DIFFICULT STARTING OR
STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE
The engine may be flooded if it has not
started after 10 pulls. Rooded engines
can be cleared of excess fuel with the
foflowingprocedure:
• Pull choke lever outfully, then push it
in fullyto set engine in fast idle peel-
ton.
• Vedfy that the On/Stop switch isinthe
ON position.

not successful, repeat untilengine
starts.
Starling could require many pulls de-
pending on how badly unit is flooded. If
engine still fails to start, refer to TROU-
BLESHOOTING chad or call
1-800-235-5878.
• Begin cutting with the saw frame
against the log.
• Keep the engine at full speed the
entire time you are cutting.
• Allowthe chainto cut for you. Exert
only light_lownward pressure.
• Release'the:throttle tdgger as soon
as the cut is completed, allowingthe
engine to idle. If you run the saw at
fullthrottlewithouta cuffingload,
unnecessary wear can occur.
• To avoid losingcontrolwhen cut is
complete, do not putpressure on
saw at end of cut.
• Stop engine beforesettingsaw down.
TREE FELUNG TECHNIQUES
WARNING: Check for brokenor dead
branches whichcan fall while cutting
causingsadous injury.Do not cut near
buildingsor electdcal wires if you donot
know the directionof tree fall, nor cut at
nightsinceyou will notbe able to see
well, nor dudngbad weather such as
rain, snow, or strongwinds, etc.

• Clear the work area. You need a clear
area all around the tree so you can
have secure footing.
• Study the naturalconditionsthat can
cause the tree to fall in a padlcular
