DEFROSTING TIPS
• When using Auto Defrost,theweight to be entered is
the netweight in pounds and tenths of pounds (the
weight of thefood minus thecontainer).
• Before starting, make sure you have removed any of
the metal twist-tieswhich often come with frozen food
bags, and replace them with stringsor elasticbands.
• Open containers such as cartons before they are
placed in theoven.
• Always slit or pierce plasticpouchesor packaging.
• If food is foil wrapped, remove foil and place it in a
suitable container.
• Slit the skins, ifany, offrozen food suchas sausage.
• Bend plasticpouches of foodto ensure even
defrosting.
• Always underestimate defrosting time. Ifdefrosted
food isstill icy in the center, return itto the microwave
oven for moredefrosting.
• The length ofdefrosting time varies according to how
solidly thefood is frozen.
• The shape of the package affects howquickly food
will defrost. Shallow packages willdefrost more
quickly than a deep block.
• As food begins to defrost, separate the pieces.
Separated pieces defrost moreeasily.
• Use small pieces of aluminum foil to shieldparts of
food such as chickenwings, legtips, fish tails,or
areas thatstart to get warm. Make sure the foildoes
nottouch the sides,top, or bottom ofthe oven.The
foil can damage the oven lining.
• For better results, letfood stand after defrosting.

• Turn over foodduringdefrosting or standing time.
Breakapart and remove food as required.
Q DEFROST
The Q DEFROST feature provides you with the rapid
defrosting method for 1.0 pound ground beef. The oven
automatically sets the defrosting time for ground beef.
Example: To defrost ground beef.
1. Touch Q DEFROST pad.
2. Touch START pad.
USE OF THE TWO POSITION
METAL RACK
The two position metal rack gives you extra space
when cooking in more than one container at the same
time. The metal rack can be turned upside down to
accomodate different container sizes.
To use rack:
1. Place rack securely in the four plastic supports.
• Rack MUST NOT touch metal walls or back of
microwave oven.
2. Place equal amounts of food both ABOVE and
BELOW rack.
• Amount of food must be approximately the same
to balance out cooking energy.
