Tornillos terminales Pressure-Lock™ para utilizar
únicamente en circuitos derivados de 15
amperios con conductores sencillos de cobre
AWG No. 14. No utilizar en circuitos derivados
20A. Tornillos terminales para utilizar con cable
de cobre AWG No. 12 ó 14.
1) Corte la energía del circuito en la caja de
fusibles o en el cortacircuitos.
Retire la chapa de la pared y
haga una prueba para
asegurarse de que la
energía ha sido completamente
desconectada.
2) Retire el interruptor
viejo de la caja de la
pared y desconecte
los cables.
3) Para los tornillos
terminales, retire 3/4” de
aislamiento de los extremos de
los cables. Vuelva aconectar los
alambres a losterminales
CALIENTES del en elnuevo
interruptor, enrollando el cable
3/4 alrededor del tornillo en el
sentido de las
manecillas del reloj,
como se muestra en
la figura. Para los
tornillos terminales de
presión, retire 1/2” de
aislamiento e inserte en los
tornillos terminales de presión.
NOTA: Para soltar los cables de
presión, inserte el destornillador en la ranura de
liberación y hale el cable mientras le aplica al
destornillador una presión hacia abajo.
4) Conecte el cable VERDE o SIN FORRO (“POLO
A TIERRA”) al tornillo VERDE en el soporte del
interruptor.
5) Apriete bien todos los tornillos terminales a
14 pulgadas–libras. Instale el interruptor en la
caja de la pared. Vuelva a colocar la chapa de
pared. Vuelva a poner la energía.

single pole switches with
Pressure-Lock™ (push-in) &
screw terminals.
Pressure-Lock™ terminals for use on 15 Amp
branch circuits with No. 14 AWG solid copper
conductors only. Do not use on 20A branch
circuit. Screw terminals for use with No. 12
or 14 AWG copper wire.
1) Shut off power to the circuit at fuse box or
circuit breaker.
Remove wallplate
and test to be sure
power has been
completely disconnected.
2) Remove old switch
from wall box and
disconnect wires.
3) For screw terminals,
strip off 3/4 " of insulation
from the ends of the wires.
Reconnect wires to HOT
terminals on new switch,
forming wire clockwise 3/4
around screw as shown.
For push-in terminals,
strip off 1/2" of insulation
and insert into the push-in
terminals.
NOTE: To release push-in
wires, insert screwdriver into
release slot and pull out wire
while applying downward
pressure to screwdriver.
4) Connect GREEN or BARE ("GROUNDING")
wire to GREEN screw on switch bracket.
5) Tighten all screw terminals securely to
14 in-lbs. Install switch in wall box.
Replace wallplate. Restore power.
