SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND IMPORTANT NOTES
■
This appliance is primarily designed for personal
household use. Do not use it for commercial purposes,
in industrial surroundings or for weighing animals.
■
Do not use the appliance for any other purposes than
those intended.
■ Carefully unpack the appliance and take care not to
throw away any part of the packaging before you find
all the parts of the appliance.
■
The appliance may be used by children and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or with
insufficient experience and knowledge only if they are
supervised by competent persons. Ensure their safety.
■ Children must be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the appliance.
■
During use, it necessary to ensure that the appliance is
located on an even, smooth, hard and stable surface.
Otherwise, this may result in weighing inaccuracies.
■
In the event that the maximum weighing capacity
is exceeded, remove the excessively heavy food or
item from the weighing platform to prevent possible
damage to the appliance.
■ Do not use the appliance as aplace for placing items.
It must be ensured that no items are placed on the
appliance during storage.

Keep the appliance away from extreme temperatures,
direct sunlight and excessive humidity. Do not use it
in an overly dusty environment.
■
Do not place the appliance near heaters, open fires
or other equipment or devices that are sources of
heat. Use and store it away from flammable or volatile
substances.
■
If you will not be using the appliance for an extended
period of time, remove the batteries. Otherwise they
may leak inside the appliance and cause irreparable
damage.
■
Dispose of the batteries ecologically at the end of their
lifetime. Never throw batteries out with communal
waste.
■
Do not use rechargeable batteries to power this
appliance.
■
Keep the batteries out of children’sreach as they may
present ahazard to achild. In the event that achild
swallows abattery, immediately seek medical help.
■ Keep the appliance clean. When cleaning, follow the
instructions in chapter “Cleaning and maintenance”.
■ Do not submerge the appliance under water or any
other liquid and do not rinse it under running water.
■
The manufacturer takes no responsibility for damages
caused by the incorrect use of the appliance.

Before first use, please read all instructions contained in this user‘smanual carefully, even
if you are already familiar with using similar products. Only use this product in accordance
with the instructions described in the user‘smanual. Keep this user‘smanual in asafe place
where it can be easily retrieved for future use.
Save the original packaging, including the internal packing material, warranty card and proof
of purchase receipt, at least for the duration of the warranty. If you need to ship this product,
pack it in the original cardboard box to ensure maximum protection during shipping or
transport (e.g., when moving or when you need to send this product for repair).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Turning the scale on and off
Attention:
Prior to first use, open the battery compartment cover on the underside of the
scale and remove the insulating strip that prevents the battery from discharging
during transport.
1) The scale has an “Auto-On” function. To start the scale, use your hand to push down on the
weighing platform or place the weighed item on it.
Note: We recommend starting the scale by pushing down on the weighing platform with
your hand. The scale will only start automatically when a sufficiently heavy item is placed
on it (usually approx. 0.5 kg). If you start the scale by placing an item on the weighing
platform, the weight of 0 will be shown. This option is thus particularly suitable when
you need to place a bowl in which the ingredients will be weighed on to the scale prior
to weighing the actual ingredients.
2) Turn off the scale by pressing the “TARE / OFF” button.
Attention:
The scale turns itself off automatically after approximately 60 seconds after
displaying "0.0" on the LCD display or in the event that it is idle. If you turn it off
yourself after weighing using the "TARE / OFF" button you will save the battery.

Toggling measuring units
While weighing, you may toggle between the measuring units (g-> ml -> lb:oz -> fl.oz). by
pressing the “UNIT” button.
Weighing procedure
1) To start weighing, place the item that is to be weighed on the weighing surface. The scale
will be started automatically.
2) If necessary select the measuring unit (g -> ml -> lb:oz -> fl .oz).
3) Place the food that you wish to weigh on the weighing surface.
4) The weight will be shown on the display in the selected units.
Additional weighing function (TARE)
1) To start weighing, place the item that is to be weighed on the weighing surface. The scale
will be started automatically.
2) If necessary select the measuring unit (g -> ml -> lb:oz -> fl .oz).
3) Place the food that you wish to weigh carefully on the plate.
4) As soon as the scale stabilises, press the “TARE / OFF” button. The current weight will be
deleted and the display will be reset to zero.
5) Place other food on the scale. The display will only show the weight of the ingredients
that are subsequently placed on the scale.
6) In this way you may continue to weigh additional ingredients by adding them step by
step and repeating steps 4 and 5.
How to turn off the additional weighing function (TARE)
Remove all ingredients from the scale. The weight will show anegative value. Press the “TARE
/ OFF” button to reset the scale to zero.
OVERLOAD INDICATOR
If the scale is overloaded (max. capacity 5 kg), the display will show the symbol “EEEE”. Remove
the food from the scale immediately so as not to damage the scale.
REPLACING BATTERIES
If the display shows the dead battery icon “Lo”, it is time to change the battery.
1) Remove the battery compartment cover on the bottom part of the scale.
2) Remove the old battery.
3) Place one 3V type CR2032 lithium battery into the battery compartment. Pay attention
to the polarity. The positive pole must always be facing upwards.

Attention:
■
If you will not be using the scale for along time, store it in ahorizontal
position. This position better protects the sensitive sensors located in the
feet of the scale.
■
Do not place or leave any objects on the scale that may place an unnecessary
load on the sensors.
■
Strong electromagnetic fields may negatively influence the weighing
precision. Avoid using the scale in such areas.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
To clean the outside parts of the appliance use afine cloth dipped in lukewarm water. Do
not use aggressive cleaning agents, paint thinners or solvents. Using these solutions could
damage the surface of the product.
DISPOSAL OF USED BATTERIES
This product comes with one alkaline battery. Do not dispose of old batteries with regular
household waste. Dispose of batteries at designated battery disposal points.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the scale displays random values or if it does not turn off automatically, you need to restart
it. In such cases, remove the batteries for about 10 seconds and place them back again. The
scale should function normally.

PACKAGING MATERIALS
Dispose of used packaging material at asite designated for waste in your municipality.
DISPOSAL OF USED ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
This symbol on products or original documents means that used electric or
electronic products must not be added to ordinary municipal waste. For proper
disposal, renewal and recycling hand over these appliances to determined
collection points. Alternatively, in some European Union states or other
European countries you may return your appliances to the local retailer when
buying an equivalent new appliance.
Correct disposal of this product helps save valuable natural resources and prevents
potential negative effects on the environment and human health, which could result from
improper waste disposal. Ask your local authorities or collection facility for more details.
In accordance with national regulations penalties may be imposed for the incorrect
disposal of this type of waste.
For business entities in European Union states
If you want to dispose of electric or electronic appliances, ask your retailer or supplier
for the necessary information.
Disposal in other countries outside the European Union.
