WELCOME
Congratulations! You have made a wise choice for quality heat. The Original
SUNHEAT is the safest and most effective infrared zone heater available.
The Original SUNHEAT will provide safe, soft, comfortable heat for many
years to come. The Infrared Quartz Heating Tubes produce no fumes or
deadly monoxides. The ambient room air processed through The Original
SUNHEAT passes through a lifetime washable filter it is truly clean
healthy heat!
The Original SUNHEAT does not dry out or remove the oxygen from the air.
Instead it uses the moisture in the air to transfer soft infrared warmth to you
and everything in the room. The entire zone is evenly filled, from floor to
ceiling and wall to wall, with comfortable even heat.
OPERATION
Plug the power cord into any unused grounded 120 volt 15 amp or higher
circuit receptacle.
Turn the thermostat on the back to its highest setting.
Then flip the power switch (O/I) on the front of the unit up to the “I” or
ON position. The switch should turn red.
In less than a minute the infrared heat tubes will start to warm up.
Soon the fan will kick on and begin delivering safe, soft, comfortable heat
out of the front grill.
Once the zone you are heating reaches a comfortable temperature, slowly
turn the thermostat back until you hear a click. This will set your comfort
level.
The thermostat will maintain this desired comfort setting by cycling ON
and OFF as needed.
If you do not need the SUNHEAT to run, turn the (O/I) power switch down
to the “O” or OFF position.
The fan will continue to run until the heater cools down and the “Free Heat”
has been exhausted from the heater.
The SUNHEAT is equipped with an internal high limit switch that cuts off
power to the infrared heat tubes if air to the unit is blocked. To restore
power to the heat tubes, turn the thermostat down , flip the power switch to
the OFF or “O” position, remove power cord from wall outlet and allow
approximately 30 seconds before plugging power cord back into the wall
outlet.
For safety and to prevent the high limit switch from cutting power to the
heat tubes, keep the area around the heater clear of clutter and obstacles
to insure free airflow into and out from the heater.

FREE HEAT
Your SUNHEAT infrared zone heating system is a truly effective way to sup-
plementally heat areas of your home. The industrial grade infrared tubes
transfer their heat waves to the cured copper canisters within the unit.
Because of this process, it may take a couple of minutes for it to become
necessary for the fan to kick on and begin to provide safe, soft, comfortable
warmth. The infrared heat stored in the copper is transferred to people and
objects in the room in a remarkably even manner. This transitive heating
system also provides 7 to 10 minutes of “Free Heat” once the tubes shut off.
This is why the fan continues to run after the unit is turned off.
PLACEMENT SUGGESTIONS
To assure maximum performance of your Original SUNHEAT Electronic
Infrared Portable Zone Heater, please note the following recommendations.
1) Place the SUNHEAT near the center of the home next to a warmer inside
wall with the heat being blown toward the colder outside walls of the
home. This will allow the thermostat to more accurately moderate the
temperature.
2) For best results, do not locate the SUNHEAT Heater in an area with a
high rate of air flow.
3) For maximum efficiency, a 40% (minimum) relative humidity should be
maintained in the heated environment.
4) The SUNHEAT Quartz Infrared Portable Heater is designed to operate at
maximum efficiency up to the 70-72˚F range. Due to this unique heat
concept, a temperature of 68˚F feels as though it were 72˚F. Similar to a
summer heat index, the moisture in the air holds the heat and transfers it
evenly throughout the entire area.
5. For efficiency, the Original SUNHEAT is not recommended for use in
areas with exposed, non-insulated, concrete, or metal walls. You can use
the SUNHEAT in any room, whether insulated or not. However, a non-
insulated room will allow for greater heat loss that will impact the effec-
tiveness of the heater.
