Can I leave the air conditioner installed
through the winter?
This is not recommended. The air conditioner should
be brought indoors during the winter months.
What are the watts and amps used?
Information pertaining to watts and amps can be
found on the rating plate located on the side of the
air conditioner.
Can I use an extension cord?
No, an extension cord may not be used.
Is there supposed to be Styrofoam in the
air conditioner?
The Styrofoam that is inside the air conditioner acts
as insulation. Do not remove it. Only remove loose
packaging.
Why do I hear water in the air conditioner?
Water is collected during the air conditioning
process. This water will drain out of the air
conditioner and onto the ground. For this reason,
the air conditioner should be installed on a slight
downward tilt towards the outside.
How much does it cost to run the air
conditioner?

Appliance is not properly angled to allow water
to drain to the outside
Water dripping outside
On very hot or humid days dripping water from
the back of the appliance is normal
Frost build up
When outdoor temperatures are below 18.3°C
(65°F) frost may form when the appliance is in
cooling mode
Switch the appliance to fan only mode until the
frost melts
Air conditioner starts and stops frequently
• Air lter is dirty causing insuf cient air fl ow
Outside temperature is excessively hot, set
the fan speed higher to bring air through the
cooling coils more rapidly
