Frigidaire FFHT1621TS1 Questions and Answers

#1 How often should I change my water filter?

In general, you should change your water filter every six months to ensure the highest possible water quality.

On most models, the Water Filter Status on your display will illuminate and prompt you when it’s time to replace the filter. If your refrigerator has not been used for a period of time (during moving for example), it is recommended to change the filter before reinstalling the refrigerator.

To order replacement filters, simply go to our Filter & Parts page. Remember to order the same filter type that is currently in your refrigerator.

#2 What should I do if my ice maker is not making enough ice in my refrigerator?

The ice maker should produce 2 to 3 pounds of ice per 24 hours, depending on usage.
The ice bin should hold about 4 pounds of ice. If this is not happening, the water filter may be clogged or overdue for replacement.
If water is dispensing slowly or not at all, or your water filter is older than 6 months, it’s time to replace.
If the water supply line is not kinked, this sometimes can happen if the refrigerator is pushed too far against the wall.
Heavy traffic, opening or closing the refrigerator doors excessively can slow down ice production.
Some models are equipped with Quick Freeze feature – just press Quick Freeze on your display to temporarily increase the ice production rate.
If your refrigerator is not properly making ice, the freezer temperature could be set too warm. Set the freezer control to a colder setting to improve ice production. Allow 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize.

#3 What should I do if my Top-Freezer refrigerator is too cold or too warm in the refrigerator or freezer?

If the freezer is too cold but refrigerator is fine, set the freezer control to a warmer setting.
If the refrigerator is too cold but the freezer temperature is fine, set the refrigerator to a warmer setting. Note: Adjusting the refrigerator control changes temperatures in both the refrigerator and the freezer.
If the freezer is too warm but the refrigerator is fine, set the freezer control to a colder setting.
If the refrigerator is too warm but the freezer is fine, set the refrigerator control to a colder setting. Adjusting the refrigerator control changes temperatures in both the refrigerator and the freezer. Allow 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize after making any adjustments. To maintain temperatures, a fan circulates air in the refrigerator and freezer and therefore, it is important not to block air vents with food items. This could disrupt the air flow and cause temperature issues. For some models: Adjusting the refrigerator temperature control “0” turns off the compressor and prevents the refrigerator from cooling but does not disconnect the power to the light and electronics. To completely turn off your refrigerator, you must unplug it. If you have any questions, please contact us.
