1. GENERAL WARNING
This manual is part of the product and should be kept near the instrument for easy and
quick reference.
The instrum ent shall not be used for purposes different from those described hereunder.
It c a n n o t b e u s e d a s a s a fe ty device.
Check the application limits before proceeding.

: To display target set point; in program m ing m ode it selects a param eter or confirm
an operation.
(DEF) To start a m anual defrost
(UP): To see the m ax. stored tem perature; in p ro g ra m m in g m o d e it b ro w s e s th e
param eter codes or increases the displayed value.
(DOWN): To see the m in stored tem perature; in program m ing m ode it b ro w s e s th e
param eter codes or decreases the displayed value.
To switch the instrum ent off, if onF = oFF.

KEY COMBINATIONS:

Check the supply voltage is correct before connecting the instrument.
Do not expose to water or moisture: use the controller only within the operating lim its
avoiding sudden tem perature changes w ith high atm ospheric hum idity to prevent
fo rm a tio n o f condensation
Warning: disconnect all electrical connections before any kind of maintenance.
Fit the probe where it is not accessible by the End User. The instrument must not be
opened.
In case of failure or faulty operation send the instrument back to the distributor or to

Consider the maximum current which can be applied to each relay (see Technical Data).
Ensure that the wires for probes, loads and the power supply are separated and fa r
enough from each other, without crossing or intertwining.

2. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Model XR30CH, fo rm a t 3 2 x 7 4 m m , is a d ig ita l th e rm o s ta t w ith o ff c y c le d e fro s t d e s ig n e d fo r
refrigeration applications at normal temperature. It provides two relay outputs, one for th e
com pressor, the other one can be used as light, for alarm signalling or as auxiliary output..
It is also provided with 2 NTC or PTC probe inputs, the first one for temperature control,
th e s e c o n d o n e , o p tio n a l, to c o n n e c t to th e H O T K E Y te rm in a ls to s ig n a l th e condenser
te m p e ra tu re a la rm o r to d is p la y a te m p e ra tu re . T h e d ig ita l in p u t c a n o p e ra te a s th ird
temperature probe.
The HO T KEY output allows to connect the unit, by m eans of the external m odule XJ485-CX,
to a n e tw o rk lin e ModBUS-RTU com patible such as the dIX E L monitoring units of X-WEB
fa m ily . It a llo w s to p ro g ra m th e c o n tro lle r b y m e a n s th e H O T K E Y p ro g ra m m in g keyboard.
The instrument is fully configurable through special parameters that can be easily
program m ed through the keyboard.

3.1 COMPRESSOR

Defrost is performed through a simple stop of the compressor. Parameter IdF controls
th e
in te rv a l b e tw e e n d e fro s t c y c le s , w h ile its le n g th is c o n tro lle d b y p a ra m e te r MdF.

will show the Set point value.

seconds to display the probe value again.
