• If you will not be using the product for an extended period of
time, remove the batteries. Otherwise they may leak inside the
product and cause irreparable damage.
• For plugging the product into the mains socket, use only the
type of adaptor included with the product.

It is not permitted to make construction changes to the product
nor to attach HF amplifiers or antennas.

The manufacturer is not responsible for damages caused by
incorrect use of this appliance or its accessories. Such damages
include food spoilage, injuries, burns, scalding, fire, etc.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Turning the scale on and o
Attention
Before turning on the appliance for the first time, open the battery cover on the underside of the scale
and remove the insulation strip that provides protection to the battery during transport.
1) This scale has a function ”Auto-on” that automatically turns on the scale. To start the scale, use your hand to push
down on the weighing platform or place the weighed item on it.
Note: We recommend starting the scale by pushing down on the weighing platform with your hand. The scale
will only start automatically when a suciently heavy item is placed on it (usually approx. 0.5 kg). If you start the
scale by placing an item on the weighing platform, the weight of 0 will be shown. This option is thus particularly
suitable when you need to place a bowl in which the ingredients will be weighed on to the scale prior to
weighing the actual ingredients.
2) Turn the scale o by pressing the ”TARE / OFF” button.
Warning
The scale turns itself off automatically approximately one minute after displaying ”0.0“ on the LCD
display or when it is idle. By turning it off after weighing using the ”TARE / OFF” button you will save
the batteries.
Switching units
While weighing you may switch between units (g -> ml -> lb:oz -> fl .oz) by pressing the ”UNIT” button.
Weighing procedure
1) Carefully place the weighed food on the plate, the scale will be automatically activated.
2) If necessary select the weight unit (g -> ml -> lb:oz -> .oz).
3) The weight will be displayed on the display in the selected units.
Additional weighing function
1) Carefully place the weighed food/item on the weighing plate, the scale will be automatically activated.
2) If necessary select the weight unit (g -> ml -> lb:oz -> .oz).
3) As soon as the scale stabilises, press the ”TARE / OFF” button. The current weight will be erased and the display
will be reset to zero.
4) Place other foods on the scale. The display will display only the weight of the newly placed foods.
5)
In this way you may continue to weigh additional foods by adding them step by step and repeating steps 4 and 5.
How to turn off the additional weighing function (TARE)
Remove all food from the scale. A negative value will be displayed on the display. Press the ”TARE / OFF” button to
reset the scale to zero.

OVERLOAD INDICATOR
If the scale is overloaded (max. capacity 5 kg), the display will show the symbol ”EEEE”. To prevent damaging the scale,
immediately remove the weighed item / food.
CHANGING THE BATTERIES
If the display shows the dead battery icon ”Lo”, it is time to change the batteries.
1) Remove the battery compartment cover located on the underside of the scale.
2) Remove the old batteries.
3) Insert three 1.5V AAA batteries into the battery compartment, while ensuring that you adhere to the correct
polarity direction as indicated in the battery compartment.
Warning
• if you will not use the scale for a long time, store it in a horizontal position. This position better
protects the sensitive sensors located in the scale footings.
•
Do not place or leave any objects on the scale that may place unnecessary stress on the sensors.
• Avoid using the scale in the vicinity of a strong magnetic field. Its effect may impact weighing
accuracy.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
To clean the outer parts of the appliance, use a soft cloth dipped in lukewarm water.
DISPOSAL OF USED BATTERIES
This product comes included with three 1.5V AAA batteries. Do not place used batteries into regular household waste.
Instead, use the appropriate waste collection and recycling centres.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the scale is displaying random values or if it is not turning off automatically, you need to restart it. In such cases,
remove the batteries for about 10 seconds and place them back again. The scale should work normally again.
