TO PLAY ONLY DESIRED TRACKS/DISCS
Direct Program:
During normal playbackor Magazine Hi-Lite Scanplayback,
the track being playedcan be programmed.
1. Pressthe PROGRAM button to enterthe program
mode.
2. To search for a desired track during normal play
back, it ispossible to skip to succeeding tracks by
pressing the I<P<<1< or _ _ button.
Also, MagazineHi-Lite Scanfunction canbe usedto move
from track to track through the disc.
3. Ifyou wish to program thetrack currentlyplaying,
press the PROGRAM button while the track is
playing.
Direct programming is not possible during program
playback.
To check the program contents
(PD-M423 only):
During program mode, set the player to stop mode and press
the CHECK button on the remote control unit. The program
contents will be displayed in the programmed order.
After confirming the last program step, the display will
show "0-00".
l PROGRAMMING A PAUSE (PD-M423 only)
Inserting a pause in your program can be very useful when
carrying out recording. Press the II button on the remote
control unit instead of entering atrack number. "PA" appears
on the display panel.
For example, when recording on both sides of a cassette
tape, if you program a pause after the last track to be
recorded on the first side, program playback will pause at
that point to allow you to switch tape sides. To resume
program playback after the player enters pause mode,
press the II button on the remote control unit or I_/11button
on the front panel.
NOTE:
A pause can be programmed only when the program
procedure is performed under stop mode.
A pause cannot be programmed at the beginning of a
program (P-01), nor can two pauses be programmed one
after the other
A pause inserted in a program is counted as one step.
Ifa pause is programmedas the last step of aprogram, the
player will not enter the pause mode.
To erase a program (PD-M423 only):
During program mode, press the CLEAR button on the remote
control unit.
The last program step is erased and the contents of the
previous program step are displayed.
NOTE:
Contents of a program can be erased during playback as well.
However tracks preceding the currently playing track cannot
be erased in this way.
To clear all of the program contents:
A. During stop mode, press the button.
B. When the magazine is ejected, the program contents will
be cleared.
To modify the program contents
(PD-M423 only):
1. During program mode, set the player to stop
mode and press the CHECK button on the remote
control unit so that the program step to be
corrected appears on the display.
2. Enter the new disc number with the DISC NO.
buttons and then press the I_< _1_ or mH_
button so that the new track No. appears on the
display.
3. Press the PROGRAM button.
Repeat steps 1 through 3 to changeother tracks as
desired.
If the I<1<_ or _ _1 button is not pressed within
2 seconds when correctingthe track No.,the displayed
track No. is automatically memorized.
