OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove kettle from the power base and lift lid
by pressing the quick release button located at
the top of the handle.
2. Add fresh, cold water, watching level in water
window. Always fill the kettle between the
minimum (0.5L) and maximum (1.7L) marks.
Overfilling could cause boil-over. Underfilling
may damage the heating element and reduce
the product life.
3. Close the lid by pressing down until it locks
shut.
4. Make sure the unit is plugged in, then place the
kettle on the power base.
5. Flip the switch downwards at the base of the
kettle. The ON/OFF switch will illuminate to
indicate the kettle is heating.
NOTE: Make sure the scale filter is in place before
heating.
6. The kettle will switch off automatically once the
water has boiled and the ON / OFF switch will
no longer be illuminated. Lift the kettle from the
power base and pour the water.
BOIL DRY PROTECTION
If the kettle is operated without water, it will
automatically cut-out, preventing any damage to
the element. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool
before filling with cold water and re-boiling.
AUTO SHUT-OFF
In the event of overheating, the kettle will
automatically shut down to prevent damage.
CLEANING &
MAINTENANCE
Unplug your kettle and allow it to cool before
cleaning.
Wipe the kettle and base of unit with a soft,
damp cloth.
Be sure that the electric kettle socket is kept dry.
• Dry all parts after every use.
• Never immerse kettle or power base in water.
Any other servicing should be performed by an
authorised service representative.
REMOVABLE SCALE FILTER
This kettle features a mesh filter to remove scale
deposits and clean water.
The filter can be removed by grasping it and
pulling upward. Run under hot water and rub
with a clean cloth or brush. Replace the filter; it
will snap back into place.
DECALCIFICATION
Decalcification refers to removing mineral
deposits, which may form in the interior and on
heating plate of the kettle over time. This can
result in discolouration that can look the colour
of rust. Please note this is NOT rust, the interior
of the kettle is stainless steel and will not rust.
To get the best performance from your Signature
Kettle, decalcify your unit from time to time.
Frequency will depend on the hardness of your
tap water and how often you use your kettle.
We suggest using a kettle descaler in order
to dissolve these deposits or scale. Follow the
directions on the descaler package.
If a commercial descaler is not available, fill
the kettle with enough white vinegar to cover
the bottom by about 1cm. Heat the vinegar
to a boil. Repeat this with cooled vinegar until
all deposits are removed. When the descaling
process is complete, empty the kettle and rinse
out several times with clean water.
