I. GENERAL OPERATION
• Read,understand,andfollowall
instructionsonthe machineandin the
manualbeforestarting.
• Donotputhandsor feetnearrotating
partsor underthemachine.Keepclear
ofthedischargeopeningat all times.
• Onlyallow responsibleadults,who are
familiarwiththe instructions,tooperate
themachine.
• Cleartheareaof objectssuch as
rocks,toys,wire, etc., whichcouldbe
pickedupandthrownbythe blades.
• Besurethe areais clearof bystand-
ersbeforeoperating. Stopmachineif
anyoneentersthe area.
• Nevercarrypassengers.
• Donot mowin reverseunlessabso-
lutelynecessary.Alwayslookdown
andbehindbeforeandwhile backing.
• Neverdirectdischargedmaterial
towardanyone.Avoiddischarging
materialagainstawallorobstruction.
Materialmayricochetbacktowardthe
operator.Stopthebladeswhencross-
inggravelsurfaces.
• Donotoperatemachinewithoutthe
entiregrasscatcher,dischargeguard,
orother safetydevicesin placeand
working.
• Slowdown beforeturning.
• Neverleavea runningmachine
unattended. Alwaysturnoff blades,
set parkingbrake,stopengine,and

Shutoff engineandwaitfor all partsto

catcher,or uncloggingthedischarge
guard.

underthe influenceof alcoholor drugs.
• Watchfortrafficwhenoperatingnear
or crossingroadways.
• Useextracarewhenloadingor unload-
ingthe machineintoa traileror truck.
• Alwaysweareyeprotectionwhenoper-
atingmachine.
• Dataindicatesthat operators,age60
yearsandabove,are involvedin a
largepercentageof ridingmower-re-
latedinjuries. Theseoperatorsshould
evaluatetheirabilityto operatethe
ridingmowersafelyenoughto protect
themselvesandothersfrom serious
injury.
• Followthemanufacturer'srecommen-
dationforwheelweightsorcounter-
weights.
• Keepmachinefreeof grass, leavesor
otherdebrisbuild-upwhich cantouch
hotexhaust/ engine parts and burn.
Do not allow the mower deck to plow
leaves or other debris which can cause
build-up to occur. Clean any oil or fuel
spillage before operating or storing the
machine. Allow machine to cool before
storage.
