Whirlpool WFW86HEBW0 Questions and Answers

#1 Can this washer be used in a unheated basement?I have seen many posts about front loading washers not working in rooms under 60 degrees. This would be a problem in our unheated laundry room, the average temp is 50. I have read that the oil gets too thick under 60 degrees. Will a Whirlpool work in a room that is under 60 regularly?

Per page 3 of the Installation Instructions. Do not install, store or operate washer where it will be exposed to weather or in temperatures below 32° F (0° C). Water remaining in washer after use may cause damage in low temperatures.

#2 Can I use my current pedestals?I am replacing our 9 year old Duet pair. We have LAB2700LQO pedestals under our current 3.7 cu ft set. Will these pedestals work with this washer/dryer?

Although the older pedestals will fit the new Whirlpool front load washers (and visa versa), the older pedestals' visual design and colors will not match the newer washers. This will be quickly visible in the look of the older pedestal front not lining up aesthetically with the new washer (and visa versa).

#3 Is this machine NSF certified?I knew it has the steam/sanitize function but it's not clear to me that whether it is NSF certified.

It is not NSF Certified. This ENERGY STAR® qualified model also features a Sanitize cycle with Steam to eliminate 99.9% of common household bacteria. Bacteria tested were K. pneumonia, P. aureginosa and S. aureus.
