirens down to a human-audible
level so we can confirm the product is working.
WARNING: Do not press down the TEST Button for an extended period.
HOW TO USE YOUR NEW PRODUCT
• Once powered on, two one-second Ultrasonic Siren bursts are emitted from the front speakers
every three minutes. One burst is at 25 kHZ, and the second at 32 kHZ, frequency ranges that are
audible to rodents (rats, mice, squirrels) and other pests, but inaudible to humans, cats, dogs and
birds. The burst frequencies alternate so rodents cannot acclimate themselves to a single ultrasonic
frequency.
• These Ultrasonic bursts are emitted at a powerful 88 dB level, loud enough to be a discomfort
to unwanted rodent visitors, and discourage them from staying within earshot of your new
Ultrasonic Rodent Repeller.
• Because this product is Battery Operated and does not require a plug, you can place it where
you need it, aiming the Ultrasonic Sirens specifically at problem areas. You can move the unit
from place to place as often as you like, and as needed.
• Your PestContro® Ultrasonic Device should be used in rooms where signs of mouse or rat activity
is observed. Placement of the device is important. Ultrasonic waves travel in a straight line and
bounce off non-absorbing materials to fill a room. Hard surfaces such as walls, doors, appliances,
etc. will reflect the ultrasonic waves.
The area covered by the ultrasonic waves may be better when there are more reflective surfaces
where the ultrasonic device is placed. Ultrasound cannot penetrate through hard or solid objects.
Rodents behind these types of objects will not be repelled. The portability of your new PestContro®
product allows you to freely and frequently move the unit so the ultrasound waves have access
to those areas. Note that sound absorbing materials such as carpets, drapes and soft furniture
will also reduce the ultrasonic range of the device. Ultrasound will be stronger near the device
and in the room where the device is placed.
CAUTION! This product is intended for indoors use only. To avoid risk of fire or
electric shock, do not use where it may be exposed to water or direct sunlight.
PRECAUTIONS
* Children should not play for extended periods in close proximity of the device.
* Limit extended exposure to a distance of 2m (6.6 ft.) from the device.
* While the ultrasonic frequencies are above the hearing range of dogs, cats and birds,
you should still not permit pets continuous exposure to the device.
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Remove Battery Cover on the back of the unit by pushing down on the tab and lifting
out the cover.
2. Install three (3) “AA” Batteries (Alkaline recommended) making sure the positive and
negative pole markings on the inside of the unit match up with the battery markings.
3. Replace Battery Cover by sliding the bottom into place first and then push down into
its original sealed position.
