without touching it, then gently press to power on the
digital wrench.
Usually press to reset the digital torque wrench before using it.
After power on, auto zero-reset will be processed.
In torque mode, a presetting torque will show on LCD.
In angle mode, the LCD will flash first
(zero-reset) and then a target angle screen will show.
Please contact your local dealer for troubleshooting.
ATTENTION:
1. Over-torque (110% of Max. torque range) could cause breakage
or loss of accuracy.
2.Do not shake violently or drop wrench.
3.Do not use this wrench as a hammer.
4.Do not leave this wrench in any place exposed to excessive heat,
humidity, or direct sunlight.
5.Do not use this apparatus in water. (it is not waterproof)

apply load to the end of the handle.
CAUTION:
BATTERY MAINTENANCE
__________________
1.When the wrench is not going to be used for an extended period
of time, remove the batteries.
2.Keep a spare battery on hand when going on a long trip or to
cold areas.
3.Do not mix battery types or combine used batteries with
new ones.
4.Sweat, oil and water can prevent a battery’s terminal from
making electrical contact. To avoid this, wipe both terminals
before loading a battery.
5.Dispose of batteries in a designated disposal area. Do not throw
batteries into a fire.
ATTENTION:
If an external force is applied to the torque wrench during
power-on/reset or wake up period, an initial torque offset will exist
in the memory.
AUTO POWER OFF
The wrench will auto power off after 2 minutes idle for power
saving. Press to power on the wrench again.
RESETTING THE WRENCH
If the wrench does not function normally or
appears, remove battery and power on to reset
the wrench again.

Craftsman CMMT99436 Questions and Answers

#1 Does this torque wrench need to be calibrated every year or every 5,000 cycles, whichever comes first, like a click type torque wrench?

All torque wrenches should have periodic accuracy checks & recalibration as required. This should be done at least once a year or every 5000 torque application cycles, whichever comes first. Recalibration is also recommended after any abnormal handling.

#2 Will it beep when targets hit?

Buzzer and LED indicator for pre-settable target torque or angle.

#3 What is the torque range?

The CMMT99436 has a torque range of 50 ft-lb to 250 ft-lb.

#4 The product information says 50 - 250 ft lbs but the digital readout allows me to set it as low as 12.5 ft lbs. Is it accurate to that 12.5 ft lbs?

Torque wrenches are typically certified at 20%, 60%, and 100% of full scale, since 20% of 250 is 50, anything below 50 ft/lb would not be certified. And at that point you're getting into in/lb instead of ft/lb anyway so just get a different wrench with a range where 12.5 is within 20%-100% of the range.

#5 Does this have a rechargeable battery?

No. This units uses 2 AA batteries.

#6 Can you torque fasteners in both directions?

Yes, the CMMT99436 can torque both directions.

#7 Does it still have a click stop as well?

No, that is without click stop. The torque wrench has buzz and LED lights up when the torque value close or reach

#8 Where is the battery location?

The battery/batteries go in the handle. The end of the handle has a battery cap.

#9 How do you switch from ft lbs to inch pounds?

Press the Unit Selection (U/S) button until you reach the desired
