The applications database and any instructional information provided has been designed to offer
general guidance for a particular product’s use and while all attention is given to the accuracy of
the data, no project should be attempted without referring first to the manufacturer’s technical
documentation (workshop or instruction manual) or the use of a recognised authority such as
Autodata.

9. PROCEDURE AND APPLICATION GUIDE

Component I & J
Remove crankshaft pulley securing bolt and pulley. Install sleeve J in place of crankshaft
pulley and secure with crankshaft pulley bolt Fig 1. Remove crankshaft pulley oil seal with
suitable tool, once removed, remove bolt and sleeve. Lightly lubricate new oil seal and slide
onto the rear of oil seal thrust plate I, place in position over the old oil seal aperture and screw
in the crankshaft pulley bolt, to press in the new oil seal Fig 2.
