LPgashaveanodorantaddedtoaidindetectingagasleak. Somepeoplemaynot
physicallybeabletosmellorrecognizethisodorant. Ifyouareunsureorunfamiliarwith
thesmellofLPgas, askthegassupplier. Otherconditions, suchas “odorantfade,” which
causestheodoranttodiminishinintensity, canalsohideorcamouflageagasleak.
Alwayscheckwithcommercialleakdetectororsoapywater.
GasdetectorsarerecommendedinLPgasapplicationsandtheinstallation
shouldbeinaccordancewiththedetectormanufacturer’srecommendationsand/or
locallaws, rules, regulationsorcustoms.
• WaterheatersutilizingLPgasaredifferentfromnaturalgasmodels. Anaturalgaswater
heaterwillnotfunctionsafelyonLPgasandviceversa.
• NoattemptshouldeverbemadetoconvertthewaterheaterfromLPgastonaturalgas.
Toavoidpossibleequipmentdamage, personalinjuryorfire, donotconnectthewater
heatertoafueltypenotinaccordancewiththeportabletanklesswaterheaterdataplate.
• LPappliancesshouldnotbeinstalledbelowgrade (forexample, inabasement) ifsuch
installationisprohibitedbyfederal, stateand/orlocallaws, rules, regulationsorcustoms.
• PropaneorLPgasmustbeusedwithgreatcaution. Itisheavierthanairandwillcollect
firstinlowerareasmakingithardtodetectatnoselevel.

• Beforeattemptingtolightthewaterheater, makesuretolookandsmellforgasleaks.
Useasoapysolutiontocheckallgasfittingsandconnections. Bubblingataconnection
indicatesaleakthatmustbecorrected. Whensmellingtodetectagasleak, besureto
sniffneartheflooralso.

2. Turnyourwateroutputdevicetoits “”offposition.
3. Turnthegasvalveonthecylinderallthewayopen.
4. IFTHESMELLOFGASISDETECTED, TURNOFFTHEGASVALVEIMMEDIATELY!!
5. Setthe
water
knobon
the
faceofthe
portable
tankless
water
heater
to
its
highest
setting.
6. Setthegas knobonthefaceoftheportabletanklesswaterheatertoits
minimum

setting.
7. Turnonyourwateroutputdevicetothe “”onpositionandadjusttothedesiredwater
flow.
8. Therewillbeaseriesofaudibleclicksandtheburnerwillignite. Shouldthe
burnernotigniteafter5seconds, shutoffandgotothe “Troubleshooting”section.
9. Uponcompletionofuseorstorage, openthedrainvalve (ribbedcylindrical
stemnexttothewaterinputvalve) toensuredrainingofwater.
10. Turnoffyourgassupply.
11. WARNING: Iftheoutsidetemperatureisaroundorbelowfreezing (32
0 ), ensurethatthedrainplugisopenedandwaterdrainedfromtheportable
tanklesswaterheateraftereachusetoavoidinternaldamagetotheheatexchanger.
Youwillalsoneedtounhooktheoutgoingwaterlinetoensurethatanywaterinthe
heatexchangerisdrained. Failuretoproperlydrainyourportabletanklesswater
heaterwillcausewaterdamagewhichmayormaynotbereparable.
Beforeoperatethedrainplug, mustbe
1. Ensurethatthewaterheaterisdisconnectedfromthegassupply.
2. Ensurethatthewaterheaterisdisconnectedfromthewatersupply.
3. Ensurethattheshowerhoseisdisconnectedfromthewaterheater.
Adjustment
Thetemperatureoftheoutgoingwaterisdependentonthetemperatureoftheincoming
waterbalancedwiththeamountofheatapplied. Useextremecautioninsettingtheoutlet
watertemperature.
1. Withthewaterknobsettohigh, andthegasknobsettolow, feeltheoutgoingwater.
Thisisthelowestsettingavailable.
2. Toinitiallyraisetheoutgoingtemperature, slowlyturnthegasvalvetowardsmaximum.
Adjustslowlyandcheckthetemperatureoften. Therewillbeaslightdelaybetween
increasingthegassupplyandtheincreaseinwatertemperature.
3. Shouldtheoutletwatertemperatureneedtobehigher, slowlyreducethewaterflow

knobuntildesiredtemperatureisreached.

FollowingPhenomenaAreNotRealTroubles
Avoidfrozenbroken
Duringthestageofnousing, thetemperatureissamebetweentheinsideandoutsideof
water, thewaterwillexpandwhentemperaturereach32℉ (0℃) evenbrokenthewater
pipe. Thisisnormalphenomenonandnotisthequalityproblem.
Openthedrainplugtodrainofftheresidualwaterinthewaterheaterandthenscrewit
tightlyiftheenvironmentwherethewaterheaterisinstalleddropsbelow32℉(0℃). This
canpreventthecoldfromdamagingthewaterheater.
Troubleshooting
Portabletanklesswaterheaterwillnotstart –th

arenoaudibleclicksatstartup:
a. Thefirstthingtocheckistoensurethattheincomingwateronthe “right” side
oftheportabletanklesswaterheater. Iftheincomingandoutgoingarereversed,
theportabletanklesswaterheaterwillnotwork. Theincomingisonthefarright
andtheoutgoingisinthemiddle.
b. Checktomakesureyouhavefreshbatteriesandtheyareinstalledinthe
correctposition.
c. Numberonereasonthattheportabletanklesswaterheaterdoesnotigniteisthat

cylindersupontheirfirstfilling. Cycletheportabletanklesswaterheaterturning
offandonyouroutputfloworsimilar.
Shouldaportabletanklesswaterheaterfailtolightorstaylitafter10cycles,

Portabletanklesswaterheatersstarts, thenshutsoff:
a. Theportabletanklesswaterheaterrequiresaminimumofabout0.44gallons
perminute (1.5liters) andaminimumofabout2.5PSI / 0.17bar. Note: water
pressureisatthelowerendofoperatingparameters. Youwillneedasustained
waterpressureofapproximately35-65PSI / 2.4-4.5barforadequateuseifyouare
usinga12/18/120voltpump.
b. Outof, orlowongas. Propanegascylinderssometimesarecontaminatedwith
air, especiallynewtanksupontheirfirstfilling. Cycletheportabletanklesswater
heateronandoffbyusingtheshowerheadswitchseveraltimestopurgetheair
fromthegas. Ifthisdoesn’tcleartheairthenthetankmustbepurged.
c. Oneoftheignitionsensorsisbentand/ortooclosetotheburner. Looktoensure
thattheignitionpinsandtheheatsensorarecompletelyverticalandtheydoa90
degreetothebackofthebox. Iftheyarenotstraight (i.e. a45degreeangle) then
youcanstraightenthemwithpliers.
d. Thethermocoupleiseithertoohighortoolowtocompletethecircuit. Checkto
ensurethatthethermocoupleisflushwiththeholeintheheatexchanger.
e. Thegassensorwire (lookslikeablackgroundwireonthegasregulator) flange
mighthavecomelooseorisnolongerconnected.
f. Thereisafaultyheatsensor. Thisisusuallydiagnosedbytakingthefrontcase
offoftheportabletanklesswaterheaterandletitrun. Ifitcontinuestooperate,

Waterisflowing, butthereisnohotwatercomingout:
a. Ensurethatyouhavetheincomingwatersupplyandtheoutgoingwatersupply
hookedupproperly. Yourwatersupplyshouldbeattachedtoyourincoming
connection (locatedonthefarright) andtheshowerheadshouldbeattachedto
theoutgoingwater (locatedasthemiddleconnection).
b. Ensurethatyouhaveadequatewaterpressureofatleast2.5PSI / 0.17bar,
sustained.
c. EnsurethatyouhaveadequategasinyourpropanebottleandthattheLP

Theportabletanklesswaterheaterdoesnothing:
a. Ensurethatyouhaveyourwatersourcehookeduptothewaterinletside (far
rightconnection) andtheshowerhandleishookeduponthewateroutletside
(middleconnection).
b. Ensurethatyouhaveanadequatesupplyofpropane.
c. Ensurethatyouhavefreshbatteries.
LIMITEDWARRANTY
Themanufacturerwarrantsheatercomponents (exceptpaintandfinish) tobefreefrom
defectinmaterialsandworkmanshipfor1yearfromthedateofpurchase. Allaccessories
(includedwithshowerorpurchasedseparately) arewarrantedfromdefectinmaterials
andworkmanshipfor90daysfromtheoriginalpurchasingdate. Withintheseperiods, the
manufacturerwillreplacethedefectiveparts.
Productpaintandfinisharenotwarranted. Theexteriorfinishoftheproductwillwear
downovertime.
