Some dust created by power
sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and other
construction activities contains chemicals
known to the state of California to cause
cancer, birth defects or other reproductive
harm. Some examples of these chemicals
are:
● Lead from lead-based paints;
● Crystalline silica from bricks and cement
and other masonry products;
● Arsenic and chromium from chemically-
treated lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies,
depending on how often you do this type
of work. To reduce your exposure to these

The term power tool in the warnings refers to
your electric (corded) power tool or battery-

• Keep work area clean and well lit.

PERSONAL SAFETY
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing
and use common sense when operating a

the switch is in the off-position before
connecting to power source and/or battery
pack, picking up or carrying the tool.
Carrying power tools with your nger on the
switch or energizing power tools that have the
switch on invites accidents.
• Remove any adjusting key or wrench

a key left attached to a rotating part of the power

• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing
and balance at all times.This enables better
control of the power tool in unexpected situations.

clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing
and gloves away from moving parts. Loose
clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in
moving parts.
• If devices are provided for the connection
of dust extraction and collection facilities,
ensure these are connected and properly
used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-
related hazards.
POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
• Do not force the power tool. Use the
correct power tool for your application. The
correct power tool will do the job better and safer
at the rate for which it was designed.
• Do not use the power tool if the switch
does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous
and must be repaired.
• Disconnect the plug from the power
source and/or the battery pack from the
power tool before making any adjustments,
changing accessories, or storing power
tools.Such preventive safety measures reduce
the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
• Store idle power tools out of the reach of
children and do not allow persons unfamiliar
with the power tool or these instructions
to operate the power tool.Power tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
• Maintain power tools. Check for
misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condition
that may affect the power tools operation.

cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier
to control.

The operation of any tool can result in foreign objects being thrown into your
eyes, which can result in severe eye damage. Before beginning any operation,
always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields and a full face
shield when needed. We recommend the Wide Vision Safety Mask for use over
your eyeglasses or standard safety glasses with side shields. Always wear eye
protection that complies with ANSI Z87.1.

DOUBLE INSULATION
Double insulation is a safety concept for electric power tools, which eliminates
the need for the usual three-wire grounded power cord. All exposed metal parts
are isolated from the internal metal motor components with protecting insulation.
Double insulated tools do not need to be grounded.
WARNING
The double insulated system is intended to protect the user from shock resulting from
a break in the tool’s internal wiring. Observe all normal safety precautions to avoid electrical shock.
IMPORTANT: Servicing a tool with double insulation requires extreme care and knowledge
of the system and should be performed only by a qualied service technician. Always use the
original factory replacement parts when servicing.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The Random Orbit Sander has a precision-built electric motor. It should be connected to a power sup-
ply that is 120V, 60Hz AC only (normal household current). Do not operate this tool on direct current
(DC). A substantial voltage drop will cause a loss of power and the motor to overheat. If your tool does
not operate when plugged into an outlet, double-check the power supply.
USE PROPER EXTENSION CORD. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition. When us-
ing an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw.
An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. Table
1 shows the correct size to use depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt,
use the next heavier gage. The smaller the gage number, the heavier the cord.

caught on lumber, tools or other obstructions while you are working with a power tool.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Before using the tool, read the
instruction book carefully.
Intended Use
The machine is intended for dry sanding of
wood, plastic, metal and ller material as well
as painted surfaces.
1. FITTING THE SAND PAPER (SEE FIG. A, B)
FIT THE SAND PAPER
This sander features an easy hook and loop
accessory fastening system for quick changing
without clamps.
The sand paper are placed directly onto the
base plate. The hole pattern in the base plate
and sand paper must match. Then press the
sand paper onto the base plate by hand. Firmly
press the power tool with the sand paper
against a at surface and briey switch the
power tool on. This provides for good adhesion
and prevents premature wear
Before placing on the sand paper, free
the base plate from dust/debris by lightly
tapping against it.
REMOVE THE SAND PAPER
Simply remove the sand paper directly.

CHANGING THE BASE
To charge the base, rstly remove the four
xing screws with a screwdriver.
Fit the base required for the sanding operation
and replace the four xing screws.

the auxiliary handle at all times.
To adjust the handle, release the Auxiliary
handle locking knob and rotate the handle to
the most comfortable and balanced position.

A) ATTACH THE CYCLONIC DUST BOX
Your sander is equipped with a cyclonic dust
box. To attach, slide the box onto the outlet piece
and take care that the latching lever engages.
CAUTION: To prevent the possibility of
sanding dust or foreign body being thrown into
your face or eyes, never attempt to use your
sander without the dust box properly installed.

B) EMPTY THE CYCLONIC DUST BOX (SEE
FIG. D1, D2)
For more efcient operation, empty the cyclonic
dust box every 5-10mins. This will permit the air
to ow through the box better.
To empty the box, press the latching lever in and
pull off the box. Then press the button at the
rear of the box to open it, and shake out dust.

With the variable speed control, the required
speed can be selected (also while running).
The required speed is dependent on the
material and is to be determined by a practical
trial.
After longer periods of working at low speed,
allow the machine to cool down by running it for
approx. 3 minutes at maximum speed with no
load.

6. USING THE SANDER (SEE FIG. H)
Guide your sander parallel to the working
surface and move it in circles or in a cross
pattern. Do not tilt the tool in order to avoid
deep unwanted sanding marks. The amount of
material removed is determined by the speed
of the sanding disc and the grit size used. The
speed of the sanding disc diminishes relative
to the pressure applied to the tool. For faster
removal, do not increase pressure on the tool,
but use a coarser grit size.

7.SELECT THE RIGHT SAND PAPER
Selecting the correct grit of sandpaper is an
extremely important decision that will allow you
to achieve the best quality sanding nish.
Coarse grit will remove the most material
and ner grit will give you the best nish in all
sanding operations. The condition of the surface
to be sanded will determine which grit will do
the job.
If the surface is rough:
Start with coarse grit (sold separately) and sand
until the surface is uniform. Then use medium
to remove any scratches left by the coarse grit.
Then use ner grit (sold separately) for nishing
the surface.
NOTE: Always continue sanding with each grit
until the surface is uniform.

Remove the plug from the socket before carrying out any adjustment, servicing or
maintenance.
Your power tool requires no additional lubrication or maintenance. There are no user serviceable
parts in your power tool. Never use water or chemical cleaners to clean your power tool. Wipe
clean with a dry cloth. Always store your power tool in a dry place. Keep the motor ventilation
slots clean. Keep all working controls free of dust. Occasionally you may see sparks through the
ventilation slots. This is normal.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or
similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
1. If your sander will not operate, check the power at the mains plug.
2. If the sander does not abrade surface, checking the sand paper. If the sand paper has been
worn, replace the new paper and try again. The paper must be kept in a dry place, if it is allowed
to become damp, the abrasive particles will lose their adhesion to the backing paper and will
not abrade.
3. If the sander dose not move smoothly, The sand paper may be loose, damaged or wrinkled.
Replace and try again.
4. If a fault can not be rectied return the sander to an authorized dealer for repair.
If your power tool becomes too hot, especially when used at low speed, set the speed to maxi-
mum and run it with no load for 2-3 minutes to cool the motor. Avoid prolonged usage at very low
speeds. Always use sand paper that is suitable for the material you want to sand.
Always ensure the work-piece is rmly held or clamped to prevent movement.
Any movement of the material may affect the quality of the sanding nish.
Start your sander before sanding and turn it off only after you stop sanding. For the best results,
sanding wood in the direction of the grain.
Do not start sanding without having the sandpaper tted.
Do not allow the sandpaper to wear away it will damage the base-plate. The guarantee also cover
base-plate wear and tear.
Use coarse grit paper to sand rough surfaces, medium grit for smooth surfaces and ne grit for the
nal surfaces. If necessary, rst make a test run on scrap material.
Use only good quality sandpaper.
The sandpaper controls the sanding efciency, not the amount of force you apply to the tool.
Excessive force will reduce the sanding efciency and cause motor overload. Replacing the sand-
paper regularly will maintain optimum sanding efciency.

DOBLE AISLAMIENTO
El doble aislamiento es un concepto de seguridad para herramientas eléctricas,
que elimina la necesidad del cable eléctrico con tierra de tres alambres habitual.
Todas las partes de metal expuestas están aisladas de los componentes de metal
internos del motor con aislamiento de protección.
Las tierras con doble aislamiento no necesitan conectarse a tierra.
El sistema de doble aislamiento está diseñado para proteger al usuario contra
choque que resulte de una ruptura en el cableado interno de la herramienta. Observe todas las pre-
cauciones normales de seguridad para evitar el choque eléctrico.
IMPORTANTE: Dar servicio a una herramienta con doble aislamiento requiere cuidado
extremo y conocimiento del sistema y sólo debe ser realizado por un técnico de servicio
calicado. Siempre use las partes de reemplazo de fábrica originales cuando dé servicio.
CONEXIÓN ELÉCTRICA
La Lijadora Giratoria tiene un motor eléctrico integrado de precisión. Se debe conectar a un suminis-
tro de energía que tenga 120 voltios, 60 Hz, sólo CA (corriente doméstica normal). No opere esta her-
ramienta en corriente directa (CD). Una caída de voltaje substancial causará una pérdida de energía
y el motor se sobrecalentará. Si su herramienta no opera cuando esté conectada a un enchufe, revise
de nuevo el suministro de energía.
USE EL CABLE DE EXTENSIÓN ADECUADO. Asegúrese que su cable de extensión esté en
buenas condiciones. Cuando use un cable de extensión, asegúrese usar uno lo sucientemente
fuerte para manejar la corriente que requerirá su producto. Un cable de menor capacidad causará
una caída en el voltaje de línea que resulte en una pérdida de energía y sobrecalentamiento. La Tabla
1 muestra el tamaño correcto a usar dependiendo de la longitud del cable y la capacidad de amperes
de la placa de identicación. Si tiene dudas, use el siguiente calibre mayor. Mientras menor es el
número de calibre, el cable es más pesado.

Uso pretendido
La máquina está diseñada para lijado en seco
de madera, plástico, metal y material de relleno,
así como supercies pintadas.
1. COLOCACIÓN DE PAPEL DE LIJA (VER
FIG. A, B)
COLOCACIÓN DE PAPEL DE LIJA
Esta lijadora cuenta con un sistema de conex-
ión fácil de accesorios de gancho y lazo para
cambio rápido sin abrazaderas.
Los papeles de lijado se colocan directamente
sobre la placa base. El patrón de agujeros
en la placa base y en el papel de lija debe
coincidir. A continuación, presione el papel de
lija sobre la placa base con la mano. Presione
rmemente la herramienta eléctrica con el
papel de lija contra una supercie plana y
encienda brevemente la herramienta eléctrica.
Esto proporciona una buena adherencia y evita
el desgaste prematuro.
Antes de colocarlo en el papel de lijado,
limpie la placa de base de polvo/escombros
golpeándola ligeramente.
RETIRO DE PAPEL DE LIJA
Simplemente retire el papel de lija directamente.

CAMBIO DE LA BASE
Para cambiar la base, extraiga primero los cuatro
tornillos de jación utilizando un destornillador.
Coloque la base que se utilizará para el
proceso de lijado y vuelva a colocar los cuatro
tornillos de jación.

B) VACIAR LA CAJA CYCLONE (VER FIG.
D1, D2)
Para un uso más ecaz, vacíe la caja Cyclone
cada 5 - 10 minutos. Esto permitirá una mejor
circulación de aire dentro del recipiente.
Para vaciar la caja, presione la palanca de
aseguramiento y retire la caja. A continuación,
presione el botón en la parte posterior de la
caja para abrirla, y sacudir el polvo.

Con el control de velocidad variable, se puede
seleccionar la velocidad deseada (también
durante la operación).
La velocidad requerida depende del material y
se determinará mediante una prueba práctica.
Después de largos periodos de trabajo a baja
velocidad, permita que la máquina se enfríe
operándola durante aprox. 3 minutos a veloci-
dad máxima sin carga.

Guíe su lijadora paralela a la supercie de
trabajo y muévala en círculos o en un patrón
cruzado. No incline la herramienta para evitar
marcas de lijado profundas no deseadas. La
cantidad de material eliminado se determina por
la velocidad del disco de lijado y el tamaño de
grano usado. La velocidad del disco de lijado
disminuye en relación con la presión aplicada a
la herramienta. Para una eliminación más rápi-
da, no aumente la presión sobre la herramienta,
pero use un tamaño de grano más grueso.

Seleccionar el grano correcto de papel de lija es
una decisión extremadamente importante que
le permitirá lograr el mejor acabado de lijado de
calidad.
El grano grueso quitará la mayoría del material
y el grano más no le dará el mejor acabado en
todas las operaciones de lijado. La condición de
la supercie a lijar determinará qué grano hará
el trabajo.
Si la superficie es áspera:
Comience con grano grueso (se vende por
separado) y lije hasta que la supercie sea
uniforme. A continuación, utilice el grano medio
para eliminar cualquier rayón dejado por el
grano grueso. Después, utilice grano más
no (se vende por separado) para acabar la
supercie.
NOTA: Siempre continúe lijando con cada
grano hasta que la supercie sea uniforme.

Extraiga el enchufe de la toma eléctrica antes de llevar a cabo cualquier reparación o ajuste.
Su herramienta no requiere lubricación ni mantenimiento adicional. No posee piezas en su interior
que puedan ser reparadas por el usuario. Nunca emplee agua o productos químicos para limpiar
su herramienta. Use simplemente un paño seco. Guarde siempre su herramienta en un lugar seco.
Mantenga limpias las ranuras de ventilación del motor. La observación de chispas que destellan
bajo las ranuras de ventilación, indica operación normal que no dañará su herramienta.
Si el cable de alimentación se encuentra dañado deberá ser reemplazado por el fabricante,
su agente de servicio o algún otro profesional igualmente cualicado para llevar a cabo dichas
operaciones, con el n de evitar riesgos.
1. Si no funciona la lijadora, compruebe el suministro de energía del enchufe.
2. Si la lijadora no lija la supercie, compruebe la hoja de lija. Si la hoja de lija se encuentra
desgastada, reemplácela por una hoja nueva e intente nuevamente. Las hojas de lija deben
ser almacenadas en un lugar seco. Si las hojas de lija se humedecen, las partículas abrasivas
perderán su adherencia a la almohadilla y no se podrá realizar el lijado.
3. Si la lijadora no se mueve fácilmente, puede que la hoja de lija se encuentre suelta, dañada
o doblada. Reemplácela e intente nuevamente.
4. Si no se puede solucionar una falla, lleve la lijadora a un distribuidor autorizado para su reparación.
Si su herramienta eléctrica se recalienta demasiado, hágala funcionar sin carga durante 2-3
minutos para enfriar el motor. Evite el uso prolongado a velocidades muy bajas. Utilice siempre
un papel de lija adecuado para el material que desea lijar.
Asegúrese siempre de que la pieza de trabajo esté rmemente sujeta -con o sin abrazaderas-
para evitar el movimiento.
Cualquier movimiento del material puede afectar la calidad de acabado.
Encienda su lijadora antes de lijar y apáguela recién después de haber terminado. Para mejores
resultados, lije la madera en dirección del grano del papel.
No comience a lijar si no tiene instalado el papel.
No permita que el papel se desgaste, ya que dañará la placa base. La garantía también cubre el
desgaste y deterioro de la placa base.
Utilice papel de grano grueso para lijar supercies groseras, de grano medio para supercies lisas y
de grano no para acabados. De ser necesario, primero haga una prueba sobre material de desecho.
Utilice únicamente papel de lija de buena calidad.
La eciencia de lijado es controlada por el papel de lija, no por la fuerza que Ud. aplique a la
herramienta. La fuerza excesiva reducirá la eciencia de lijado y causará la sobrecarga del motor.
El reemplazo periódico del papel de lija mantendrá una óptima eciencia de lijado.
