gloves or use a heavy rag to hold blade.
1, Disconnectsparkplugwire fromsparkplug,Turn
moweron itsside makingsurethat the air filter and
the carburetorareup,
2, Removebolt,bladebensupport,blade,andblade
adapterfromthe enginecrankshaft,See Figure5,
3, The bladecan be sharpenedwitha file oron agrind=
ingwheel Do notattemptto sharpenthe bladewhile
it is stillon the mower,Whensharpeningblade,follow
originalangleof grind,Grind cuttingedgesequallyto
keepbladebalanced,
4, Removebladefromthe adapterfor testingbalance,
Balancethe bladeon a roundshaftscrewdriverto
check,Removemetalfrom the heavyside untilit
balancesevenly,
WARNING:An unbalanced bladewill
cause excessivevibration when rotating
at high speeds. It may cause damage
to mower,and could break causing
personal injury.
5, Lubricatetheenginecrankshaftandthe innersurface
of the bladeadapterwith Nghtoil Slidethe blade
adapterontotheenginecrankshaft,Placethe blade
on the adaptersuchthat theside of the blademarked
"Bottom"(or with part number)facesthe groundwhen
the moweris inthe operatingposition,Makesurethat
bladeis alignedandseatedon bladeadapterflanges,
6, Placeblade bensupporton the blade,Alignnotches
on the bladebell support with smallholesin blade,
Replacehexbolt and tightenhex boltto torque:450
in, Ibs,rain,,600 in, Ibs,max,
Toensuresafeoperationof yourmower,periodically
checkthe blade boltfor correcttorque,

1, Removetwoshoulderscrewssecuringfrontdrive
coverto mowerdeck, SeeFigure6, Pressinwardon
sidesof frontdrivecoverand releasetabsthatsecure
it to the heightadjusterbrackets,Removedrive cover
frommower,
2, PuNup on the belt keeperwireand pivotit outaway
fromthe drivepulley,See Figure6 inset,
3, Rollthe beltoff the transmissionpulley,Tip mower
on its side with the air filter up to accessbeltfrom
undersideof mower,SNdebeltoff of enginepulleyand
threadthroughthe openingin thebelt keeperbracket,
Then removethe beltfrom aroundthe bladeby remov=
ingoverone end at a time,SeeFigure7,

4, Replacewith newbelt,workingaroundbladeand
upthroughthe beltkeeperbracket,Makesure belt
is firmlyseatedon engine pulleywhile pullingfrom
the othersideandslidingit aroundthe transmis=
sionpulley,Pivotthe belt keeperwire backinto its
operatingpostionandsnapintothe slot provided,
