thecoffeemaker,thenplugit backin again.If thebrewtimer
displayremainsdark,checkthefuseor circuitbreakeronthe
electricalcircuitthecoffeemakerisconnectedto andmake
certainthecircuitisclosed.
_ If "El" or "E2" appearson the brewtimer display:
Thecoffeemakerneedsto bedescaled.Unplugthecoffee
makerfor 30secondsto resetthedisplay,thenplugit backin
again.See"Descaling"on page29.If errorcodescontinueto
appearaftercleaning,seetheKitchenAidwarrantyandservice
sectionon page34.
_ If "E3" appearson the brewtimer display:
_ If it requires more than 10 minutes to brew 12 cups of coffee:
The coffee maker needs to be descaled. See "Descaling" on

A button or switch is jammed. Unplug the coffee maker, press
or turn each switch and button several times, then plug the
coffee maker back in. (If the coffee maker has been stored or
used in a cool environment, warm the unit to normal room
temperature before doing this.) If "E3" appears again on the
display, repeat this procedure.
