B INSTALLING THE WATER LINE (CONT.)
[] CONNECT THE TUBING TO THE
REFRIGERATOR
NOTES:
Before making tile connection to tile refrigerator,
be sure tile refrigerator, power cord is not I)lugged,,
into tile wall outlet.
We recommend installing a water filter if wmr
water sui)ply has sand or particles that could clog
the screen of the refrigerator's water valve. Install
it in the water line near the refrigerator. If using
GE SmartConnect "_Refrigerator Tubing kit,
wm will need an additional tube (_3X08X10002)
to connect tile filter. Do not cut plastic tube to
install filter.

Remove the plastic flexible cap from tile water
_al_e (refrigerator connection).
Place tile compression nut and terrule (sleeve)
onto tile end of tile tubing as shown. On (;E
SmartConnect "_ Refrigerator Tubing kit,
tile nuts are already assembled to tile tubing.
Insert tile end of tile tubing into tile water valve
connection as fin" as possible. While holding tile
tubing, tighten the fitting,
For plastic tubing fl'om a GE SmartConnect _''
Refligerator Tubing kit, insert the molded end
of the tubing into the shutoff wdve and tighten
compression nut until it is hand tight, then
tighten one additional tm'n with a wrench.
Overtightening may cause leaks.

Fasten tile tubing- into tile clamp provided to
hold it in a vertical position. '_%u ma} need to
pr} open tile clamp.

ON AT THE
SHUTOFF VALVE
Tighten an) connections
that leak.
[] PLUG IN THE REFRIGERATOR
Arrange tile coil of tubing so that it does not xibrate
against tile back of the refl-igerator or against the wall.
Push tile refl-igerator back to tile wall.
[] START THE ICEMAKER
Moxe tile feeler ann to the ON(clo_v_l) position. The
icemaker will not begin to operate mltil it reaches
its operating temperatnre of 15°F (-9°C) or below.
It will then begdn operation automaticall).

NOTE: hi lower water pressm'e conditions, the
water valve ma\ turn on up to 3 times to deliver
enough water to tile icemaker.
