Foods frozen in paper or plastic
can be time deflosted in tile
package, 1)ut foods should be
taken out of the package when
using I)EFI¢OST (AUTO). Closed
packages should be slit, pierced or
vented after food has partially
defrosmd. Plastic storage
containers should be partially
uncovered.
Family-size, prepackaged flozen
dinners can be deflosted and
microwaved. If the food is in a foil
container, transfer it to a
microwave-safe dish.
Foods that spoil easily should not
be allowed to sit out for more
than one hour after defrosting.
Room mmperature promoms the
growth of harmflfl bacteria.
For more even defiosting of
larger foods, such as roasts, use
DEFI¢OST (AUTO). Be sure large
meats are completely defrosted
betbre cooking.
When deflosted, food should be
cool but softened in all areas.
If still slightly icy, return m the
microwave ve W briefly, or let
it stand a few minutes.
