INSTALLING THE WATER LINE (CONT.)
[] FASTEN THE SHUTOFF VALVE
Fasten the shutott xalxe to the cold water pipe with
the pipe clamp.

[] TIGHTEN THE PIPE CLAMP
Tighten the clamp screws tmtil the sealing washer
begins to swell.
NOTE: Do not oxertighten or )ou may c_ush the
tubing

[] ROUTE THE TUBING
Route the tubing between the cold water line and
the refl'igera tot.
Route the tubing through a hole drilled in the wall
or floor (1)ehind the refligerator or ac!jacent base
cabinet) as close to the wall as possible.
NOTE: Be sm'e there is sufficient extra tubing
(about 8' [9.4 m] coiled into 3 turns of about 10"
[25 cm] diameter) to alh)w the refl'igerator to move
out fl'om the wall atter installation.
[] CONNECT THE TUBING TO THE
VALVE
Place the compression nut and tbrt ule (sleexe)
fi)r COl)per tubing onto the end of the tubing and
connect it to the shutoff xalxe.
Make sm'e the robing is flfllv inserted into the valve.
Tighten the compression nut securely.
For plastic tubing fl'om a (kE SmartConnect'"
Refl'igerator Tubing kit, insert the molded end
of the robing into the shutoff wflve and tighten
compression nut until it is hand-tight; then tighten
one additional mrn with a wrench. Overtightening
III_IV Catlse leaks.

Tm'n the main water suI_ply on and flush out the
robing tmtil the water is clear.
Shut the water off at the water valve alter about
one quart (l liter) of water has been flushed
through the tubing.
