12. LED INDICATORS
POWER ON (red) LED lit: The charger is plugged in and receiving AC power.
CHARGING (yellow) LED lit: The charger is charging the battery.
CHARGED (green) LED lit: The battery is fully charged and the charger is in maintain mode.
NOTE: See Operating Instructions for a complete description of the charger modes.
13. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: A SPARK NEAR THE BATTERY MAY CAUSE AN EXPLOSION.
CHARGING A BATTERY IN THE VEHICLE
1. Turn off all the vehicle’s accessories.
2. Keep the hood open.
3. Clean the battery terminals.
4. Lay the AC/DC cables away from any fan blades, belts, pulleys and other moving parts that can cause injury.
5. Connect one of the three optional output cables to the charger output connector.
6. Connect the battery, following the precautions listed in sections 6 and 7.
7. Connect the charger to an electrical outlet.
8. The Power On (red) LED will light to show that AC power is present. The green and yellow LED will then blink once as a self-test to make sure that the LED is operating properly.
9. After three seconds, the Charging (yellow) LED will light to show that charging has begun. If none of the LEDs light, or if the Charging (yellow) LED does not light, refer
to the troubleshooting section. Charge time may vary from less than one hour to 12 hours.
10. When charging is complete, the Charged (green) LED will light and the charger will automatically go into maintain mode. The charger can now be unplugged from the
AC outlet.
11. When disconnecting the charger, disconnect the charger from the AC power, remove the clamp from the vehicle chassis, and then remove the clamp from the battery terminal.
NOTE: If the battery has not reached at least 18-volts after ve minutes of charging or at least 24-volts after four hours of charging, the charger will abort the charging
process and turn the yellow LED off.
CHARGING A BATTERY OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE
1. Place battery in a well-ventilated area.
2. Clean the battery terminals.
3. Connect one of the three optional output cables to the charger output connector.
4. Connect the battery, following the precautions listed in sections 6 and 7.
5. Connect the charger to the electrical outlet.
6. The Power On (red) LED will light to show that AC power is present. The green and yellow LED will then blink once as a self-test to make sure that the LED is operating properly.

10. A marine (boat) battery must be removed and charged on shore.
AUTOMATIC CHARGING MODE
When an Automatic Charge is performed, the charger switches to the maintain mode automatically after the battery is charged.
ABORTED CHARGE
If charging cannot be completed normally, charging will abort. When charging aborts, the charger’s output is shut off and the yellow Charging and green Charged LEDs will turn off.
Do not continue attempting to charge this battery. Have it checked or replaced.
