TO START ENGINE
1. Whenstartingthe enginefor the firsttime, pushprimerfive times.
Forall futurestarts,pushthe primerthreetimes.Waitabouttwo
secondsbetweeneachpush.See Figure10.Do not primeto
restarta warmengine.
2. Standingbehindthe mower,squeezethe bladecontrolhandle
againstupperhandle.
3. Holdingthese two handlestogetherfirmly,grasprecoilstarter
handleandpull ropeslowlyuntil resistanceisfelt, then pullwitha
rapid,continuous,full arm stroke.See Figure10.Keepinga firm
griponthe starterhandle,letthe roperewindslowly.Repeatuntil
enginecranks.Letthe rope rewindeachtimeslowly.
Rapidretractionof startercord (kickback)will pullhandandarm
towardenginefasterthan youcan let go. Brokenbones,fractures,
bruisesorsprainscould result.
NOTE:If engine floods,wait a few minutesto restart,butdo not prime.
TO STOP ENGINE
1. Releasebladecontrolto stopthe engineandblade.

the moweror to removethe grasscatcher.
USING YOUR LAWN MOWER
Besure lawnis clearof stones,sticks,wire,orotherobjectswhich
coulddamagelawnmoweror engine.Suchobjectscouldbeaccidently
thrownby themowerin anydirectionandcause seriouspersonalinjury
to the operatorandothers.
Theoperationof any lawnmowercan resultinforeignobjectsbeing
thrownintothe eyes,whichcan damageyoureyes severely.Always
wearsafetyglasseswhileoperatingthe mower,or whileperforming
anyadjustmentsor repairson it.
USING AS MULCHER
For mulchinggrass,installthe mulchingbaffle as instructedin the
"Assembly"section.Foreffectivemulching,do not cutwetgrass.If the
grasshas beenallowedto growin excessof fourinches,mulchingis
not recommended.Usethe grasscatcherto bagclippingsinstead.
Ifyou strikea foreignobject,stopthe engine.Removewirefrom the
sparkplug,thoroughlyinspectmowerfor anydamage,and repair
damagebeforerestartingandoperating.Extensivevibrationof mower
duringoperationis an indicationof damage.The unit shouldbe
promptlyinspectedand repaired.
