ASSEMBLY AND HOOK-UP INFORMATION

1. HeatermodelMH15TandMH30Tarepackagedcom-

plete.Propanecylinders(tanks)arenotincludedwith

heatermodel.

2. Removeheaterfromcarton.

3. UseonlyvaporwithdrawalLPgascylindersconstructed

forusewithpropaneonly(HD-5)andmarkedin

accordancewiththespecificationsforLPgascylindersof

theU.S.DepartmentofTransportation(DOTSPEC.39).

4. Thisheatermustbeusedonlywithavaporwithdrawal

LPgasbulktankequippedwithastandardPOLvalve

–donotusethisheateronbulktanksgreaterthan20

poundsLPGcapacity(50poundswatercapacity).

5a. MH30T Dual Burner Model (see Figure 1.)

• Thetankcollarbracketmustbeassembledbefore

theheatercanbeattachedtothepropanetank.

• Removescrewsfrommanifoldcenterplateand

retainforlateruse.

• Alignboltholesintankcollarbracketwithbolt

holesincenterplateonmanifoldsuchthatthe

heaterisfacingoutwardonceattachedtocylinder

collar.

• Attachedwithscrewsremovedabove,tomanifold

centerplate.

• Placeheaterontotankwithtankcollarbracket

overtankcollar.Mountingboltknobshouldbe

positionedtotheoutsideoftankcollar.

• Firmlysecuretotankbyhand-tighteningmounting

boltknob.Donotovertighten.

• Makesureheaterregulatorisinthe“OFF”position.

• Insertregulator’sconnectorintotank’svalveand

turnleft(counter- clockwise)withhandasmuch

aspossible.Donotovertighten.

FUEL GAS ODOR

LP gas and natural gas have man-made odorants added

specifically for detection of fuel gas leaks.

If a gas leak occurs you should be able to smell the fuel

gas. Since Propane (LP) is heavier than air you should smell

for the gas odor low to the floor. ANY GAS ODOR IS YOUR

SIGNAL TO GO INTO IMMEDIATE ACTION!

 •Donottakeanyactionthatcouldignitethefuelgas.Donot

operateanyelectricalswitches.Donotpullanypowersupply

orextensioncords.Donotlightmatchesoranyothersource

offlame.Donotuseyourtelephone.

 •Geteveryoneoutofthebuildingandawayfromthearea

immediately.

 •Closeallpropane(LP)gastankorcylinderfuelsupplyvalves,

orthemainfuelsupplyvalvelocatedatthemeterifyouuse

naturalgas.

 •Propane(LP)gasisheavierthanairandmaysettleinlow

areas.Whenyouhavereasontosuspectapropaneleak,keep

outofalllowareas.

 •Useyourneighbor’sphoneandcallyourfuelgassupplierand

yourfiredepartment.Donotre-enterthebuildingorarea.

 •Stayoutofthebuildingandawayfromtheareauntildeclared

safebythefirefightersandyourfuelgassupplier.

naturalgas.Youmustdetermineifyoucansmelltheodorant

inthesefuelgases.

 •Learntorecognizetheodorofpropane(LP)gasandnatural

gas.Localpropane(LP)gasdealerswillbemorethanhappy

togiveyouascratchandsniffpamphlet.Useittobecome

familiarwiththefuelgasodor.

 •Smokingcandecreaseyourabilitytosmell.Beingaround

anodorforaperiodoftimecanaffectyoursensitivityto

thatparticularodor.Odorspresentinanimalconfinement

buildingscanmaskfuelgasodor.

•The odorant in propane (LP) gas and natural gas is

colorless and the intensity of its odor can fade under

some circumstances.

 •Ifthereisanundergroundleak,themovementofgasthrough

thesoilcanfiltertheodorant.

 •Propane(LP)gasodormaydifferinintensityatdifferent

levels.SincePropane(LP)gasisheavierthanair,theremaybe

moreodoratlowerlevels.

• Always be sensitive to the slightest gas odor. Ifyou

continuetodetectanygasodor,nomatterhowsmall,treat

itasaseriousleak.Immediatelygointoactionasdiscussed

previously.

propane(LP)gasandnaturalgas.

 •Ifyouhavenotbeenproperlytrainedinrepairandserviceof

propane(LP)gasthendonotattempttolightheater,perform

serviceorrepairs,ormakeanyadjustmentstotheheateron

thepropane(LP)gasfuelsystem.

 •Aperiodicsnifftestaroundtheheaterorattheheater’s

joints;i.e.hose,connections,etc.,isagoodsafetypractice

underanyconditions.Ifyousmellevenasmallamountof

2. Retireelcalentadordelacaja.

3. UseúnicamentecilindrosdegasLPderecuperación

devaporconstruidosparapropanosolamente(HD-5)

ymarcadosdeacuerdoconlasespecificacionesdel

DepartamentodeTransporteEstadounidensepara

cilindrosdegasLP(DOTSPEC.39).

4. Elcalentadorsólosedebeutilizarconuntanquedegas

licuadoconextraccióndevapor,equipadoconunaválvula

POLestándar.Noutiliceelcalentadorentanquesque

tenganunacapacidadsuperiora20librasdegaslicuado

(50librasdecapacidadparaagua).

deaguaatodaslasjuntas.Siseformanburbujas,hayfugas

enlaconexión.Reparetodaslasfugasantesdecontinuar.

9. Elcalentadordebeserinspeccionadocadavezqueseuse,

unavezalaño.

10.Antesdeusarelcalentador,sedebeinspeccionar

visualmenteelensambledelamanguera.Siseadvierte

abrasiónodesgasteenexceso,osilamangueraestá

cortada,debeserreemplazadaantesdeponeren

funcionamientoelcalentador.Elensambledelamanguera

debeserreemplazadoporelrepuestoMr.Heaterque

figuraenlalistadepiezas.

laintoxicaciónpormonóxidodecarbonopuedenincluir

OLOR DEL GAS COMBUSTIBLE

El gas licuado y el gas natural poseen odorizantes artificiales

agregados específicamente para la detección de fugas de

gas combustible.

Si se produce una fuga de gas, podrá oler el gas

combustible. Dado que el propano (licuado) es más pesado

que el aire, debe detectar el olor a gas cerca del nivel del

suelo. CUALQUIER OLOR A GAS QUE DETECTE LE INDICA

QUE DEBE TOMAR MEDIDAS INMEDIATAS.

 •Norealiceningunaactividadquepudieraencenderelgas

combustible.Noaccioneinterruptoreseléctricosdeningún

tipo.Nojaledeningúncabledesuministrodeenergíanide

extensión.Noenciendafósforosniningúnotrotipodellama.

Nousesuteléfono.

 •Retireatodosdeledificioylejosdeláreadeinmediato.

 •Cierretodaslasválvulasdesuministrodegasatanqueso

cilindrosdegaslicuadopropano,olaválvulaprincipalde

suministrodegasubicadaenelcontadorsiutilizagasnatural.

 •Elgaslicuadopropanoesmásdensoqueelaireypuede

permanecerenáreasbajas.Cuandotengamotivospara

sospecharlapresenciadeunafugadepropano,manténgase

puedendetectarelolordelquímicorealizadoporelhombre

queseagregaalgaslicuadopropanooalgasnatural.Usted

debedeterminarsipuededistinguireseolorenestosgases

combustibles.

 •Aprendaareconocerelolordelgaslicuadopropanoy

delgasnatural.Losvendedoresdegaslicuadopropano

gustosamentelefacilitaránunpanfletopararasparyoler.

Úseloparareconocereloloralgascombustible.

 •Fumarpuededisminuirsucapacidaddereconocerolores.

Permanecerrodeadodeunolordeterminadoporun

períododetiempopuedeafectarsusensibilidadaese

olorenparticular.Losolorespresentesenedificiosdonde

permanecenencerradosanimalespuedenocultareloloral

gascombustible.

•El odorizante en el gas licuado propano y en el gas

natural es invisible y la intensidad de su olor puede

perder su intensidad bajo determinadas circunstancias.

 •Encasodeunapérdidasubterránea,elmovimientodegas

porelsuelopuedefiltrarelodorizante.

 •Elolordelgaslicuadopropanopuedevariarsuintensidaden

distintosniveles.Comoelgaslicuadopropanoesmásdenso

queelaire,podríahabermásolorenlosnivelesmásbajos.

• Esté siempre atento al más mínimo olor a gas. Si

continúadetectandooloragas,noimportacuánínfima

seasuintensidad,tómelocomounapérdidaseria.Actúede

inmediatosegúnloindicadoanteriormente.

poursuivre.
