Cut off electrical power to the dishwasher:
Removefusesor trip circuit breaker:
Turn off the water supp!g and disconnect the
water in et inefrom the water vare.
Drain water from the inlet lineand water
vare. Usea pan to catch the water:
Reconnectthe water inlet line to the
' water valve.
Removethe plastic sump cover in the tub
bottom and usea sponge to soak up water
in the rubber boot.

water backing up into it if a drain clogs.

Theair gap is easy to clean.
Turn off the dishwasher and lift off the
chrome cover:
Unscrew the plastic cap and clean with
a toothpick
