This product is intended for installation by professional installers only! This document is
intended to provide professional installers with basic installation and safety guidelines for this
product in typical fixed-installation systems. Please read this document and all safety warnings
before attempting installation.

• It is the responsibility of the installer to use a support system which has sucient wind
load strength to comply with the applicable codes and standards.
• All Bose products must be installed in accordance with local, state, federal and industry
regulations. It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure installation of the loudspeakers
and mounting system is performed in accordance with all applicable codes, including
local building codes and regulations. Consult the local authority having jurisdiction
before installing this product.
• This product is not intended for installation or use in indoor water facility areas
(including, without limitation, indoor pools, indoor water parks, hot tub rooms, saunas,
steam rooms and indoor skating rinks).
• Unsafe mounting or overhead suspension of any heavy load can result in serious
injury or death, and property damage. It is the installer’s responsibility to evaluate the
reliability of any mounting method used for their application. Only professional installers
with the knowledge of proper hardware and safe mounting techniques should attempt
to install any loudspeaker overhead.
• Do not mount on surfaces that are not sturdy, or that have hazards concealed behind
them, such as electrical wiring or plumbing. If you are not sure about installing the
bracket, contact a qualified professional installer. Ensure the bracket is installed
according to local building codes.
• Use only the hardware and accessories included or specified by Bose for use with
DesignMax DM5SE loudspeakers. Hardware for securing the loudspeaker to the
mounting surface is not supplied. For information on compatible accessories, see the
product’s technical data sheet at PRO.BOSE.COM.
• Keep the product away from fire and heat sources. Do not place naked flame sources,
such as lighted candles, on or near the product.
• Do not make unauthorized alterations to this product.
• The DesignMax DM5SE wall-mounting bracket is only for use with model DM5SE.
• Do not expose loudspeaker or mounting components to any chemical substances
that are not specified by Bose, including but not limited to lubricants, cleaning agents,
contact sprays, or other hydrocarbon-based solvents. Exposure to such substances can
lead to degradation of the plastic material, resulting in cracking and creating a falling
hazard.
• Clean speakers using only a dry cloth. Do not expose loudspeaker to soap, detergent,
mineral oil, alcohol or other cleaning agents or chemicals.

Preparing the Weather-resistant Input Cover
The weather-resistant input cover is designed for three dierent wiring scenarios (see above). To change the configuration of the input
cover to support your wiring scenario, cut along the perforation on the rubber conduit.
Note: Indoor-only applications do not require use of the input cover.

Wiring the Loudspeaker

The DesignMax DM5SE loudspeaker is designed to work with 18 AWG (0.8 mm

Connection Diagrams
Expose six millimeters (¼ inch) of bare wire to attach to the terminals.
Using a Safety Cable
Some regional construction codes require the use of a secondary
method of securing loudspeakers to support structures
to provide additional safety. Choose a mounting position,
method, and hardware consistent with local building codes and
regulations.
A safety cable can be attached to the loudspeaker using the
threaded insert on the back of the enclosure.
The insert is sized for an M6 screw (not included) with a depth of
15 millimeters (0.59 inches).

Installing the Bracket
Note: When choosing an installation location, at least one of the mounting bracket's attachment points must be secured to a support
structure. Attachment points not secured to a support structure must be secured using appropriate hardware for the installation. Choose
fasteners that are consistent with all local building codes and requirements.
Note: Choose appropriate fasteners to support the weight of the loudspeaker (4.75 kg [10.5 lb]).
1. Mark the drill holes.
2. Drill four holes (sized for appropriate fasteners) into the wall.
3. Secure the bracket to the wall with four screws (not included). Note: Use M5 or #10 sized screws.

Wiring the Connector
1. Feed the wires through the center hole of the bracket.
2. Remove the connector from the loudspeaker.
3. For outdoor installations, insert the wires through the
bottom of the input cover. See Preparing the Weather-
resistant Input Cover on page 4.
4. Wire the connector. For wiring information, see Wiring
the Loudspeaker on page 5.

Note: Installation in close proximity to cooking surfaces where the loudspeaker may be directly exposed to cooking oils, such as in
commercial cooking environments, may decrease the performance or functionality of the loudspeaker.

Installing the Loudspeaker
WARNING: Failure to follow the steps below
could lead to an unsafe mounting condition,
which could create a falling hazard.
1. Remove the lock forks from the lock tabs. Make
sure not to pull the lock fork tethers out of the
loudspeaker.
2. Attach the loudspeaker to the bracket, adjust the
loudspeaker to 45°, and lock the tabs into place.
3. Attach the wired connector to the loudspeaker.
4. For outdoor installations, place the weather-
resistant input cover over the connector and
press it firmly against the loudspeaker to create
a tight seal. See Preparing the Weather-resistant
Input Cover on page 4.
5. Unlock the tabs and adjust the loudspeaker to
your desired angle. Make sure to support the
weight of the loudspeaker while you adjust the
loudspeaker angle.
Note: The angle of the loudspeaker can be
adjusted to 0°, 15°, 30°, or 45°.
6. Lock the tabs into place.
7. Press the lock forks onto the lock tabs until the
forks sit securely around the tabs.

Installation
Removing the Grille
There are two small openings on either side of the grille (1). Along the side
of the loudspeaker with the bracket slots, insert a small, flat tool into the
grille openings to disengage the release tabs. Pull the grille away from the
loudspeaker.

Adjusting the Logo
You can rotate the Bose logo to align with your loudspeaker
orientation. With one hand, press the button on the back of
the grille. Rotate the logo with the other hand. The logo can be
rotated clockwise or counterclockwise.
Note: Do not pinch the button inward unless you intend to
remove the logo.
Attaching the Grille
Place the grille over the front of the loudspeaker and push it
firmly until it snaps into place.

ADVERTENCIA: Si no realiza los siguientes
pasos, puede tener como resultado una

1. Retire las horquillas de bloqueo de las lengüetas de
bloqueo. Asegúrese de no sacar los fijadores de las

2. Conecte el altavoz al soporte, ajuste el altavoz a 45°
y bloquee las lengüetas en el lugar que corresponde.
3. Fije el conector con cables al altavoz.
4. Para instalaciones en áreas exteriores, coloque la
cubierta de entrada resistente a la intemperie sobre
el conector y presiónela firmemente contra el altavoz
para crear un sello hermético. Consulte Preparación

5. Libere las lengüetas y ajuste el altavoz al ángulo de
su preferencia. Asegúrese de sostener el peso del
altavoz mientras ajusta su ángulo.
Nota: El ángulo del altavoz se puede ajustar a 0°, 15°,
30° o 45°.
6. Bloquee las lengüetas en el lugar que corresponde.
7. Presione las horquillas de bloqueo en las lengüetas

Le capot de protection des entrées résistant aux intempéries est conçu pour trois scénarios de câblage diérents (voir ci-dessus). Pour modifier
la configuration du capot de protection des entrées en fonction de votre scénario de câblage, découpez le long de la perforation du conduit en
caoutchouc.
Remarque: l’usage en intérieur uniquement ne nécessite pas l’utilisation du capot de protection des entrées.

1. Retirez les fourches de verrouillage des languettes
de blocage. Veillez à ne pas retirer les attaches
delafourche de verrouillage de l’enceinte.
2. Fixez l’enceinte au support, inclinez l’enceinte à45°,
puis verrouillez les languettes.
3. Branchez le connecteur câblé à l’enceinte.
4. Pour les installations en extérieur, placez le capot
de protection des entrées résistant auxintempéries
sur le connecteur et pressez-le fermement contre
l’enceinte pour assurer une étanchéité parfaite.

5. Déverrouillez les languettes puis inclinez l’enceinte
selon l’angle désiré. Veillez à supporter le poids de
l’enceinte pendant que vous l’inclinez.
Remarque: l’angle de l’enceinte peut être réglé sur
0°, 15°, 30°, ou 45°.
6. Verrouillez les languettes.
7. Enfoncez les fourches de verrouillage sur les
languettes de blocage jusqu’à ce qu’elles soient bien
en place autour des languettes.

Réglage du logo
Vous pouvez faire pivoter le logo Bose pour l’aligner sur l’orientation
de l’enceinte. D’une main, appuyez sur le bouton situé au dos de la
grille. Faites pivoter le logo avec l’autre main. Il est possible de faire
pivoter le logo dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre ou dans le
sens inverse.

Vorbereitung der wetterbeständigen Abdeckung der Anschlüsse
Die wetterbeständige Abdeckung der Anschlüsse ist für drei verschiedene Anschlussarten geeignet (siehe oben). Um die Abdeckung
andie gewünschte Anschlussart anzupassen, schneiden Sie die Gummiummantelung entlang der entsprechenden Perforation ab.
Hinweis: Bei Verwendung ausschließlich im Innenbereich ist eine Abdeckung der Anschlüsse nicht notwendig.

Verwendung eines Sicherungsseils
Einige Bauvorschriften schreiben als Sicherheitsvorkehrung vor,
den Lautsprecher an einer tragenden Konstruktion zusätzlich
abzusichern. Wählen Sie eine Montageposition und -methode
sowieWerkzeuge, die den örtlichen Bauvorschriften entsprechen.
Ein Sicherungsseil kann mithilfe des Einsatzes auf der
Gehäuserückseite am Lautsprecher angebracht werden.
Die Gewindehülse ist für eine M6-Schraube mit 15mm Länge
vorgesehen (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten).

Montage der Halterung
Hinweis: Beachten Sie bei der Auswahl eines Montageorts, dass mindestens einer der Befestigungspunkte der Montagehalterungen an einer
tragenden Konstruktion angebracht sein muss. Befestigungspunkte, die nicht an einer tragenden Konstruktion angebracht sind, müssen mit fürdie
Montage geeigneten Befestigungselementen angebracht werden. Verwenden Sie Sicherungselemente, die den örtlichen Bauvorschriften und
Anforderungen entsprechen.
Hinweis: Achten Sie darauf, dass die Sicherungselemente für das Gewicht des Lautsprechers (4,75kg) geeignet sind.
1. Markieren Sie die Position der Bohrlöcher.
2. Bohren Sie vier Löcher (in der Größe passender Sicherungselemente) in die Wand.
3. Befestigen Sie die Halterung mit vier Schrauben (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) an der Wand. Hinweis: Verwenden Sie M5-Schrauben oder
Schrauben der Größe 10.

Verkabeln des Anschlusses
1. Führen Sie die Kabel durch das mittige Loch in der
Halterung.
2. Entfernen Sie den Anschluss vom Lautsprecher.
3. Führen Sie bei Installationen im Freien die Kabel durch
die Unterseite der Abdeckung der Anschlüsse. Siehe
Vorbereitung der wetterbeständigen Abdeckung der
Anschlüsse auf Seite 25.
4. Verkabeln Sie den Anschluss. Weitere Informationen zur

Installieren des Lautsprechers
WICHTIGER HINWEIS: Die Nichtbeachtung
derunten aufgeführten Schritte kann zu
einerunsicheren Befestigung sowie zum
Herunterfallen des Lautsprechers führen.
1. Entfernen Sie die Feststellgabeln von den
Sperrhaken. Achten Sie darauf, nicht die Befestigung
der Feststellgabel aus dem Lautsprecher zu ziehen.
2. Setzen Sie den Lautsprecher in die Halterung ein,
neigen Sie ihn in einem Winkel von 45° und stellen
Sie die Sperrhaken fest.
3. Befestigen Sie den verkabelten Anschlussstecker am
Lautsprecher.
4. Wenn Sie den Lautsprecher im Außenbereich
anbringen, positionieren Sie die wetterbeständige
Abdeckung der Anschlüsse über den Anschlüssen
und drücken Sie sie fest auf den Lautsprecher, um
die Abdeckung abzudichten. Siehe Vorbereitung der
wetterbeständigen Abdeckung der Anschlüsseauf
Seite 25.
5. Entsperren Sie die Haken und passen Sie den
Neigungswinkel des Lautsprechers wie gewünscht
an. Sichern Sie das Gewicht des Lautsprechers,
während Sie den Winkel des Lautsprechers
anpassen.
Hinweis: Der Neigungswinkel des Lautsprechers kann
0°, 15°, 30° oder 45° betragen.
6. Arretieren Sie die Haken.
7. Drücken Sie die Feststellgabeln auf die Sperrhaken,
bis die Gabeln die Haken fest umschließen.

Installation
Entfernen der Frontabdeckung
An den Seiten der Frontabdeckung befinden sich zwei kleine Önungen (1).
Führen Sie auf der Seite des Lautsprechers, auf der sich auch die Aussparungen
für die Streben befinden, ein kleines, flaches Werkzeug in die Önungen der
Frontabdeckung ein und entriegeln Sie so die Befestigungslaschen. Nun können
Sie die Frontabdeckung vom Lautsprecher entfernen.

Anpassen des Logos
Sie können das Bose Logo an die Ausrichtung des Lautsprechers
anpassen. Drücken Sie mit einer Hand die Vorrichtung an der
Rückseite der Frontabdeckung. Drehen Sie mit der anderen
Handdas Logo. Das Logo kann im und gegen den Uhrzeigersinn
gedreht werden.
Hinweis: Drücken Sie die Vorrichtung nur nach innen, wenn Sie
dasLogoentfernen wollen.
Anbringen der Frontabdeckung
Positionieren Sie die Frontabdeckung an der Vorderseite des
Lautsprechers und drücken Sie sie behutsam fest, bis sie einrastet.

I componenti per il fissaggio del diusore alla superficie di montaggio non sono in
dotazione. Rivolgersi a un muratore professionista per individuare i componenti di
fissaggio corretti prima di installare il diusore.
Non ostruire le aperture di ventilazione. Installare il prodotto in conformità con le
istruzioni fornite dal produttore.
Non installare in prossimità di fonti di calore, quali termosifoni, radiatori, stufe o altri
apparecchi (compresi gli amplificatori) che generino calore.

La cover di protezione degli ingressi resistente agli agenti atmosferici è progettata per tre diverse situazioni di cablaggio (vedere sopra).
Per adattare la configurazione della cover di protezione degli ingressi alla propria situazione di cablaggio, tagliare il tubo protettivo in
gomma lungo la perforazione.
Nota: le applicazioni solo per interni non richiedono l'uso della cover di protezione degli ingressi.

Nota: durante la scelta della posizione di installazione, almeno uno dei punti di aggancio della staa di montaggio deve essere fissato a
una struttura portante. I punti di aggancio non fissati a una struttura portante devono essere fissati utilizzando componenti appropriati
per l’installazione. Scegliere dispositivi di fissaggio conformi a tutti i requisiti e tutte le normative per l'edilizia in vigore a livello locale.
Nota: scegliere dispositivi di fissaggio appropriati per sostenere il peso del diusore (4,75 kg).
1. Contrassegnare la posizione dei fori.
2. Praticare quattro fori (dimensionati per i dispositivi di fissaggio appropriati) nella parete.
3. Fissare la staa alla parete con quattro viti (non in dotazione). Nota: utilizzare viti in formato M5 o 10.

Installazione del diusore
AVVERTENZA: la mancata osservanza delle
seguenti istruzioni può causare condizioni di
fissaggio non sicure, con conseguenti rischi di
caduta.
1. Rimuovere le forcelle di bloccaggio dalle relative
linguette. Non estrarre gli attacchi della forcella di
bloccaggio dal diusore.
2. Agganciare il diusore alla staa, regolarne
l’inclinazione a 45° e bloccare le linguette in
posizione.
3. Fissare il connettore cablato al diusore.
4. Per le installazioni in esterni, posizionare la
cover di protezione degli ingressi sul connettore
e premerla con forza contro il diusore per
assicurarne la tenuta. Vedere Preparazione della
cover di protezione degli ingressi resistente agli
agenti atmosferici a pagina 32.
5. Sbloccare le linguette e regolare l’inclinazione
del diusore all’angolo desiderato. Il peso del
diusore deve essere sostenuto mentre se ne
regola l’inclinazione.
Nota: l’inclinazione del diusore è regolabile a0°,
15°, 30° o 45°.
6. Bloccare le linguette in posizione.
7. Premere le forcelle di bloccaggio sulle relative
linguette fino ad inserire completamente le
linguette nelle forcelle.

Rimozione della griglia
Su entrambi i lati della griglia (1) sono presenti due piccole aperture. Lungo
il lato del diusore con le fessure per la staa, inserire un piccolo attrezzo
piatto nelle aperture della griglia per sganciare le linguette di rilascio.
Separare la griglia dal diusore.

De weerbestendige afdekking voorbereiden
De weerbestendige afdekking is geschikt voor drie verschillende bedradingsschema’s (zie boven). Om de configuratie van de afdekking aan
tepassen aan uw bedradingsschema, knipt u langs de perforatie op de rubberen geleiding.
Opmerking: Bij gebruik binnen hoeft de afdekking niet te worden gebruikt.

behulp van de schroefdraad op de achterkant van de behuizing.
De opening is geschikt voor een M6-schroef (niet meegeleverd) met

De luidspreker installeren
WAARSCHUWING: Het niet volgen van deze
stappen kan resulteren in een onveilige

1. Verwijder de vergrendelingsvorken van
de vergrendelingslipjes. Zorg dat u de
bevestigingspunten van de vorken niet
uitdeluidspreker trekt.
2. Bevestig de luidspreker aan de beugel, stel de
luidspreker in op een hoek van 45° en vergrendel de
lipjes.
3. Bevestig de bekabelde connector aan de luidspreker.
4. Plaats voor montage buiten de weerbestendige
afdekking over de connector en druk de afdekking
stevig tegen de luidspreker voor een goede
afdichting. Raadpleeg De weerbestendige afdekking
voorbereiden oppagina 39.
5. Ontgrendel de lipjes en stel de gewenste hoek van
de luidspreker in. Zorg dat de luidspreker wordt
ondersteund terwijl u de luidsprekerhoek instelt.
Opmerking: De hoek van de luidspreker kan worden
ingesteld op 0°, 15°, 30° of 45°.
6. Vergrendel de lipjes.
7. Druk de vergrendelingsvorken tegen de
vergrendelingslipjes totdat de vorken om
delipjesvastklikken.

Er zitten twee kleine openingen aan beide zijden van de grille (1). Duw aande
luidsprekerzijde met de gleuven een klein en plat stuk gereedschap in de grille-

Montering av høyttaleren
ADVARSEL: Hvis du ikke følger trinnene
nedenfor, kan du få en utrygg montering, som
kan føre til at høyttaleren faller ned.
1. Fjern låsegaflene fra låsetappene. Sørg for ikke
ådra låsegaeltrådene ut av høyttaleren.
2. Fest høyttaleren til braketten, juster høyttaleren
45°, og lås tappene på plass.
3. Fest den tilkoblede kontakten til høyttaleren.
4. For utendørsmontering plasserer du det
værbestandige trekket til inngangen over
kontakten og trykker det godt mot høyttaleren
for å skape en tett forsegling. Se Klargjøre det
værbestandige trekket til inngangen på side 46.
5. Lås opp tappene og juster høyttaleren i retningen
du foretrekker. Pass på at du støtterden tunge
høyttaleren mens du justererhøyttalerretningen.

6. Lås tappene på plass.
7. Trykk låsegaflene på låsetappene til gaflene sitter

请选择符合当地所有建筑法规和要求的紧固件。
注意：请选择合适的紧固件以支撑扬声器的重量（4.75千克 [10.5磅]）。
1. 做好钻孔记号。
2. 在墙壁上钻四个孔（大小适合相应的紧固件）。
3. 使用四颗螺丝（不随附）将支架固定到墙壁上。
注意：使用 M5 或 10 号尺寸的螺丝。

安装扬声器
警告：不遵循以下步骤可能会导致不安全的安装环

1. 从锁扣移除锁叉。确保不要将锁叉系绳拉出扬声器。
2. 将扬声器连接到支架，调整扬声器至 45°，
并将扣锁定到位。
3. 将已经接好线的接线端子连接到扬声器。
4. 对于室外安装，将防风雨输入防护罩放置于接口上，
并将其牢牢压在扬声器上，以形成紧密密封。

2. 將揚聲器安裝至支架，調整至 45°，並將鎖定片鎖至定

耐候入力カバーは、上記の3つの各配線パターンに対応するように設計されています。お使いの配線パターンに合わせて入力カバーの構成を変更するには、

注:
取り付け位置を決める際、取り付けブラケットの取り付けポイントの1箇所以上を、支持構造に固定する必要があります。取り付けポイントが支持構造にしっかり固定さ
れない場合、取り付ける際に適切な器具を使用して固定してください。各地域の建築基準と要件すべてに適合する留め具を選択してください。
注: スピーカーの重量（

）を支えるのに適した留め具を選択してください。
1. 穴を空ける位置に印を付けます。
2. 壁に穴を4つ（使用する留め具の大きさ）開けます。
3. ネジを4つ（付属していません）使い、ブラケットを壁に固定します。

コネクターを配線する
1. ケーブルは、ブラケットの中央の穴を通します。
2. スピーカーからコネクターを外します。
3. 屋外での設置には、入力カバーの下からケーブルを挿入してくださ

4. コネクターを配線します。配線について詳しくは、「スピーカーの配線」

スピーカーを取り付ける
警告: 下記の手順に従わない場合、設置が不安定に
なり、落下事故の原因となる可能性があります。
1. ロックフォークをロックタブから取り外します。ロックフォー
クの留め具をスピーカーから引き抜かないように注意し
てください。
2. ブラケットにスピーカーを取り付け、スピーカーの角度が
45°になるように調節し、タブをロック位置に固定します。
3. 配線済みのコネクターをスピーカーに取り付けます。
4. 屋外の設置では、耐候入力カバーをコネクターの上に取
り付け、スピーカーに強く押し付けてしっかりと密閉しま
す。「耐候入力カバーを準備する」（74ページ）を参照して
ください。
5. タブのロックを解除し、目的の角度になるようにスピー
カーを調節します。スピーカーの角度を調節する際、
スピーカーの重量が支えられていることを確認します。

グリルの両側に、2つの小さな開口部があります（1）。ブラケット用のスロットがあるスピーカーの
側面に沿って、グリルの開口部に小型の平らな工具を挿入し、リリースタブを外します。グリルを
スピーカーから取り外します。

ロゴの向きを調整する
Boseロゴは、回転させてスピーカーの向きに合わせることができます。
片方の手で、グリル背面にあるボタンを押します。もう一方の手で、ロゴを
回します。ロゴは時計回りと反時計回りの両方に回ります。
注: ロゴを外すとき以外は、ボタンを内側向きに押し込まないようにし
てください。
