1. Placethefuelvalveleverfoundontheleft sideofthe
engineintotheON(OPEN)position.See Figure4-3.
2. Movethechokelever(ifequipped)all theway
backwardintothechokeposition.

againstupperhandle.SeeFigure4-3.Thechokewill
nowbegintoslowlyreturntotheoffchokeposition
afteractivatingthebladecontrol.Therefore,quickly
moveontostepfourbelow.

object, stop the engine. Remove
wire from thespark plug,thoroughly
inspectmowerfor anydamage,and
repairdamagebefore restarting andoperating.
Extensive vibration of mowerduring operation isan
indicationof damage.The unit should be promptly
inspectedand repaired.
Using as Mulcher
Formulchinggrass,removethegrasscatcherandside
dischargechutefromthemower.Foreffectivemulching,
do notcutwetgrass.If thegrasshasbeenallowedto
growin excessof fourinches,mulchingisnotrecom-
mended.Usethegrasscatchertobagclippingsinstead.
Using Your Lawn Mower Using Grass Catcher
Besurelawnisclearof stones,sticks,wire,or other Youcanusethegrasscatchertocollectclippingswhile
objectswhichcoulddamagelawnmowerorengine, youareoperatingthemower.Refertosetupsectionfor
Suchobjectscouldbe accidentlythrownbythemowerin instructionson attachingthegrasscatcher.
