TO REPLACE AUGER SHEAR BOLT
The augers are secured to the auger shaft
with special bolts (see figure below ) that
are designed to break (to protect the ma-
chine) if an object becomes lodged in the
auger housing. Use of a harder bolt will de-
stroy the protection provided by the shear
bolt.
IMPORTANT: To ensure safety and perlor-
mance levels, onlyoriginalequipment shear
belts should be used. When replacing shear
belts, be sure to replace shear belt spacers.

TO ADJUST CARBURETOR
If you think your carburetor needs adjusting,
see your nearest Authorized Craftsman Ser-
vice Center. Engine performance should
not be affected at altitudes up to 7,000 feet.
For operation at higher elevations, contact
your Authorized Craftsman Service Center.
IMPORTANT: Never tamper with the en-
gine govemor, which is factory set for
proper engine speed. Over speeding the
engine above the factory high speed set-
ting can be dangerous. If you think the en-
gine-governed high speed needs adjusting,
contact your nearest Craftsman Service
Center, which has the proper equipment
and experience to make any necessary ad-
justments.

gauge and reset the gap to .030 inch if
necessary.
To Replace:
If you need a new spark plug, use only
the proper replacement spark plug (see
page 13). "
Set the gap to .030 inch.
Before installing the spark plug, coat its
