The water heater has a plastic dip tube
in the inlet fittings and the outlet fittings
of a 050 model (see diagram). This
must be in place for the water heater to
function properly. Do not remove or
damage them by using heat nearby. It
will be pushed into the correct position
as the fitting is screwed in.
LEFT AND RIGHT HAND SIDE WATER CONNECTIONS
080 to 315 model: A ¾” brass plug is supplied with the water heater to plug off
the unused cold water fitting on a 080 to 315 model. When installing the brass
plug, apply thread sealing tape or an approved thread sealant to the plug thread
before installation. Tighten the plug.
050 model: The cold and hot water supplies and temperature pressure relief
valve can be connected to either side of a 050 model with both left and right hand
side connections. A kit is supplied with the water heater to plug off the unused
cold water and hot water fittings, and the unused temperature pressure relief
valve fitting.
The kit contains:
2 x ¾” brass plugs
1 x ½” brass plug
1 x allen key
Plugging Off Unused Connections
Apply approved sealing tape or
compound to the thread of each
plug.
Fit the ¾” plugs to the unused cold
water fitting and unused hot water
fitting. Tighten the plugs with the
allen key supplied.
Fit the ½” plug to the unused TPR valve fitting. Tighten the plug with the allen
key supplied.
HEAT TRAP
The hot water outlet is located on top of the water heater on 080 to 315 models.
An external heat trap is required be installed. The heat trap is to be within one (1)
metre of the hot water outlet, before the first hot water branch and have a vertical
drop of 250 mm from the outlet of the water heater.
