Lubricate Mower Deck
Lubricate the pulleys at the location shown in Figure 23.

Replacing the Mower Belts
WARNING
To avoid damaging belts, do not pry belts over
pulleys.
PTO Belt Replacement
1. Park the tractor on a smooth, level surface such as a
concrete driveway. Disengage the PTO, turn off the
engine, and lock the parking brake. Remove the key.
2. Remove mower deck (see Removing the Mower
Deck).
3. Remove screws and cover (A, Figure 24) for left blade
spindle.
4. Pull the idler pulley lever (B) to relieve belt tension.
Remove the belt (C) from the PTO pulley (D).
5. Remove the old belt and replace with a new one. Pull
the idler pulley lever to install the belt on the idler pulley.
Make sure the V-side of the belt runs in the pulley
grooves.
6. Install mower deck (see Installing the Mower Deck).
Blade Belt Replacement
1. Park the tractor on a smooth, level surface such as a
concrete floor. Disengage the PTO, turn off the engine,
and lock the parking brake. Remove the key.
2. Remove mower deck (see Removing the Mower
Deck).
3. Remove screws and covers (A, Figure 24) for left and
right blade spindle.
4. Remove the PTO belt (see PTO Belt Replacement).
5. Remove the blade belt (E, Figure 25) from left and right
blade spindle (F and G).
6. Remove the old belt and replace with a new one. Make
sure the V-side of the belt runs in the pulley grooves.
7. Reinstall PTO belt.
8. Install mower deck (see Installing the Mower Deck).
