hot during the brew process. To avoid
risk of injury, do not lift the handle or
open the capsule chamber during the
brew process.
15. Do not overfill the water reservoir with
water. Use only water in this appliance!
Do not put any other liquids or foods in
the water reservoir except as
instructed in the cleaning instructions
in this guide.
16. Do not clean drip tray with cleaners,
steel wool pads, or other abrasive

18. Avoid contact with moving parts.
19. Check grinder basket for the presence
of foreign objects before using.
20. Use the coffee grinder to grind roasted
coffee beans only. Grinding other
substances, such as nuts, spices or
unroasted beans, may dull the blade
and cause poor grinding or injury.
21. Do not place a cloth or otherwise
restrict airflow beneath coffeemaker.
22. Only use single-serve pods intended
for this appliance. If the pod does not
fit, do not force the pod into the
appliance.
23. Do not operate your appliance in an
appliance garage or under a wall
cabinet. When storing in an
appliance garage, always unplug the
unit from the electrical outlet. Not
doing so could create a risk of fire,
especially if the appliance touches the
walls of the garage or the door touches
the unit as it closes.

SPECIAL CORD SET
INSTRUCTIONS
A short power-supply cord is provided to
reduce the risks resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer extension cords may be used if
care is exercised in their use.
An extension cord is used, the marked
electrical rating of the extension cord
must be at least as great as the electrical
rating of the appliance, and the longer
cord should be arranged so that it will not
drape over the countertop or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or
tripped over.
NOTICE
This appliance has a polarized plug (one
blade is wider than the other). To reduce
the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit
into a polarized outlet only one way. If the
plug does not fit fully into the outlet,

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place the box on a large, sturdy,
flat surface.
2. Remove any literature.
3. Turn the box so that the back side
of the coffeemaker is down and slide
the coffeemaker from the box.
4. After removing the coffeemaker, place
the box out of the way and place the
inserts back into the box.
5. Remove the polybag covering the
coffeemaker. We suggest you save all
packing materials in the event that
future shipping of the machine is
needed. Keep all plastic bags away
from children.
THE QUEST
FOR THE PERFECT
CUP OF COFFEE
ELEMENT 1 – WATER
Coffee is 98% water. The quality of that
water is as important as the quality of
your coffee. If water doesn’t taste good
from the tap, it won’t taste good in your
coffee. Cuisinart includes a charcoal water
filter to remove chlorine, bad tastes and
odors, for the purest coffee flavor every
time you brew.
ELEMENT 2 – COFFEE
While coffee is 98% water, the flavor
comes mainly from the beans. To achieve
the same great taste you enjoy at a coffee
bar, buy only a two-week supply of fresh
coffee beans at a time. Once the bean is
broken, its flavor degrades quickly. That’s
why this coffeemaker grinds your beans
just prior to brewing.
ELEMENT 3 – GRIND
The grind is critical for proper flavor
extraction. If the grind is too fine,
overextraction and bitterness will result.
Too fine a grind may also clog the filter.
If the grind is too coarse, the water will
pass through too quickly and the
maximum flavor will not be extracted.
Your coffeemaker is preset for medium
grind, the optimal grind for this type of
brewing process.
ELEMENT 4 – PROPORTION
Coffee that is too strong or too weak
is always a disappointment. Follow the
recommended portions in the instructions
under Making Coffee, and later adjust the
amount to your taste.

INSERTING THE
WATER FILTER
Your coffeemaker comes with a charcoal water
filter that eliminates chlorine, bad tastes and
odors from tap water.
• Remove the filter from polybag and
soak it, fully immersed, in cold tap water
for 15 minutes.
• Lift the water filter holder out of the
water reservoir.
• Press down on the filter compartment
and pull toward you to open.
• Place filter into the holder and snap it closed.
Be careful – improper placement can tear the
filter skin.
• Flush filter by running cold tap water
through holes in bottom of compartment for
10 seconds.
• Allow the filter to drain completely.
• Slide the water filter holder back into the
channel in the water reservoir, pushing it
down to the base of the unit.
NOTE: We recommend changing the water filter
every 60 days or after 60 uses, and more often if
you have hard water. Replacement filters can be
purchased in stores, or by calling Cuisinart
Consumer Service, or at www.cuisinart.com.

BEFORE BREWING YOUR
FIRST CUP OF COFFEE
INITIAL CLEANING
Perform an initial cleaning before making
your first beverage. Follow the instructions
below without inserting a pod.
1. Remove the reservoir from the unit.
2. Fill the reservoir and replace back into
the unit.
3. Plug the power cord into an
independent outlet. Press the Power
button to turn the unit on.
4. Open and close the brew head. Do not
add a capsule.
5. Place a mug on the drip tray.
6. Press the 10 oz. Brew Size button to
begin the brew cycle. The selected
indicator will start breathing and the
hot water will start to dispense
momentarily.
7. When the one-time cleaning process
is complete, discard the hot water.
Your brewer will now be ready to use.
MAKING COFFEE
WITH WHOLE BEANS
Follow instructions in “Before Brewing Your
First Cup of Coffee.”
GRINDING INTO
THE HOMEBARISTA
®
1. Remove the bean hopper lid and
add beans.
NOTE: The hopper holds up to
100 g of beans. The sealed lid keeps
them fresh.
2. Open the lid of the HomeBarista
®
Reusable Filter Cup and insert into the
holder below the grinder.
3. Press the Power button to turn on the
unit. The Power and Grind indicators
will illuminate.
4. Press the Grind button to start the
grind process. The grinder is set to
automatically turn off once the
HomeBarista
®
Reusable Filter Cup
is full.

BREWING WITH HOMEBARISTA
®
1. Remove the water reservoir and fill to
max fill line. Replace back into the unit.
If water is lower than minimum fill, the
Add Water indicator light will illuminate.
2. Open brew head lever and remove
the capsule holder from the brewing
chamber by pulling toward you.
3. Remove the HomeBarista
®
Reusable
Filter Cup from the grinder holder.
Make sure there are no grounds
remaining on the upper rim of the filter
basket. Close the lid and place into the
brewing chamber. There is no need to
snap it into place.
Caution: There are two sharp needles
in the brewing chamber that puncture
the capsule, one above and one below.
To avoid risk of injury, do not put your
fingers in the brewing chamber.
4. When the brew head lever is closed,
the Brew Size buttons will illuminate
solid. Press the desired cup size to
begin brewing.
NOTE: Brewing process can be
stopped during brewing. Simply press
selected Brew Size button again to
stop brewing.
5. When the brewing process is
complete, all Brew Size buttons will go
off. The Grind button will remain on for
use until the brew head lever is opened
to begin brewing process
6. After brewing, raise the handle
and remove the HomeBarista
®
Reusable Filter Cup. Use caution, as
the reusable coffee capsule will be hot.
7. Replace the capsule holder, ensuring
that the arrow on capsule holder rim
aligns with the arrow on the brewing
chamber. Gently push the capsule
holder to snap into place.
8. After use, open HomeBarista
®
.
Remove the filter basket from the
holder, discard the grounds and rinse
out the filter basket and holder. When
thoroughly dried, the HomeBarista
®
can be put into the compartment for
easy storage.
NOTE: HomeBarista
®
parts can be
cleaned with warm soapy water and
are dishwasher safe, top rack only.
NOTE: The HomeBarista
®
Reusable
Filter Cup
™
can be filled with pre-
ground coffee. Fill the filter basket
within the reusable capsule with
ground coffee, making sure not to fill
past the max indicator. Adjust the
amount to your personal preference.
Do not tamp the grounds. Make sure
there are no grounds remaining on the
upper rim of the filter basket. Close lid.
Max fill: 2.5 scoops or 15 grams.

MAKING COFFEE
WITH PODS
Follow instructions in “Before Brewing
Your First Cup of Coffee,” page 7.
1. Remove the water reservoir and fill to
max fill line. Replace back into the unit.
If water is lower than minimum fill, the
Add Water indicator light will illuminate.
2. Press the Power button to turn on the
unit. The Power and Grind indicators
will illuminate.
3. Place mug on the drip tray.
NOTE: Adjust positioning of the mug
depending on size and the selected
brew amount. Drip tray can be
removed to accommodate travel mugs.
4. Open brew head lever and add single-
cup pod of your choice.
5. When brew head lever is closed, the
Brew Size buttons will illuminate solid.
Press the desired cup size to begin
brewing.
NOTE: Brewing process can be
stopped during brewing. Simply press
selected Brew Size button again to
stop brewing.
Caution: The water in the capsule
chamber is very hot during the brewing
process. To avoid risk of injury, do not
lift the handle or open the capsule
chamber during the brewing process.
7. When the brewing process is
complete, all Brew Size buttons will
go off. The grind button will remain
on for use until the brew head lever
is opened to begin brewing process.
8. Lift the handle, then remove and
dispose of the used pod. Close the
brew head and your brewer is ready
to use again!
Caution: Pod will be hot.
9. Enjoy your cup of coffee!
NOTE: This coffeemaker is compatible
with most reusable coffee pods.
TIPS AND HINTS
• If you buy large portions of beans,
separate them into one-week portions
and store them in airtight containers
in the freezer. Preserve freshness by
minimizing exposure to air, light, and
moisture. Once beans are removed from
the freezer, keep them in a sealed
container at room temperature.
• Some experts feel freezing dark-roast
beans can cause oils to coagulate;
others disagree. You’ll need to decide
for yourself!

CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING EXTERNAL PARTS
We recommend regular cleaning of the
coffeemaker’s external components.
1. Never immerse the coffeemaker in
water or other liquids. The housing
and other external components may
be cleaned with a soapy, damp,
nonabrasive cloth.
2. To remove the drip tray, simply pull it
up, keeping it level at all times in order
to prevent spills. The drip tray and drip
tray plate are dishwasher safe. Do not
clean drip tray with cleaners, steel wool
pads or other abrasive materials.
CLEANING THE CAPSULE HOLDER
Caution: There are sharp needles that
puncture the capsule above and below.
To avoid risk of injury, do not put your
fingers in the capsule brewing chamber.
1. The capsule holder is top-shelf
dishwasher safe (use low temperature
cycle). To remove, lift the handle to
open the brewing chamber. Grasp the
top of the capsule holder and pull up.
2. Cleaning the Funnel – To remove
funnel from capsule holder, hold funnel
in left hand, twist bottom away from
you slightly and pull away from
capsule holder. The funnel is top-rack
dishwasher safe.
NOTE: The funnel may be tight the
first few times you try to remove it;
this is normal. It will loosen with
continued use.
3. Cleaning the Exit Needle – The exit
needle is located on the inside bottom
of the capsule holder assembly.
Should a clog arise because of coffee
grounds, it can be cleaned using a
paper clip or similar tool. Remove
capsule holder from unit, then remove
funnel from capsule holder and insert
the paper clip into exit needle to
loosen the clog and push it out.
Replace funnel onto capsule holder by
lining up tabs in funnel with notches on
capsule holder, twist toward you until it
locks into place. After cleaning, replace
capsule holder, making sure to align
the arrow on the capsule holder rim
with arrow on the brewing chamber.
4. Cleaning the Piercing Needle – The
piercing needle is located on the inside
of the brewing chamber. Should a clog
arise because of coffee grounds, it can
be cleaned using a paper clip or
similar tool. Insert paper clip to loosen
the clog and push it out.

CLEANING THE BEAN HOPPER
& BURR GRINDER
1. Unlock and remove burr grinder before
cleaning the bean hopper. Be sure to
empty beans from hopper before
unlocking and removing burr.
2. Bean Hopper – Clean with a soapy,
damp, nonabrasive cloth.
3. Burr Grinder – Use the scoop
brush to clean the grind outlet to clear
away excess grounds and wipe with
wet cloth. Burr grinder is not
dishwasher safe.
DECALCIFICATION
Decalcification refers to removing the
calcium deposits that form over time
on the metal parts of the coffeemaker.
When all the lights flash in sequence upon
turning the unit on, it is time to decalcify
your coffeemaker. We recommend
decalcifying every month for best
performance. But the frequency really
depends upon the hardness of your tap
water and how often you use the
coffeemaker.
Directions:
Step 1: Vinegar Rinse
• Fill water reservoir with 13 oz. of white
vinegar and 26 oz. of water.
• Place a mug or other container on
the drip tray.
• Open and close the brew head.
• Press and hold Power and 8 oz. buttons
for 2 seconds to start decalcification
function.
• Discard contents of mug into the sink.
• Repeat until Add Water light comes on.
• When decalcification is complete, the
Power and Grind buttons will illuminate.
• Discard any remaining diluted vinegar
into sink.
Step 2: Fresh Water Rinse
• Repeat Step 1 three times using fresh
water in place of vinegar mixture.
• This will clean the brewer’s plumbing
and remove any residual vinegar taste.
• The brewer is now ready for use.
Maintenance:
Any other servicing should be performed
by an authorized service representative.

PROBLEM:: SOLUTION:
Indicator lights are flashing If all button lights are flashing in sequence, it is time to clean the
coffeemaker. See decalcification instructions on page 11.
When the Grind button indicator is flashing, your grinder is overloaded.
Press the Power button and unplug the unit. Wait 5 seconds, the Grind
button will illuminate to grind again. If the Grind indicator is still flashing,
remove the burr grinder and clean it well.
If all Brew Size buttons are flashing, the coffeemaker is overloaded.
Coffeemaker can be used again after all lights stop flashing. Please
return appliance to the nearest Cuisinart Repair Center if all lights don’t
stop flashing.
Coffeemaker will not brew After placing either the HomeBarista
®
Reusable Filter Cup or a pod in
the brew chamber, make sure the handle is pushed down securely. All
button indicators should be illuminated solid. Press the desired Brew
Size button to begin brewing.
When the grind cycle is active, brewing cannot begin until grinding
is completed or canceled. To cancel the grind cycle, press the Grind
button once. To begin brewing, open and close the brew head.
Press the desired Brew Size button to begin brewing.
If the Add Water indicator is illuminated, check to make sure the water
reservoir is properly filled. If not, add water and make sure the water
reservoir is properly seated in its base.
The piercing needle and/or exit needle may be clogged (see page 10).
Coffeemaker not grinding
beans
Coffee beans may be too tightly packed. Do not fill above Max Fill line.
When the unit is brewing, the grinder function cannot be activated until
brewing is completed or canceled. To cancel the brew cycle, press the
Brew Size button once. To begin grinding, press the Grind button once.
Grinder may be jammed. Use the scoop brush to clean the grind
outlet and clear away excess grounds. The burr can also be removed for
cleaning. To remove the burr, turn the grind assembly until the lock
indicators are aligned. Pull the burr holder towards you and remove from
the unit.
Coffee residue appears on
lid of grinder
This is normal and will occur each time you grind beans. It should not
affect coffee flavor when brewing consecutive cups.
Coffee is not strong enough If the chute on the coffee grinder is not cleaned, it is possible for it to
collect enough residue to inhibit the flow of coffee grinds into the filter
basket – this will make your coffee weaker than expected. Be sure to
clean the chute portion when cleaning the coffee grinder.
Reduce the brew size for a stronger-tasting cup of coffee or try an
extra-bold coffee capsule.

available to retailers or other commercial
purchasers or owners. We warrant that your

Coffeemaker will be free of defects in materials
and workmanship under normal home use for 3
years from the date of original purchase.
We recommend that you visit our website,

efficient way to complete your product
registration. However, product registration does
not eliminate the need for the consumer to
maintain the original proof of purchase in order
to obtain the warranty benefits. In the event that
you do not have proof of purchase date, the
purchase date for purposes of this warranty
will be the date of manufacture.
CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY
California law provides that for In-Warranty
Service, California residents have the option of
returning a nonconforming product (A) to the
store where it was purchased or (B) to another
retail store that sells Cuisinart products of the
same type. The retail store shall then, according
to its preference, either repair the product, refer
the consumer to an independent repair facility,
replace the product, or refund the purchase
price less the amount directly attributable to the
consumer’s prior usage of the product.
If neither of the above two options results in the
appropriate relief to the consumer, the consumer
may then take the product to an independent
repair facility, if service or repair can be

PARA LA PREPARACIÓN
DE UN BUEN CAFÉ
ELEMENTO 1 – EL AGUA
El café está constituido por un 98%
de agua. Por lo tanto, la calidad del agua
es tan importante como la del café. Si el
agua tiene mal sabor, el café tendrá mal
sabor. Por eso Cuisinart equipó su
cafetera con un filtro de agua de carbón
que elimina el cloro y el mal sabor y olor,
para preparar café puro taza tras taza.
ELEMENTO 2 – EL CAFÉ
Aunque un 98 % del brebaje es agua,
el sabor proviene del café. Para preparar
café sabroso, compre solo un suministro
de dos semanas de granos de café
fresco a la vez. Una vez que se rompen
los granos, el sabor intenso y rico del
café comienza a deteriorarse. Por eso
Cuisinart equipó su cafetera con un
molinillo que muele los granos justo
antes de preparar el café.

–
LA MOLIENDA
La molienda es primordial para preservar
el sabor del café. Café molido muy fino
producirá un café amargo. También
puede atascar el filtro. Café molido muy
grueso dejará pasar el agua demasiado
rápidamente, lo que producirá un café
aguado. Su cafetera ha sido programada
para proporcionar un molido medio, el
grado óptimo para la preparación
automática del café.

INSTALACIÓN DEL
FILTRO DE AGUA
Su cafetera cuenta con un filtro de agua
de carbón que elimina el cloro y el mal olor/
sabor del agua corriente.
• Retire el filtro de la bolsa de plástico
y remójelo en agua fría por 15 minutos.
• Levante el soporte del filtro que se encuentra
en el depósito de agua de
la cafetera.
• Abra el soporte.
• Instale el filtro en el soporte y ciérrelo.
Importante: Haga esto con mucho con
cuidado; si no instala el filtro de manera
correcta, la membrana del filtro puede
romperse.
• Enjuague el filtro en agua fría por
10 segundos para limpiarlo, las aberturas
directamente bajo el flujo de agua.
• Permita que el filtro se seque por completo.
• Vuelva a colocar el soporte del filtro en
el depósito, empujándolo hasta el fondo.
NOTA: Se recomienda cambiar los filtros
de agua cada 60 días o 60 usos, o más
frecuentemente si el agua es dura.

jalando el asa de la tapa, y retire
el portacápsula de la cámara de
preparación, jalando hacia el frente.
3. Retire la cápsula reutilizable
HomeBarista
®
del portacápsula.
Compruebe que el borde de la cápsula
está limpio. Cierre la tapa de la cámara
de preparación sin presionar.
Precaución: Hay dos agujas afiladas
en el portacápsula (una arriba y una
en el fondo), cuyo papel es perforar
las cápsulas. Para evitar las lesiones,
no introduzca los dedos en el
portacápsula.
4. Cuando la cámara de preparación esté
cerrada, los indicadores de los botones
de tamaño de taza se encenderán.
Presione el botón deseado para
empezar la preparación.
NOTA: Para detener el ciclo de

cerciorándose de que el café no pasa
la línea “MAX”. Use más o menos café,
al gusto. No apisone el café.
Compruebe que la orilla del
portacápsula está limpia. Cierre la
tapa. Capacidad máxima: 2½
cucharadas (15 g) de café molido.

dependiendo del tamaño de taza
elegido (puede retirar la rejilla de la
bandeja para colocar una taza grande).
4. Abra la cámara de preparación
y agregue la cápsula monodosis
de su elección.
5. Cierre la cámara de preparación;
los indicadores de los botones de
tamaño de taza se encenderán.
Presione el botón deseado para
empezar la preparación.
NOTA: Para detener el ciclo de
preparación, simplemente presione

el botón del tamaño de taza usado
otra vez.

CONSEJOS Y
SUGERENCIAS
• Si compra grandes cantidades de café en
grano a la vez, divida los granos en
porciones para una semana y guárdelos
en el congelador, en recipientes
herméticos. Para maximizar el aroma del
café, evite exponer los granos al aire, a la
luz o a la humedad. Al sacar los granos
del congelador, mantenga el envase
cerrado a temperatura ambiente.
• Algunos expertos aconsejan no congelar
el café de tueste oscuro ya que sus
aceites pueden coagularse. Otros no
están de acuerdo. Le aconsejamos que
experimente y que decida por su cuenta.

LIMPIEZA DE LAS PARTES
EXTERNAS
Se recomienda limpiar la carcasa del
aparato regularmente.
1. Nunca sumerja la unidad en agua ni
en ningún otro líquido. Limpie la
carcasa y otros componentes externos
con un paño no abrasivo humedecido
en agua jabonosa.
2. Retire la bandeja de goteo con cuidado
para evitar los derrames. La rejilla y la
bandeja de goteo son aptas para
lavavajillas. No limpie la bandeja de
goteo con limpiadores abrasivos, lana
de acero u otros materiales abrasivos.
LIMPIEZA DEL PORTACÁPSULA
Precaución: Hay dos agujas afiladas en
el portacápsula (una arriba y una en el
fondo), cuyo papel es perforar las
cápsulas. Para evitar las lesiones, no
introduzca los dedos en el portacápsula.
1. El portacápsula es apto para
lavavajillas (bandeja superior
solamente), siempre que use baja
temperatura para lavar. Levante el asa
de la tapa para abrir la cámara de
preparación. Agarre el portacápsula
por la parte de arriba y jálelo hacia
arriba.

2. Limpieza del embudo del
portacápsula – Para retirar el embudo
del portacápsula, sosténgalo con una
mano mientras, gire ligeramente la
parte inferior, y jálelo con la otra mano.
El embudo es apto para lavavajillas
(bandeja superior solamente).
NOTA: Puede que el embudo sea muy
apretado y difícil de quitar las primeras
veces que lo saque; esto es normal.
Se aflojará con el tiempo.
3. Limpieza del pico del portacápsula –
El pico ubicado dentro del
portacápsula debe limpiarse en caso
de atascamiento, usando un
sujetapapeles u otro objeto similar.
Retire el portacápsula de la cámara de
preparación, y luego retire el embudo
del portacápsula. Introduzca la punta
del sujetapapeles en la salida del pico
del portacápsula para desatascarlo.
Para volver a instalar el embudo en
el portacápsula, haga coincidir las
patas del embudo con las muescas en
el portacápsula y gire hacia su cuerpo
hasta que encaje y se bloquee.
Después de lavarlo, vuelva a instalar
el portacápsula, haciendo coincidir la
flecha en la orilla del portacápsula con
la flecha en la cámara de preparación.
4. Limpieza de la aguja perforadora –
La aguja perforadora, ubicada dentro
de la cámara de preparación, debe
limpiarse en caso de atascamiento,
usando un sujetapapeles u otro objeto
similar. Introduzca la punta del
sujetapapeles en el pico para
desatascarlo.
LIMPIEZA DEL DEPÓSITO DE
CAFÉ EN GRANO Y DEL
MOLINILLO
1. Antes de limpiar el depósito de café en
grano, libere y retire el molinillo de
muelas. Nota: Cerciórese de vaciar el
depósito antes de liberar y retirar el
molinillo.
2. Depósito de café en grano - Limpie el
depósito de café en grano con un paño
no abrasivo humedecido en agua
jabonosa.
3. Molinillo - Use el cepillo de limpieza
para limpiar la boca de salida del café
molido y quitar el exceso de café
molido. Luego, límpielo con una paño
húmedo.
NOTA: El molinillo no es apto para
lavavajillas.

DESCALCIFICACIÓN
Con el tiempo, depósitos de calcio/sarro
se acumulan en las piezas metálicas de
la cafetera.
Si todas las luces empiezan a parpadear
al encender la unidad, esto significa que
debe descalcificar la cafetera. Para un
rendimiento óptimo, se recomienda
descalcificar la unidad cada mes.
NOTA: La frecuencia de la descalcificación
dependerá de la dureza del agua y de la
frecuencia de uso de la cafetera.
Modo de empleo:
Paso 1: Enjuague con vinagre
• Llene el depósito de agua con
13 oz (385 ml) de vinagre blanco
y 26 oz (770 ml) de agua.
• Coloque la taza de cerámica en
la bandeja de goteo.
• Abra y cierre la tapa de la cámara
de preparación.
• Mantenga presionado el botón 8oz por
2 segundos para iniciar el ciclo de
descalcificación.
• Al final del ciclo, tire el contenido
de la taza.
• Repita estos pasos hasta que el indicador
de nivel bajo (“ADD WATER”) se
encienda.
• Al final del ciclo de descalcificación, los
indicadores luminosos del botón de
encendido/apagado y del botón GRIND
se encenderán.
• Tire la mezcla de vinagre/agua restante.
Paso 2: Enjuague con agua fresca
• Repita el paso 1 tres veces usando agua
fresca en vez de vinagre.
• Esto enjuagará el sistema interno y
eliminará el sabor a vinagre.
Su cafetera está lista para su uso.
Mantenimiento:
Cualquier otro servicio debe ser realizado
por un técnico autorizado.

PROBLEMA: SOLUCIÓN:
Los indicadores
luminosos están
parpadeando.
Si todas las luces de los botones parpadean en secuencia, esto significa que el
tiempo de descalcificar la cafetera. Véase las instrucciones de descalcificación en
la página 11.
Cuando el indicador luminoso del botón GRIND empieza a parpadear, esto
significa que el molinillo está sobrecargado. Presione el botón de encendido/
apagado para apagar el aparato y desenchúfelo. Espere 5 segundos; el botón
GRIND permanecerá encendido. Si sigue parpadeando, retire el molinillo y límpielo
con cuidado.
Si todos los botones de tamaño de taza empiezan a parpadear, esto significa

La cafetera no inicia el
ciclo de preparación
Después de colocar la cápsula reutilizable HomeBarista
®
u otra cápsula pre-
llenada en la cámara de preparación, cerciórese que la cámara de preparación
está cerrada en forma segura, presionando firmemente el asa. Todos los
indicadores luminosos deben estar encendidos. Presione el botón de tamaño
de taza deseado para empezar la preparación.
Cuando active el modo de molienda, el ciclo de preparación no puede empezar
hasta que la molienda se termine o que la cancele. Si desea interrumpir la
molienda antes del final, presione el botón GRIND una vez. Para empezar la
preparación, abra y cierre la tapa de la cámara de preparación.
Presione el botón de tamaño de taza deseado para empezar la preparación.
Si el indicador de nivel bajo se enciende, cerciórese de que hay suficientemente agua en el
depósito. Compruebe que el depósito de agua está correctamente asentado en su base.
Puede que la aguja perforadora o el pico del portacápsula estén atascados. De ser así,
límpielos (véase las instrucciones en la página 10).
El molinillo no muele los
granos de café
Puede que los granos de café estén demasiado apretujados. No llene el depósito
más allá de la línea de llenado máximo “MAX”.
El molinillo no puede activarse durante la preparación; espere hasta el final del
ciclo o cancélelo. Para cancelar el ciclo de preparación, presione el botón del
tamaña de taza usado. Para empezar a moler, presione el botón GRIND una vez.
Puede que el molinillo esté atascado. Use el cepillo de limpieza para limpiar la
boca de salida del café molido y quitar el exceso de café molido. Si lo desea,
también puede retirar el molinillo para limpiarlo. Para retirar el molinillo, gire el
sistema de molido hasta que los indicadores “LOCK” queden alineados. Jale el
soporte del sistema de molienda hacia fuera para retirarlo de la unidad.
Hay residuos de café en
la tapa del molinillo
Esto es normal y sucederá cada vez que muela granos de café. No afectará el
sabor del café siempre que prepare tazas consecutivas.
El café no es lo
suficientemente fuerte
Si el conducto de salida del café molido está sucio, es posible que residuos de
café estén obstruyendo el flujo de café, haciendo que el café sea menos fuerte
que de costumbre. Cerciórese de limpiar el conducto de salida del café molido
cuando limpia el molinillo.
Escoja un tamaño de taza más pequeño o prueba una cápsula de café extrafuerte.
