Simpson SWT9542 Questions and Answers

#1 I want to just use a spin cycle as sometimes I hand wash some clothes and just want to spin. I was able to do this on my old machine. How do I do it on this machine please???

In order to simply isolate the spin cycle, you need to select the 'Drain + Spin' program. Even if there is no water to drain and you are simply placing wet clothes into the drum for spinning, this is the correct program to use. There will still be a delay of a couple of minutes before the spin begins for your safety.

#2 Can you please advise what are the specific differences between the gentle, wool and handwash cycles? and are these differences identical on all models?

Simpson has specified that the differences between the wool and hand wash cycle are as follows: Woollens: For woollen fabrics labelled “Machine Washable”. Hand Wash: For articles of clothing whose label indicates that they must be hand-washed. Woollens cycle will use cold water whereas the Hand Wash cycle uses warm water and also the Hand wash cycle has an additional soaking system which is deployed for 15 mins. The differences are exactly the same on all Simpson units.

#3 I do not want a child safety lock as I want to be able to open and close the machine when it suits me. Is there a way not to activate that lock. I don't want a machine that starts the whole cycle again just because I opened the lid.

This model's child lock feature means that if you wanted to open the lid mid cycle you would need to pause the cycle before doing so. At which point you can open the lid and continue the cycle from the point at which you paused it.
