SAFEGUARDS
When using an electrical appliance, basic
safety precautions should always followed,
including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. Unplug from outlet when not in use and
before cleaning. Allow to cool before
putting on or taking off parts, and before
cleaning appliance.
3. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handle or
lid lever.
4. To protect against fire, electric shock and
injury to persons, DO NOT IMMERSE
CORD, PLUG, KETTLE BODY OR BASE
UNIT in water or other liquids.
5. Close supervision is necessary when any

damaged cord or plug, or after the
appliance has malfunctioned or has
been damaged in any manner. Return
appliance to the nearest Cuisinart
Authorized Service Facility for examination,
repair or adjustment.

recommended by Cuisinart may result in
fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let power cord hang over edge of
table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or
electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11. Always put kettle on base, then plug cord
into wall outlet. To disconnect, push button
to OFF, then remove plug from wall outlet.
CAUTION: Do not operate your appliance
in an appliance garage or under a wall
cabinet. When storing any appliance in
an appliance garage, always unplug the
unit from the electrical outlet. Be sure the
appliance does not touch the interior wall
of the appliance garage, and the door does
not touch the unit as it closes. Contact
could cause the unit to turn on, creating
a risk of fire.
12. Do not use appliance for other than its
intended use.
13. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed
during the brewing cycle.
14. Lock lid securely onto kettle before serving
any beverages.
15. The kettle is designed for use only with
the power base provided. It must never
be used on a range top.
16. This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for
their safety.
17. Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
Avoid spillage on the connector. The
heating element surface is subject to
residual heat after use. If the kettle is
overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
The appliance is only to be used with
the stand provided.
18. Do not use a cracked/broken container or
a container having a loosed or weakened
handle.

If a long extension
cord is used, the
marked electrical
rating of the extension
cord must be at
least as great as the
electrical rating of
the appliance. The
extension cord should
be a grounding-type,
3-wire cord, and the
longer cord should be arranged so that it will
not drape over the countertop or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or
tripped over.
For your protection, this unit is equipped with
a 3-conductor cord set that has a molded
3-prong, grounding-type plug, and should
be used in combination with a properly
connected grounding-type outlet as shown in
Figure A.
If a grounding-type outlet is not available, an
adapter, shown in Figure B, may be obtained
so that a 2-slot wall outlet can be used with
a 3-prong plug. As shown in Figure C, the
adapter must be grounded by attaching its
grounding lug under the screw of the outlet
cover plate.
NOTE: Do not remove the grounding
prong.
CAUTION: Before using an adapter, it must
be determined that the outlet cover plate
screw is properly grounded. If in doubt,
consult a licensed electrician. Never
use an adapter unless you are sure it is
properly grounded.
NOTE: Use of an adapter is not permitted
in Canada.

UNPACKING
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place the box on a large, sturdy, flat
surface.
2. Remove the instruction book and any
other literature.
3. Lift the power base from the box and
remove the polybag.
4. Remove the upper pulp molded insert.
5. Lift the kettle from the box and remove
the polybag.
We suggest you save all packing materials in
the event that future shipping of the machine
is needed. Keep all plastic bags away from
children.

you read the following information carefully to
familiarize yourself with the kettle’s use and
care.

BEFORE USING FOR
THE FIRST TIME
Before using your Cuisinart
®
ViewPro™ 1.7
L Cordless Electric Kettle
for the first time,
we recommend RINSING THE KETTLE
WITH THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF FRESH
WATER IT ALLOWS. BOIL FRESH WATER
INSIDE THE KETTLE TWO TO THREE
TIMES AND DISCARD THE BOILED WATER
BEFORE NORMAL USE.
OPERATION
1. Put the appliance on a
heat-resistant flat surface.
2. Lift the lid lever upward to open the lid.
3. Fill the kettle with the desired quantity of
cold water between the Min. and Max.
levels.
4. The kettle is equipped with a borosilicate
glass body. It is important to avoid
thermal shocks. Do not use iced water,
especially if your glass kettle is still warm.
5. Close the lid until it locks.
6. Ensure the cable has been connected and
the ON/OFF switch is at the OFF position.
7. Press the ON/OFF switch to the ON
position. The power indicator will then be
illuminated.

8. Water temperature will continue to rise
until boiling occurs. The switch will then
automatically go into the OFF position.
9. If the water has cooled and you need
boiling water again, simply switch the
kettle on.
HELPFUL HINTS
• Always use fresh water in the kettle.
• If the kettle is accidentally switched on
without a sufficient amount of water, a
boil-dry safety mechanism will
automatically switch the kettle off.
• The lid should always be securely in place
while heating water.
CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE
• The kettle should always be emptied
before cleaning and storage.
• It is extremely important to remember
that cleaning of the kettle can only be
performed when the plug has been
removed from the power supply.
• Cleaning should be performed only when
the kettle has cooled down.
• Always ensure the electrical connections
of the kettle remain absolutely dry.
• Ensure the outside and the electrical
connections of the kettle are completely
dry before using.
• Wipe the kettle and base with a soft,
damp cloth. Do not use cleaning
products that can cause health hazard or
discoloration of the kettle.
• Do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring
agents of any kind on the interior or
exterior of the kettle.
• Never immerse any part of the kettle,
especially the cable and base, into
water.
To install filter and remove it for cleaning,
follow instructions below:

Filter can be cleaned with warm soapy water
or placed in dishwasher, top rack only.
MAINTENANCE: Any other servicing should
be performed by an authorized service
representative.
DECALCIFICATION
Decalcification refers to removing mineral
deposits, which may form in the interior of
the kettle and may result in discoloration.
To get the best performance from your
kettle, decalcify your unit from time to time.
Frequency will depend on the hardness of
your tap water and how often you use your
kettle.
We suggest using a kettle descaler in order
to dissolve these deposits or scale. Follow
the directions on the descaler package.
If a commercial descaler is not available,
fill the kettle with enough white vinegar
to cover the bottom by about ½ inch
(1.25 cm). Heat the vinegar to a boil. Repeat
this with cooled vinegar until all deposits
are removed. When the descaling process
is complete, empty the kettle and rinse out
several times with clean water.

resellers. We warrant that your Cuisinart

TM
1.7 L Cordless Electric Kettle will be free
of defects in materials and workmanship under
normal home use for 3 years from the date of
original purchase. We recommend that you visit our
website, https://cuisinart.registria.com, for a fast,
efficient way to complete your product registration.
However, product registration does not eliminate
the need for the consumer to maintain the original
proof of purchase in order to obtain the warranty
benefits. In the event that you do not have proof of
purchase date, the purchase date for purposes of
this warranty will be the date of manufacture.
CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY
California law provides that for In-Warranty Service,
California residents have the option of returning a
nonconforming product (A) to the store where it
was purchased or (B) to another retail store that
sells Cuisinart products of the same type. The
retail store shall then, according to its preference,
either repair the product, refer the consumer to an

adaptador para conectar el aparato a una
toma de corriente sin toma de tierra (Fig.
B). El adaptador debe ser puesto a tierra
mediante un tornillo de metal que conecte la
lengüeta del adaptador a la placa de la toma
de corriente (Fig. C).
NOTA: No quite la pata de tierra.

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO
1. Coloque el aparato sobre una superficie
plana resistente al calor.
2. Levante la lengüeta de la tapa para abrir
esta.
3. Llene la jarra con la cantidad deseada de
agua fresca, entre el nivel “MIN” y “MAX”.
4. La jarra es hecha de vidrio borosilicato,
por lo que es importante evitar los
choques térmicos. No use agua helada,
especialmente si hervidor aún está
caliente.
5. Cierra la tapa, presionando hasta que se
bloquee.
6. Compruebe que el cable está enchufado
y que el botón de encendido/apagado
está en la posición de apagado “OFF”.

de encendido/apagado en la posición de
encendido “ON”; el indicador luminoso se
encenderá.

agua hasta que hierva. Luego, se apagará
automáticamente.
9. Si el agua se enfría antes de que la use,
simplemente vuelva a presionar el botón
de encendido/apagado para calentarla
otra vez.
CONSEJOS ÚTILES
• Siempre use agua fresca.
• Si la cantidad de agua en el hervidor es
insuficiente, un dispositivo de seguridad
contra hervido en seco apagará el aparato

• No use materiales ni productos abrasivos
para limpiar el interior o el exterior del
hervidor.
• Nunca sumerja ninguna parte del
hervidor, especialmente el cable y la
base, en agua u otro líquido.
Para instalar el filtro o retirarlo para limpiarlo,
siga los pasos siguientes:

MANTENIMIENTO: Cualquier otro servicio

Lave el filtro puede en agua jabonosa tibia o
en el lavavajillas (bandeja superior solamente).
DESCALCIFICACIÓN
Depósitos de calcio/sarro pueden
acumularse en el hervidor, causando
decoloración.
Para lograr un rendimiento óptimo, deberá
descalcificar el aparato regularmente. La
frecuencia de la limpieza dependerá de la
dureza del agua y de la frecuencia de uso
del aparato.
Se recomienda usar un descalcificador de
hervidor/cafetera para eliminar los depósitos

que fue comprado
en una tienda para uso personal, familiar o casero.
A menos que la ley aplicable exija lo contrario,
esta garantía no es para los minoristas u otros
consumidores/compradores comerciales. Cuisinart
garantiza este producto contra todo defecto de
materiales o fabricación durante 3 años después
de la fecha de compra original, siempre que el
aparato haya sido usado para uso doméstico y
según las instrucciones. Se recomienda llenar
el formulario de registro disponible en https://
cuisinart.registria.com a fin de facilitar la
verificación de la fecha de compra original de este
producto. Sin embargo, no es necesario registrar

RESIDENTES DE CALIFORNIA

no es válida en caso de daños causados por mal
