IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using an electrical appliance, especially when children are present,
basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. Always unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
Allow to cool before cleaning or handling.

part of the toaster in water or other liquids. See instructions for cleaning.
5. This appliance should not be used by or near children, or individuals with
certain disabilities. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is

appliance has malfunctioned or has been dropped, dropped in water or
damaged in any way, or if it is not operating properly. Return the toaster to
the store or retailer where purchased for examination, repair or adjustment.
7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by Cuisinart may
cause injury.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over the edge of the table or countertop or touch
hot surfaces.
10. Do not place toaster on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a
heated oven.
11. Do not use this toaster for anything other than its intended use.
12. Oversize foods, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted
in the toaster, as they may involve a risk of re or electric shock.
13. A re may occur if the toaster is covered or touching ammable
materials, such as curtains, draperies or walls, when in operation.
Do not operate under wall cabinets.
14. Do not attempt to dislodge food when the toaster is plugged into an
electrical outlet.
15. To avoid possibility of re, do not leave toaster unattended during use.
16. To disconnect, push the Cancel button, then remove plug from wall.
Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool
before putting on or taking off parts.
17. Do not operate your appliance in an appliance garage or under a wall
cabinet. When storing in an appliance garage, always unplug the unit
from the electrical outlet. Not doing so could create a risk of re,
especially if the appliance touches the walls of the garage or the door
touches the unit as it closes.

SPECIAL CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer extension cords
are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
If a long extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the extension
cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and
the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop
or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
NOTICE: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not
fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

INTRODUCTION
Introducing a toaster built for all of your favorite artisan, homemade, and bakery breads. Each slot can hold two regular-sized slices of bread
or an extra-long slice from your favorite bakery. Longer slots are wider too, to accommodate different shapes, thicker slices, and bigger bagels.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Unwind the power cord. Check that the crumb tray is in place and that
there is nothing in the toaster slots. Plug power cord into the wall outlet.
GENERAL OPERATION
1. Insert slice(s) of bread
Slots are large enough for 4 regular-sized slices or 2 long slices.
Note: Make sure that the lever is in the up position.
2. Set the browning level
Turn dial to desired shade setting number 1–7.
Shade range is as follows:
SETTING COLOR
1–2 light
3–4 medium
5–7 dark
3. To begin toasting
Press the carriage lever until it locks in the down position and toasting
will begin.
4. Select desired bread options
Bagel, Reheat and/or Defrost can only be selected once the lever is in
the down position and toasting has started. Blue indicator will light up
indicating function has been selected.
5. To stop cycle
When the toasting cycle is nished, the toast will be raised. If you wish
to stop the cycle before it is nished, simply touch the Cancel button.
6. After use, unplug the toaster from the electrical outlet.

Bagel
The Bagel function adds extra time to the toasting cycle to allow for thicker
breads. Bagel LED will be lit when selected.
Defrost
The Defrost function is a longer cycle designed to rst defrost and then
toast the bread to the desired browning shade. Defrost LED will be lit
when selected.
Reheat
The Reheat function allows to reheat bread without browning or toasting.
Reheat LED will be lit when selected.
Cancel
The Cancel function will stop the toasting process and automatically
lift the bread.

TIPS AND HINTS
Notes on Browning
Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying of the bread. Therefore,
differences in moisture level from one item to another can result in varying
toasting times.
• For slightly dry bread, use a lower setting than you normally would.
• For very fresh bread or whole-wheat bread, use a higher setting
than normal.
• Breads with very uneven surfaces (such as English mufns) will
require a higher toast setting.
• Thickly cut pieces of bread will take longer to toast, sometimes
signicantly longer, since more moisture must be evaporated from the
bread before toasting can occur. Very thick pieces may require two cycles.
• When toasting raisin or other fruit breads, remove any loose raisins,
etc., from the surface of the bread before placing into the toaster.
This will help prevent fruit pieces from falling into the toaster or sticking
on the guide wires in the slots.
• Before toasting bagels, slice into two equal halves.
Frozen Bread, Waffles, Pancakes, French Toast and Bagels
Use the Defrost function to defrost and then toast these items.
Simply insert the frozen item, select desired function, select Defrost, select
desired browning setting (1–7) and then press down the lever to start.
Toaster Pastries
Exercise caution with toaster pastries; the lling can become quite hot long
before the surface of the pastry gets browned. Start by using the lightest
setting. Never leave toaster pastries unattended while toasting or warming.
For Best Results
• Never force foods into the toasting slots. Foods should t freely
between the guide wires.
• Do not place buttered breads in the toaster, as this could create
a re hazard.
• Uneven toasting is usually due to inserting slices of uneven thickness.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Always allow the toaster to cool completely before cleaning.
1. Always unplug the toaster from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
2. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Simply wipe the exterior with a clean,
damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
3. To remove crumbs, slide out the crumb tray and discard crumbs.
Wipe clean and replace. Never operate the toaster without the crumb
tray in place.
4. To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the toaster, unplug the
toaster, turn it upside down and gently shake. Never insert any hard or
sharp instruments into the slots, as this could damage the toaster and
cause a safety hazard.
5. Never wrap the cord around the outside of the toaster. Use the cord
storage cleats on the underside of the toaster.
6. Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized
service representative.

in materials and workmanship under normal home use for 3 years from
the date of original purchase.

to obtain the warranty benefits. In the event that you do not have proof of

California law provides that for In-Warranty Service, California residents
have the option of returning a nonconforming product (A) to the store

INTRODUCCIÓN
Su nueva tostadora ha sido especialmente diseñada para tostar todos
sus panes artesanales, caseros y de panadería favoritos. Cada ranura es
suficientemente larga y ancha como para acomodar dos rebanadas regulares
o una rebanada extra-larga de pan de su panadería favorita. Las ranuras
también son más anchas, para tostar rebanadas de forma irregular, rebanadas
más gruesas y panecillos (“bagels”) más grandes. ¿Le gustan las rebanadas
delgadas? No es un problema... ¡Rejillas autocentrantes garantizan resultados
perfectos cualquiera que sea el artículo que está tostando!
PIEZAS Y CARACTERÍSTICAS
1. Ranuras extra-largas
Ranuras de 10 in. (25.5 cm) de largo y 1½ in. (4 cm) de ancho, para tostar
una gran variedad de panes. Lo suficiente largas y anchas para acomodar
4 rebanadas regulares o 2 rebanadas largas.
2. Palanca elevadora alta
Permite alzar las tostadas hasta arriba para sacarlas fácilmente.
3. Botón BAGEL (panecillos)
Incrementa la duración del ciclo de tostado. El indicador luminoso LED
se enciende al seleccionar esta opción.
4. Botón REHEAT (recalentar)
Recalienta el pan sin dorarlo/tostarlo. El indicador luminoso LED
se enciende al seleccionar esta opción.
5. Botón DEFROST (descongelar)
Permite descongelar, y luego tostar los artículos congelados.
El indicador luminoso LED se enciende al seleccionar esta opción.
6. Selector del grado de tostado
Simplemente deslice la palanca para elegir el grado de tostado entre
7 niveles, desde ligeramente tostado hasta muy tostado.
7. Botón CANCEL (cancelar)

ANTES DEL PRIMER USO
Desenrolle y enderece el cable. Cerciórese de que la bandeja recogemigas
está en su sitio y de que no hay nada en las ranuras. Enchufe el cable en
una toma de corriente.
OPERACIÓN GENERAL
1. Introduzca rebanada(s) de pan en la(s) ranura(s)
Las ranuras son lo suficiente largas y anchas para acomodar 4 rebanadas
regulares o 2 rebanadas largas.
Nota: Compruebe que la palanca elevadora está arriba.
2. Elija el grado de tostado
Gire el selector del grado de tostado para elegir el grado de tostado
deseado, desde 1 hasta 7.
Grados de tostado:
AJUSTE GRADO DE TOSTADO
1–2 claro/ligeramente tostado
3–4 medio
5–7 oscuro/muy tostado
3. Para iniciar el ciclo de tostado
Baje la palanca elevadora hasta que se bloquee; el ciclo de tostado se
iniciará.
4. Elija las opciones de tostado deseadas
Después de que el ciclo de tostado haya empezado (después de bajar
la palanca elevadora), elija las opciones deseadas, oprimiendo el botón
BAGEL (panecillos), REHEAT (recalentar) y/o DEFROST (descongelar).
El indicador luminoso azul se encenderá para indicar que la función ha
sido elegida.
5. Para interrumpir el ciclo de tostado
El pan subirá automáticamente al final del ciclo de tostado. Si desea
interrumpir el ciclo antes del final, oprima el botón CANCEL.
6. Desenchufe el aparato después del uso.
FUNCIONES
BAGEL (panecillos)
La función “BAGEL” (panecillos) incrementa la duración del ciclo de
tostado para tostar panes gruesos/densos.
El indicador luminoso LED del botón BAGEL se enciende cuando elija esta
función.
“DEFROST” (descongelar)
La función “DEFROST” permite descongelar el pan antes de dorarlo/
tostarlo. El indicador luminoso LED del botón DEFROST se enciende
cuando elija esta función.
“REHEAT” (recalentar)
La función “REHEAT” permite recalentar el pan sin dorarlo/tostarlo.
El indicador luminoso LED del botón REHEAT se enciende cuando elija
esta función.
“CANCEL” (cancelar)
La función “CANCEL” interrumpe el ciclo de tostado y levanta
automáticamente el pan.

TCONSEJOS Y SUGERENCIAS
Consejos generales
Las tostadoras secan y asan el pan simultáneamente. Por lo tanto, el
contenido de humedad del producto (que varía de un producto a otro)
afecta el tiempo necesario para tostarlo.
• Si el pan está ligeramente seco, use un ajuste más bajo de lo normal.
• Si el pan está fresco o si tuesta pan de trigo integral, use un ajuste
más alto de lo normal.
• Use un ajuste más alto de lo normal para tostar pan con superficie
irregular, tales como los “muffins” ingleses.
• Las rebanadas gruesas necesitan más tiempo (a veces mucho más
tiempo) para tostarse, debido a su alto contenido de humedad. Las
rebanadas muy gruesas pueden requerir hasta dos ciclos de tostado.
• Antes de tostar pan con pasas u otras frutas secas, quite las frutas
sueltas antes de colocar el pan en la tostadora;
esto evitará que los pedazos de fruta caigan en la tostadora o se
peguen a la rejilla.
• Corte los panecillos (“bagels”) longitudinalmente a la mitad antes de
tostar las mitades.
Pan, waffles/gofres, panqueques, tostadas francesas (“French
toasts”) y panecillos (“bagels”) congelados
Use la función “DEFROST” para descongelar, y luego tostar estos
artículos.
Simplemente coloque el artículo congelado en la ranura, elija la función
deseada y oprima el botón DEFROST. Luego, elija el grado de tostado (de
1 a 7) y baje la palanca para iniciar el ciclo de tostado.
Productos rellenos tipo “Pop-Tarts”
Tenga cuidado al tostar artículos rellenos tipo “Pop-Tarts”; el relleno se
pondrá muy caliente, mucho antes de que el hojaldre parezca tostado.
Empiece a tostar usando el ajuste más bajo. Siempre vigile estos artículos
durante el recalentamiento o el tostado.
Para resultados óptimos
• Nunca introduzca los alimentos a la fuerza en las ranuras; deben
caber libremente entre las rejillas.
• No tueste pan untado con mantequilla; esto puede crear un riesgo
incendio.
• Si el grosor de las rebanadas no es uniforme, las rebanadas no se
tostarán uniformemente.
LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO
Permita que el aparato se enfríe completamente antes de limpiarlo.
1. Siempre desenchufe el aparato antes de limpiarlo.
2. No use limpiadores abrasivos. Simplemente limpie la carcasa del aparato
con un paño ligeramente humedecido y séquelo bien.
3. Para eliminar las migajas, deslice la bandeja recogemigas hacia fuera.
Limpie la bandeja y vuelva a colocarla en su lugar. Nunca haga funcionar
el aparato sin la bandeja recogemigas.
4. Para quitar pedazos de pan atascados en la tostadora, desenchufe el
aparato, voltéelo y sacúdalo suavemente. Nunca introduzca ningún
utensilio duro o afilado en las ranuras; esto puede dañar el aparato u
ocasionar riesgos para el usuario.
5. Nunca enrolle el cable alrededor del aparato; más bien, enróllelo debajo
del mismo.
6. Cualquier otro servicio debe ser realizado por un técnico autorizado.
