SAFETY INFORMATION
Read this instruction manual carefully before using the appliance
and keep it for future reference.
1. Use the appliance only for its intended purpose. Improper use
may result in an electric shock, fire or serious injury.
2. This appliance is for household use only. It is not suitable for
commercial, industrial or outdoor use.
3. This appliance is intended to be used in households and similar
applications such as:
- Sta kitchen areas in shops, oces and other working
environments
- Farm houses
- Hotels, motels and other residential type environments
- Bed and breakfast type environments.
4. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged or malfunctions.
5. Do not immerse the appliance or its electrical parts in water or
any other liquids. Never place them under running water (see
‘CLEANING AND CARE’).
6. This appliance is not intended to be used by persons (including
children below 8 years old) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental abilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they are supervised or instructed on the use of the product by
a person who is responsible for their safety.
7. Keep the appliance and its power cord out of the reach of
children during use.
8. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
9. Never operate the appliance unattended.

10. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the
appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
11. A fire may occur if the toaster is covered or touching
flammable materials (e.g. curtains, draperies or walls) when in
operation.
12. CAUTION: Hot surfaces. Care must be taken. The surfaces
are liable to get hot during use.
13. WARNING: The temperature of accessible surfaces may be
high when the appliance is in use.
14. Position the appliance upright on a firm, level and heat-
resistant surface near a power socket and out of the reach of
children.
15. When using the appliance, allow adequate space above and on
all sides for air circulation.
16. Extra caution is required when placing the toaster on surfaces
such as laminated bench tops where heat damage may occur.
To avoid this, you are advised to use an insulated heat pad.
17. Do not touch the area around the toasting slot, as it will get hot
during use.
18. Do not cover the toasting slot or put anything on top of it
during use.
19. If the bread gets jammed, unplug the toaster and let it cool
down before carefully removing the bread. Do not use anything
sharp, as this will damage the appliance.
20. Do not toast buttered items or make toasted sandwiches in the
toaster.
21. Do not use torn, curled, oversized or misshapen slices of bread
or wrap them in aluminium foil, as these may jam the toaster.
22. Always remove the bread from the toaster carefully after
toasting to avoid injuries.
23. Unplug the appliance after use and let it cool down before
cleaning and storing.
24. Clean the crumbs out of your toaster frequently to avoid a
build-up of crumbs. This is unhygienic and could cause a fire
hazard.
25. To achieve the best browning result, you are advised to wait for
at least 30 seconds for the browning control to reset between
each toasting cycle.

26. Do not use the toaster unless the crumb trays are closed.
27. WARNING: Do not attempt to dislodge food when the
toaster is in operation, as this may cause an electric shock.
28. WARNING: To prevent damage to the toaster, do not toast
with runny ingredients such as butter, jam and other sugary
ingredients. Adding food substances to the bread, muns or
crumpets can cause an electric shock and/or fire. This toaster
should only be used for toasting bread, crumpets and muns.
POWER SUPPLY
1. Before first use, make sure the power voltage matches the
information on the appliance rating label.
2. Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
3. A short power cord (or detachable power cord) should be used
to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
4. Longer detachable power cords or extension cords are
available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
5. If a longer detachable power cord or extension cord is used :
- The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension
cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the
appliance; and
- The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the
countertop or tabletop where it may be pulled on by children
or tripped over unintentionally.
- If the appliance is grounded, the extension cord should be a
grounded 3-wire cord.
6. If the power cord is damaged, it must be returned or replaced
by the manufacturer, an authorized service agent or a similarly
qualified person.
7. Removing the power plug is the only way to separate the
appliance completely from the power supply. Make sure the
power plug is in an operable condition.
8. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of table counters
or allow it to touch hot surfaces.

9. Disconnect from the power supply by pulling the power plug.
Do not pull on the power cord.
10. Keep the power cord away from hot surfaces. Do not plug in
the power cord or operate the appliance with wet hands.
11. Route the power cord so that it does not hang over the work
surface and cannot be caught accidentally.
12. Keep the appliance and power cord away from hotplates, hobs
and burners.
13. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended
to fit into a polarized outlet in one orientation only. If the plug
does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to
modify the plug in any way.
14. For addition electrical safety, you are advised to use a residual
current device (RCD/ Safety Switch) with a tripping current not
exceeding 30mA in the household wall outlet supplying power
to your appliance. Consult a qualified electrician if you are not
sure how to proceed.

BEFORE FIRST USE
• Remove all packaging from the appliance.
• Unpack all parts and check for damage that may have occurred
during transport. If any parts are damaged or missing, do not
use the appliance and return it to your retail outlet immediately.
• Clean the appliance before first use (see ‘CLEANING AND
CARE’).

• Set the browning control knob (2) to the maximum level and
press the loading handles (8) down without bread to burn
o any dust which may have accumulated on the heating
elements. The appliance may omit an odour. This is normal.
Make sure the room is well ventilated.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
MAKING TOAST
1. Make sure the toaster is placed upright on a firm, level, heat-
resistant and non-combustible surface.
2. Connect the toaster to the power supply.
3. Turn the browning control knob (2) to adjust the browning
level (level 1 to level 6) of the toast. A higher browning level
produces darker toast.
Note:
• The toasting color for one slice tends to be darker than
double slices at the same browning level.
• The toasting color tends to be darker for bread toasted earlier
compared to bread toasted later.
4. Place the bread (maximum 4 slices) into the toasting slots (1).
For optimal browning result, the thickness of the bread should
be in 10 mm.
Note: The thickness of the bread should not exceed 20 mm.
5. Press the loading handles (8) down. The CANCEL button
indicator (3) under the browning control knob (2) will turn on.
The toaster will start heating up.
Note: The toaster must be connected to the power supply
before the loading handles can be pressed and locked down.
6. When toasting is complete, the toast will pop up and the
toaster will turn itself o.
Note: You can press the CANCEL button (3) to stop toasting at
any time. Do not lift the loading handles (8) to cancel toasting.

USING THE FUNCTION BUTTONS
CANCEL button (3): Press to stop heating. The toast will pop up.
The toaster will then turn itself o.
BAGEL button (4): Press the loading handles (8) down until they
latch in place; the CANCEL button indicator (3) will light up. Then,
press the BAGEL button (4) to toast bagels or thinner bread rolls.
Both CANCEL button indicator (3) and BAGEL button indicator (4)
will light up at the same time. The indicators will switch o when
CANCEL button (3) is pressed or when the loading handles (8) pop
up again.
REHEAT button (5): Press the loading handles (8) down until they
latch in place; the CANCEL button indicator (3) will light up. Then,
press the REHEAT button (5) to reheat plain or unbuttered toasts.
The lowest browning level will be used. Both CANCEL button
indicator (3) and REHEAT button indicator (5) will light up at the
same time. The indicators will switch o when CANCEL button (3)
is pressed or when the loading handles (8) pop up again.
DEFROST button (6): Press the loading handles (8) down until
they latch in place; the CANCEL button indicator (3) will light up.
Then, press the DEFROST button (6) to toast frozen bread. Both
CANCEL button indicator (3) and DEFROST button indicator (6)
will light up at the same time. Turn the browning level knob (2) to
set your preferred browning level. The indicators will switch o
when CANCEL button (3) is pressed or when the loading handles
(8) pop up again. The toasting time will be adjusted automatically
so that you will get the same browning level as you get with
unfrozen bread.
Tips
• The defrost process adds extra time to the normal toasting
process. It defrosts the bread first before toasting.
• When toasting more than 1 slice of bread, make sure the slices
are of a similar size, thickness and freshness.
• Old bread will be less moist than fresh bread, and may make
your toast crispier.
• Old, thin and sweet bread (e.g. tea cakes and fruit loaf) takes
less time to toast, so a lower browning level should be used.

CLEANING AND CARE
• CAUTION: Always unplug the appliance from the wall
socket and let it cool down before cleaning.
• Wipe the outside of the appliance with a soft damp cloth.
• Do not let anything enter the toasting slots (1), as this may
damage the appliance.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids or allow
moisture to come into contact with the parts.
• Never use solvents, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents, wire
brushes, sharp objects or scouring pads to clean the product.
• Remove bread crumbs from the crumb trays (7) after
use. Regular cleaning of the crumb trays (7) is required, as
accumulation of crumbs may pose a fire hazard. Unplug the
toaster and let the appliance cool down completely. There are
two crumb trays (7) for the left and right slots. Slide the trays
out and empty them. Wipe the trays with a damp cloth, let
them dry, and then slide them back into the toaster.

atascar la tostadora.
22. Siempre retire el pan de la tostadora con cuidado luego de
tostar para evitar lesiones.
23. Desconecte el artefacto inmediatamente después del uso y

24. Limpie las migajas de su tostadora con frecuencia para evitar
una acumulación de migajas. Esto no es higiénico y podría

25. Para lograr el mejor resultado de tostado, le aconsejamos
esperar al menos 30 segundos para que el control de tostado
se reinicie entre cada ciclo de tostado.
26. No use la tostadora a menos que las bandejas para migajas

27. ADVERTENCIA: No intente desalojar alimentos de la

SUMINISTRO DE ENERGÍA
1. Antes del primer uso, asegúrese que la tensión eléctrica coincida
con la información de la etiqueta de clasificación del artefacto.
2. Conecte el artefacto solo a un tomacorriente de pared
conectado a tierra.
3. Se debe usar un cable de alimentación corto (o cable de
alimentación desmontable) para reducir el riesgo que resulta
de enredarse o tropezarse con un cable más largo.
4. Hay cables de alimentación desmontables más largos o
extensiones que pueden usarse si se tiene cuidado.
5. Si se usa un cable de alimentación desmontable más largo o
una extensión:
- La capacidad eléctrica del cable o del cable de extensión
debe ser como mínimo igual que la capacidad eléctrica de
corriente del artefacto; y
- El cable debe acomodarse de tal forma que no cuelgue del
mostrador o de la mesa, de donde pueda ser jalado por los
niños o donde sea objeto de tropiezo accidental.
- Si el artefacto está conectado a tierra, la extensión debe ser
un cable de 3 hilos con conexión a tierra.

6. Si el cable de alimentación está dañado, debe reemplazarlo
el fabricante, el agente de servicios autorizado o una persona
similarmente calificada.
7. Retirar el enchufe es la única manera de separar el artefacto

13. Este artefacto tiene un enchufe polarizado (una espiga es
más ancha que la otra). Para reducir el riesgo de descarga
eléctrica, este enchufe está diseñado para entrar en un
tomacorriente polarizado de una sola manera. Si el enchufe no
cabe completamente en el tomacorriente, invierta el enchufe. Si
aún así no encaja, consulte con un electricista profesional. NO
intente modificar el enchufe de ninguna manera.
14. Para mayor seguridad eléctrica, le aconsejamos usar un
dispositivo de corriente residual (RCD/interruptor de seguridad)
con una corriente de activación que no exceda los 30 mA en el
tomacorriente de la pared que suministra energía a su artefacto.

ANTES DEL PRIMER USO
• Retire todo el embalaje del artefacto.
• Desempaque todos los componentes y verifique que no
haya ocurrido ningún daño durante el transporte. Si algún
componente está dañado o ausente, no use el artefacto y
llévelo de vuelta a su tienda minorista de inmediato.
• Limpie el artefacto antes del primer uso (consulte la sección
‘LIMPIEZA Y CUIDADO’).
• Ajuste la perilla de control del tostado (2) al nivel máximo y
presione las palancas de tostado (8) hacia abajo para quemar
cualquier residuo de polvo que pudiera haberse acumulado en
los elementos calefactores. El artefacto podría emitir un cierto
olor. Esto es normal. Asegúrese que la habitación esté bien
ventilada.
INSTRUCCIONES DE
FUNCIONAMIENTO
CÓMO HACER TOSTADAS
1. Asegúrese que la tostadora esté colocada recta sobre una
superficie firme, estable, resistente al calor y no combustible.
2. Conecte la tostadora al suministro de alimentación.
3. Gire la perilla de control de tostado (2) para ajustar el nivel de
tostado (nivel 1 a nivel 6) de la tostada. Un nivel de tostado más
alto produce tostadas más oscuras.
Nota:
• El color del tostado para una rebanada suele ser más oscuro
que cuando se tuestan dos rebanadas en el mismo nivel de
tostado.
• El color de tostado suele ser más oscuro para panes tostados
antes que para los tostados después.
4. Coloque el pan (máximo 4 rebanadas) en las ranuras de
tostado (1). Para un resultado de tostado óptimo, el grosor del
pan debe ser de 10 mm.
Nota: El grosor del pan no debe exceder los 20 mm.

5. Presione las palancas de tostado (8) hacia abajo. El botón
indicador de CANCELAR (3) bajo la perilla de control de
tostado se encenderá. La tostadora comenzará a calentarse.
Nota: La tostadora debe conectarse a un suministro de energía
antes que las palancas de tostado se bajen y enganchen.
6. Cuando el tostado esté listo, la tostada saltará y la tostadora se
apagará sola.
Nota: Puede presionar el botón CANCELAR (3) para dejar de
tostar en cualquier momento. No eleve las palancas de tostado
(8) para cancelar el tostado.
USO DE LOS BOTONES DE FUNCIÓN
Botón CANCELAR (3): Presione para dejar de calentar. La tostada
saltará. La tostadora se apagará sola.
Botón BAGEL (4): Baje las palancas de tostado (8) hasta que se

Botón DESCONGELAR (6): Baje las palancas de tostado (8) hasta
que se enganchen en su lugar; el indicador del botón CANCELAR
(3) se encenderá. Luego presione el botón DESCONGELAR
(6) para tostar pan congelado. Tanto el indicador del botón
CANCELAR (3) como el indicador del botón DESCONGELAR (6)
se encenderán al mismo tiempo. Gire la perilla del nivel de tostado
(2) a su nivel de tostado preferido. Los indicadores se apagarán
cuando se presione el botón CANCELAR (3) o cuando las palancas
de tostado (8) salten otra vez. El tiempo de tostado se ajustará
automáticamente para que pueda obtener el mismo nivel de
tostado como si el pan no estuviera congelado.
Consejos
• El proceso de descongelamiento añade tiempo extra al proceso
normal de tostado. Descongela el pan antes de tostarlo.
• Cuando se tuesten más de 1 rebanada de pan, asegúrese que
las rebanadas sean de similar tamaño, grosor y frescura.
• El pan antiguo estará menos húmedo que el pan fresco, y
podría hacer que su tostada sea más crujiente.
• El pan dulce antiguo y delgado (como tortas para el té y
bizcochos de fruta seca) toma menos tiempo en tostarse, así
que se debe usar un nivel de tostado más bajo.

• PRECAUCIÓN: Siempre desconecte el artefacto del
tomacorriente de la pared y deje que se enfríe completamente
antes de limpiarlo.
• Limpie la parte exterior del artefacto con un paño húmedo
suave.
• No deje que nada ingrese por las ranuras de tostado (1), ya que
esto podría dañar el artefacto.
• No sumerja el artefacto en agua u otros líquidos, ni permita que
la humedad entre en contacto con los componentes.
• Nunca use solventes, sustancias químicas o agentes de limpieza
abrasivos, cepillos de alambre, objetos afilados o estropajos
metálicos para limpiar el producto.
• Retire las migajas de pan de las bandejas para migajas (7)
después del uso. Se requiere limpiar con frecuencia las
bandejas para migajas (7), ya que la acumulación de migajas
puede representar un peligro de incendio. Desenchufe la
tostadora y deje que el artefacto se enfríe completamente.
Hay dos bandejas para migajas (7) para las ranuras izquierda y
derecha. Deslice las bandejas hacia afuera y vacíelas. Limpie las
bandejas con un paño húmedo, déjelas secar y luego deslícelas
de regreso a la tostadora.
